May I just point out our dog was already Magical? Bianca found him, right?

WHERE!?
No, not magical. Special.
He is a simple corgi she bought on a... suggestion. From someone who could already tell that there would be something special about him.

For those that read the main Quest, it is the same as with James and his 'Merely' Human
'Merely' Human
-If an attack would do more than 100 damage, dodge and counter with a free action.

Some people are simply born special. Same for dogs. This is one of those.

I am going to presume we aren't actually going to be in the air against these guys, right? Right? Okay, that's one worry less.
Barring situations of Unified Damage, Soldiers are a non-issue, Lead Soldiers are troublesome with their Crush, and the other two are our bane.

[X] Your friends are already preparing for their mission. Joining them for a bit might be a good idea.
[X] Training sounds good
-[X] Try synchronizing Scorching Sunlight and Soothing Moonlight

I kinda want to integrate Black Sky into our collective now, and hope her Kind Eyes ability gets a loophole with Harmonious Incorporation. Allowing her to see through our eyes. So let's go on a mission! Obviously, joining your friends in preparation is also a good idea, as is trying to see how our light interweaving can go. That last one was bugging me for quite a while.

May I direct your attention to,
I am grateful of this notification, but that still leaves Rico vulnerable to them.

On a side note, I think that Primordial Legacy, that speaks of Sun standing strong without Moon, and vice versa, can possibly replace/upgrade New Moon's Aegis, that gave Rico and only Rico a moderate amount of pain mitigation while Moon was on the field. Similarly, Self-Sufficiency might do the same to Radiant Conductor.

Finally, I do want Shining Protector even more right now. We're going into a warzone. And White Glory probably has non-Contractor handlers, but that's a different train of thought entirely...

A short notice right now: The Shop-Item that would have added Double Cast to Scorching Sunlight was removed. Looking at it again, I realised there was no good way for me to model this Ability on a ray of light.

Edit: No, shooting two rays does not count as a "good" way. That is exactly what I do not want the Spell to be.
Superimpose the iterations of the spell. There's a few MGs who's double cast manifests that way.

Okay... seeing that it was apparently not as clear as I thought it was, have a few words on the topic of Spell Synchronisation.

As the name suggests, this practice regards the creation of a new Spell from casting two or more other Spells together. Any such Spell becomes available to any party involved in its creation and gets the (Synchronize)-Ability to indicate its origin.

Rules for synchronising are as follows:
-at least one of the people involved needs an Ability that enables the synchronisation of Spells
--A special case of this is one of the Spells in question having the Synchronize-Ability (without parenthesis), which indicates the same thing

-The Spells in question need to either
--A) Share an Affinity, or
--B) Have a comparable theme

When a synchronisation is successful, the Spells merge into a new Spell which is then cast in their stead. Take note of the fact that Synchronised Spells are usually particularly strong.

To explain the matter on Sky's Dream of War:

Magical Girl Nightmare Child possesses the following Ability:

Now, while she showed her melee-focussed Spell End of the Line to Anastasia during practice, Ana was in the process of casting her own Rapid Digestion. Both of those Spells have the Horror-Affinity and thus synchronised into a Spell you do not know about.

After that, due to Sky being interested and also lacking a good solution for ranged combat, they attempted to synchronise Night's Demon of War with Sky's Let the Sky Fall.
Again, both of those Spells shared the Horror-Affinity. One of them being limitless and focussed on her crystals, the other a beam of barely rivalled destruction.

Out of this formed

Which is exactly what they wanted. They could have continued synchronising, but having a dozen Spells at hand was not really on their minds at the time.

Now, I know that this is not indicative of both characteristics described above. Neither of these was created with a theme-match.

To give a few examples what would be matching themes:
-Spells that are cast by swinging your weapon
-Beam attacks

For a more direct example: If there was a way for Eva and Spring to synchronise, they could combine Revitalise and Become Whole Again, seeing that both are healing Spells that are cast by laying your hands on the target.

Additionally... @Crystalwatcher, please correct me if this is incorrect or something is missing.
Not every sync combo results in a permanent addition to your spell list, either.

I'm probably thinking to technically here. I'm thinking, under the assumption they can sync, how does healing and damage dealing combine?

There's a lot of ways it could go.

Syncing a single target offensive spell with a multitarget healing spell could create anything from a really powerful single target healing spell to a multitarget offensive spell to some kind of Yin-Yang Bomb.

Results of Synchronize are either super predictable (sync something with Unstoppable with something with Undodgeable to get something with the super rare Unblockable ability) or extremely unpredictable.
see, there's this ability called Vampire...

The first one is good to know.

The second one I am rather disinclined to give to the exponentially growing girls, one of which has said growth on her Health... I think you can understand why.
I don't really see what her own health being exponential has to do with that, as long as Moon's solo version of the Vampire spell has linear damage growth.

If it was linear, it would be near useless because any damage it heals is little more than a drop in the ocean that is Eva's Health.
If it were exponential, it would be far too powerful for the opposite reason.

Can not win with a Vampire-Spell for her, so might as well not give her one.

No-one ever said Sync spells were always good for every user. The benefit of putting Vampire on a spell would mostly be for Rico.

Our current spells don't really sync well yet from the description of synching I think unlocking Best Dog features goes better for the mission.

If Ludger has any spells they should be able to Synchronize with both Sun and Moon I think?
It might sound stupid, but what about prisms and multicolored death beams?
I... uh... while that sounds interesting, it kind of defeats the purpose of being sunlight if you filter it. A prism might just add Collateral Damage.
What might work is a Solar Mirror, but I don't think thematically doing it alone works out visually.
An Echo ability that happens when Moon is hit by Sunlight however, should work. Two mirrors, add a beam bouncing between them.

Do permanent derivatives count as having the Synchronize ability (the without parenthesis kind)?
No.

Permanent Derivatives are the ones with (synchronize), the ones that get added to your character sheet and exist as a spell in their own right. Sync exclusive are the sync spells that only exist when a sync is performed, and are exclusively combo attacks that require all parties to perform it every time.

You can sync normal spells, but you can't sync with sync exclusives because that would just be adding another spell to the mix, and would result in a whole different spell.
