It's why taking options to continuously renew and joining expeditions is prob the best option. Just like how Dawi and Empire does the joint army from time to time, it's necessary for both side to continue this so as to keep things fresh (At least for the Empire.) that yes, we're still allies and willing to stand with one another.

Modern Warhammer tries not giving elves the stupidest possible fucking lore for ten minutes challenge (99% impossible)
That's not nearly the worst part of modern Eonir lore, it's the part where it says that the Eonir sympathize with the Druchii for being ostracized by the Asur like them, despite not two pages later saying that the Druchii have been actively launching raids at Laurelorn.

As stupid as you may or may not find that, I'd argue it at least doesn't play into Running the Asylum-Esque "Elves BadⒸ" nonsense that is them sacrificing travelers and shit.

Eyeless soul eating Fish elves. As a mistake trying to make Asur. The new high elves literally nuking themselves into near extinction, Mass use of Brainwashing of lesser races. Teclis getting owned by his own familiar. I could go on.

Edit: On the other hand they are getting off their butts and actively taking the fight to the bad guys this time. So there is that. And Teclis did basically give Nagash a wedgie with the Everqueen reversing his his trump card. So, elf fans have to take their Dubs. Better than how the poor eldar are doing in 40k, Like the Avatar Khaine finally got a solid win on 'screen'. Finally.

That... is admittedly bigger than I'd always pictured it. No complaints though, for what Stephan has been getting in exchange, that's just a good deal.

The two blue X's are areas of particular note due to being often problematic areas full of either actual Wreckers - essentially land-based pirates who work to ruin ships/drive them to wreck upon the shore so that they can be looted, often worshippers of Stromfels - and greenskin pirate settlements, as well as generally used for clandestine/smuggling purposes from the seas. After being given over to the Eonir, however, such things have been painfully curtailed. There are no safe havens for Wrecker Crews within Eonir borders, nor for greenskins. They take such things seriously. Smugglers are not welcome either, and often claims that they are just temporarily ashore to recuperate and that they'll just wait for rescue or are soon to leave are countered with the Eonir stating that they'll speed them along right into the hands of the Nordland authorities.
Those locations on peninsula, plus Lugren and Odner, could make great places to make official Eonir ports and ships. Could allow Eonir to trade more widely in general too, more so than than Athen Loren could/would at all.

I don't know about could, considering the rivers that run through Athel Loren come from the coast in two locations. Though admittedly one is Mousillon.

Nordland still has access to Laurelorn Lumber, which is about the highest grade lumber in the Old World outside of illegally harvested Athel Loren Lumber - the latter which is almost always painfully purchased with blood and death by furious Asrai/Forest Spirits. They still get exceedingly carefully monitored harvesting zones, which rotate and move about, while illegal harvesting attempts outside of said zones are still intensely and often fatally punished. It is an incredibly lucrative business, and is largely controlled by the Elector Count by way of licenses/permissions being purchased at high cost to operate in said zones, with exceedingly high legal fees if said licensees go outside permissible zones in any respect at all. The EC determines who gets to go in and harvest, which grants significant power over them. The selling of said lumber is subsequently of great worth for Nordland based traders, increasing overall economic prosperity for Nordland.

Nordland still has access to Laurelorn Animal Materials, rare and fine things indeed, which are considered exceedingly high-quality luxury goods. Whether it is the pelts of beavers, wolves, foxes, squirrels, hares, deer and so on, which all repeatedly prove to be exceptional examples of furs no matter what (unless falsely identified), or things like horns or teeth or various other items that alchemists/researchers/etc. might which to make use of in a multitude of ways, they cost a fair shilling but are generally considered worth it by those who get to make regular use of them. The Gold College and Jade College, for instance, purchase such materials for their uses through connections forged between Nordland and Laurelorn. Those looking to participate in such trade operations must pay regular fees to the office of the EC for the priviledge of doing so, while the trade itself improves overall economic prosperity for Nordland.

Nordland still has access to Laurelorn General Elven Goods, whether simple trinkets or more proper artisanal creations, purchased with coin or barter by way of livestock and such for uncertain purposes. The value of such things cannot be ignored, given that they are often acquired by Nordland traders who are then able to upsell the items elsewhere due to their exceptional quality and general exoticism. Which, in turn, improves overall economic prosperity for Nordland. Minor concoctions or potions are also of high value, even if only because 'its elfy which mean's it's got to work', which can and has been leverage for satisfactory profits.

Nordland still has issues with smugglers, but the activity of such things has been vastly reduced by the Eonir taking effective vigilant possession of their Laurelorn coastline. Smugglers now are forced to try and ply their trade directly in the main Nordland settlements where guards and trackers and those dedicated to the law are in high concentration. Wreckers have gone extinct along the Laurelorn coastline of the Sea of Claws, greatly improving the speed and safety of sea-based trade with Nordland heading in from elsewhere in the world, which directly increases trade income and overall economic prosperity for Nordland.

