The Book of Time (Word Building Riot Quest)

I think we actually have a lot of the basis for our world ready. There isn't that many things we really need to add. I do have a pretty cool idea called Sky Ladders, though.

Ok, ok, this is an important vote so here are some observations.

I think it is important to notice there are 2 main types of boons available.

A) The permanent ones. Which will affect every turn from now on.
[]Second Flash
Two themes each turn instead of one.
[]Greater Power
Wills have an extra vote.
[]Twisted Dominion
Each Will gains a title and a bonus 2 power when acting in line with that title. The title comes from their acts before this vote.
[]Empowering Force
Each will can instead of authoring an act choose to grant every act they vote for 3 power instead of one.

B) And the consumable ones. Only available a single time.
[]Moment of Glory
This next turn all Wills can author 2 acts.
[]Trinity Lens
Each Will gains a single use +10 to an act of their choice this turn as long as this hasn't been used on it before.

While the drawbacks we can choose from seem to be all permanent. Choosing a temporary bonus in exchange for a permanent drawback is a trade I would not usually recommend.

Buut, I can see some exceptions:

First, "Weakened Power". A drawback that reduces the number of votes per player.
No matter what boon we pick in exchange of this, it will have been worth it. After all, people constantly vote for less than 5 options, so this doesn't really change things for us.

Second, "Trinity Lens". If I understood it correctly, this option gives us a one time use +10 we can give to an act.
Does the act needs to be one authored next turn? Or could we strenghten past acts with this? Depending on the answer this option can go from valuable to absolutely preciouss.

If this is one use, but would stay until we use it, than it is really precious. We can use it to tweak some Laws. Like, I proposed some possible little changes, but maybe you have some other ideas for patches too?

Edit: There, list of some possible tweaks to try at some point. Give me your suggestions, if you have some.

[] Rules Patch

Some Laws of reality got new changes and clarifications:
Death: The Curse fades slowly over time unless it is actively fueled by the suffering of beings nearby. It can die, because Death is merciful.
Growth: The growth of the Curse's concentration is limited by the fact that the higher its concentration, the more suffering it takes to increase it even more. Growth Limitation applied as it should.
Karma: The positive Karma of creatures is able to protect them from the Curse and reduce its concentration via spending itself. In the course of purification of the Curse process the Karma approaching neutral from positive. Karma opposition to evil.

Just based on the wording it probably does need to be the act authored next turn but as Andre Chaos plans to do, there is no reason besides theme that the act can't be one that affects older acts.

Here are my thoughts on what we should vote for.

Plan: Max Trinity
[]Second Flash
Two themes each turn instead of one.
[]Moment of Glory
This next turn all Wills can author 2 acts.
[]Trinity Lens
Each Will gains a single use +10 to an act of their choice this turn as long as this hasn't been used on it before.

[]Weakened Power
All Wills have -1 vote.
[]Diminishing Fate
All acts have -1 power

This plan is essentially built around maximizing the values of Trinity Lens. Second Flash doubles how many types of acts we can make and Moment of Glory lets us take advantage of that by allowing us to essentially make an act for each theme. Now, if people don't want to sacrifice act power, I'd go with this plan:

Plan: Normal Trinity
[]Second Flash
[]Trinity Lens
[]Weakened Power

Finally, while it's not super valuable, I really really want to add these to either plan:

[]Twisted Dominion
Each Will gains a title and a bonus 2 power when acting in line with that title. The title comes from their acts before this vote.
[]Lost Hope
Each Will gains an Epitaph. When an act is against that Epitaph, their vote has half value.

They're limiting but I think they add so much to RP that I can't help but want it.

Voting starts in an hour (I guess we're just voting for our boons/flaws?) so I have drafted up my preliminary plan. As the title says, I just can't help myself.

[] Plan: I Can't Help Myself
- []Second Flash
- []Moment of Glory
- []Trinity Lens
- []Twisted Dominion
- []Weakened Power
- []Diminishing Fate
- []Lost Hope

Thoughts?

So Max Trinity with Titles and Epitaphs?

I can work with that.

Wonder what I will get?

Need to review my Actions…

EDIT: Division of Body and Spirit, Janus Islands, and Sky Isle Turtles. What kind of Title would that give?

Probably something related to the dichotomy (or maybe interaction) between the physical and spiritual.

For fun, I decided to ask what AI thinks and here's what it gave you:

Divine Title: Ethereal Arbiter of the Janus Realms
Epitaph: "Guardian of the Thresholds, Uniting the Boundless and the Mundane"

It probably would give you a better title if I had put more detail about your acts into it. The epitaph is pretty cool though. Made one for me too.

Divine Title: Primordial Harmonizer of Creation's Tongue
Epitaph: "Weaver of Sentience, Forger of Fates, and Custodian of the Great Conflict"

Wait, what AI are you using? What does it say about me? My acts are the Primordial Flesh, the Trees, and the Blood Springs. Probably something about life.

I just used chatgpt. They upgraded the free version to 3.5 a while back. It's pretty good if you know how to prompt it right.

Prompt used: "I created the Primordial Flesh, the Trees, and the Blood Springs. Give me a divine title and epitaph."

Divine Title: Aegis of the Primal Nexus
Epitaph: "Sculptor of Origins, Sustainer of Life's Pulse, and Guardian of the Sacred Roots"

Man, I wonder what title and epithet I'll end up with. Law of Purity and Transmutative Net were both intended to give this universe structure, but didn't pan out like I would like. The scale of each ended up smaller than I intended. Chimeric Shifters, as a comparison, was intended to bridge the gaps between the many mortal races. It seems to be well on its way. Also, it resulted in elemental slimes. Incredible.

I'm also wondering what kind of title and epithet I would get with Karma, The Black Lake and Nightmares, as I'm very curious.

Hmm, I made physical laws, Flat World, some interesting non-humanoid species... Am I Order? :o

Well, since I have nothing better to do, here are some more Divine Titles and epitaphs! So, what do you all think of yours?

Man, I wonder what title and epithet I'll end up with. Law of Purity and Transmutative Net were both intended to give this universe structure, but didn't pan out like I would like. The scale of each ended up smaller than I intended. Chimeric Shifters, as a comparison, was intended to bridge the gaps between the many mortal races. It seems to be well on its way. Also, it resulted in elemental slimes. Incredible.
Divine Title: Seeker of Harmonics Amidst Complexity
Epitaph: "Weaver of Intertwined Realities, Sculptor of Unforeseen Bonds, and Watcher Over Unraveled Intentions"
I'm also wondering what kind of title and epithet I would get with Karma, The Black Lake and Nightmares, as I'm very curious.
Divine Title: Chronicler of Ethereal Balances
Epitaph: "Weaver of Fate's Threads, Reflections in the Abyss, and Guardian of Dreams and Shadows"
Hmm, I made physical laws, Flat World, some interesting non-humanoid species... Am I Order? :o
Divine Title: Architect of Multiversal Foundations
Epitaph: "Forger of Cosmic Blueprint, Crafting Unity Amidst Infinity, and Equine Guardians' Patron"
The Curse, Divinity and Mantas for me.
I don't see a connection between the three.
Divine Title: Weaver of Cursed Cycles and Divinity
Epitaph: "Sculpter of Burdened Fates, Arbiter of the Divine, and Sentinel of Living Enclaves"
Stars, the first library, and phoenixs for me

stuff to do with light and knowledge?
Divine Title: Stellar Artificer, Keeper of Eternal Chronicles, and Igniter of Immortality
Epitaph: "Bearer of Celestial Creation, Architect of Wisdom's Vault, and Guardian of Everlasting Flames."
