The American Experiment (Riot Quest)

Well, thinking more on it, the consequence would be losing exclusive recognition in favor of some other union federation the moment a non-Socialist Labor coalition or party takes Congress. But this outcome is even worse than losing a majority on the IPA-interfacing union board, while retaining a minority voice is at least a backstop against total irrelevance. Point to your system.

Could we try to come up with a write in that let unions have the management veto without having nationwide special recognition at all in some way? We may have trapped ourselves with previous options here but maybe you have ideas.

I mean, that's just this:
[][structure] All unions must be recognized equally by the government.

To which your write-in is preferable. (I'm talking myself around to supporting it, take the W.)

Oh yeah that one is just the same thing I'm proposing minus an actual mechanism to exercise its promised powers.

I wonder if we'll go back to playing organizations after the end of the constitutional rounds or run the whole nation. I'd be interested in seeing how we can pilot the ACUA into not just becoming a labour discipline organ of the state.

Both! Every turn there's going to be a normal round where you play as organizations, and then a round where the organizations and NPCs collaborate to decide national policy. Having your organization spend more on influencing national policy in the org turn makes them more influential in the national turn.

Edit: Also voting is open.

[X][structure] The government will recognize one union federation (the ACUA).
[X][conflict] Trade unions have the right to appeal to the Socialist International, whose decision is binding.
[X][strike] Trade unions perpetually have the legal right to strike.
[X][strike] No special constitutional guarantee for the legal right to strike.

[X][structure] Unions will be recognized for the purpose of interacting with state organs in the form of syndical representation councils, allocated proportionally based on their share of representation.
[X][conflict] Nothing special, courts arbitrate conflicts as normal.
[X][strike] Everyone (i.e. including non-recognized trade unions) perpetually have the legal right to strike.

Still voting against the socialist internationale plank because I think that's not its job.

I also think requiring bureaucratization in the form of union membership to be allowed to strike is the kind of half measure liberals would get up to, we're better than that.

Fuck it, we ball. If we lose recognition, then we'll have deserved it. And at least we'll have the strike weapon.

The ISB isn't set up to be an arbitral body, doesn't have that mandate from the International's affiliates, and its members were not chosen for that purpose. Putting disputes before it would distract from its actual business.