Nordland now has access to - and makes use of - Eonir Ghost Striders and others as trackers, hunters, etc. against threats to the province and the forest both i.e. beastmen, greenskins, bandits, skaven, mutant bands, those who start calling upon Dhar (Necromancers, large pockets of ghouls, devotees to the Dark Gods, witches who need to be either curtailed and sent south to the colleges or culled outright) and so on. Particularly pro-active Eonir i.e. younger ones - are even being utilized in carefully negotiated advance parties to help said activities between Stephan and Naraiel. Elven expertise aids in such things, while the Elves get to feel better about getting rid of threats before they have a chance to hit Laurelorn proper. Thus improving overall safety of the province, positive outlook on Eonir, reduces casualties for the State Troops and Militia, and various other knock-on effects which additionally culminates in increasing the overall economic prosperity for Nordland.

And sometimes, someone thinks they have a good plan, and will try to secretly insert a group of loggers or hunters into the forest, or a Witch Hunter will try to persecute the foul inhuman magically tainted magic users, or a particularly determined Taalite priest will just try and walk in to tell them that their Gods are wrong/dumb/bad/don't exist and that they should worship Taal.

And those people don't come out again.

So. You know.

Natural selection at its finest...

All those people are heroes who have earned the Darwin Awards by preventing their stupidity from expanding in Nordland´s gene pool.

More dosh and lumber for ships!

But yeah, sounds like Nordland and Eonir relationship very mutually beneficial overall and can be a great long-term relationship if done right.

Literally Bloodglade when another group of humans purposefully ignore the borders of the Special Allowance Zones, come in with axes or bows or spears or torches, or deliberately walk past the clearly marked borders around the Silver Hills, or try to go north through the Schadensumpf towards the definitively Eonir-held Misty Hills, or try to set up a Wrecker spot, or goodness forbid try to come from Westerland i.e. the ones who have ZERO permissions or Special Allowance Zones, etc. etc.

Closest equivalent I can think of are Waywatcher and Wildwood Rangers, moreso the former.

So how do the Nordlanders get in contact with the Enoir? Do they just camp right outside their borders about yell really loudly until they get a response or is it a " don't contact us, we will contact you" situation. Or is it some permanent position where the Nordlanders can approach for dialog.

So yeah, that is a lot of territory ceded (heh, or seeded) to the Eonir, and from the looks of it large enough portions of land taken from former cities and towns that they could grow more of the forest up, or more likely already have given the years since those territories were abanded decades ago and this is just the formalization of the new normal. But yeah, Nordland is giving up a lot, but by agreeing to this treaty it accomplishes exactly what the Eonir want, it ties Nordland and it's highest echelons closer to the idea of working with them to mutually benefit, via trade and military aid, while disabusing the notion that they can get away with going against the law and the Eonir with any true degree of safety.

All in all, it's a bit of a loss for Nordland from the human perspective, less terittory and less resources they can directly benefit from, but it also allows the Kessels to focus more on a concentrated Nordland. And as pointed out, they still get those resources from Lourelorn Forest, it just means they have to pay for them with actual money instead of lumbering and hunting expeditions. Pretty much the best of all worlds for everyone. Well, except for the greedy nobles who think "I can get so much more money if I hire and fund, now illegal, expeditions into the murder forest controlled by the wood elves rather than just buying from them. The lives of the workers risking everything to do that for me? Well, if they were so desperate for money they would just be lining up for another dangerous job, so why should I care about their lives?"

I'd like to imagine that the Eonir don't just kill everyone in illegal expeditions, but capture at least a few to find out who's funding them, even if it's just to pass that info on to Stephen.

I have to wonder what beavers are like in a Wood Elf forest with tree spirits and the like being 'common'. Just feels like it would be interesting compared to our Earth's mundane beavers.

Faith can bring all sorts miracles especially when it comes to their spheres of power... I wonder what sort of conversation he would have with Orion if he ever made it that far.

Or if he would join the wild hunt.

Can a Priest of Taal become an Amber Magister?

Beavers and their actions are natural, even helpful, parts of nature, so I doubt it gets the same response as a human or dwarf harvesting timber.
Yeah but well even if they're natural I doubt a tree spirit would be very happy to be cut down by a beaver. So between that and how Laurelorn animals can be a bit strange compared to their mundane brethren makes me think things like "Are the beavers a guild that only go for the already dead tree spirits?" or "Do beaver damns have their own spirits due to the quality of their lumber?". Just things like that

Laureon should sen an delegation to magnus so they can be treated as an properly forgin country on the higest order and get though the skull of some of the most stubborn that laureon is an elf country.
