The American Experiment (Riot Quest)

Voting is open
So what are the plans for the future since I'm pretty sure the biggest war around the corner is the Russo-Japenese war which could give the various mevements a good excuse to rally and kick the Russian empire in the balls

At best, it'll be a civil war with the party heads and the corps doing a team-up with the WUA to fight SUS, due in part to the Union org being allied with the black rights org, with the Republicans having some of their members go rebel. But regardless on how things go, it's gonna get ugly, and of all groups, WUA and their allies need to at least not win, considering WUA's whole Schtick is basically latest incarnation of the Confederacy.

Edit: Ideally, people would manage to vote enough high up before things start going pear-shaped to divide the votes...
But we may not have the time for that.

So what's the consensus on how to deal with them since it seems like any of the non super specialized orgs need to start flooding militia and influence into the South so as to counter their main support base.
With the sedaton act, and the situation with the main parties. Expand influence, steal party politicians, steal seats, and think up of ways to drive wedges between the WUA and the corpos. Cause while there isn't yet WUA politicians that relevant, there are certainly the parties considering possibly dealing with the new upstarts, and gaining corpo support by using the conflict with WUA to attack threats to themselves...
One thing could be to try and sour relations between the giants of industry and WUA. As those giants are likely easier to convince than the morass below them, albiet partly because they are big enough they would have less problems should the WUA decide to start sabotaging companies that stand against them. 😅

Though the Giants of industry are well...
Some are known as philanthropists from the sheer ammount of donation investments given, but also, well...
There is the whole how they got there and the poor conditions of the standard workplace, with theirs being no different.

[X] The Minutemen

Not sure what to do the second for yet

Shop Room Swing
Shop Room Swing

(Glenn Curtiss POV)

You looked at the storeroom floor again and smiled as you continued to observe the De Dion-Bouton Tricycle that was in storage at your store in Hammondsport, it was a peculiar request that wasn't entirely beyond your skill as a Bicycle repairman to fix, at least in terms of the suspension and frame.

The Electric engine was something you'd wanted to tinker with for years but you never found the time or energy to actually work on, what with an internal combustion engine or electric engine being expensive.

Nodding you moved to the front counter to the waiting man and smiled. "So you said the bump jostled something loose?"

The Man was very much a futurist in terms of how he dressed, or rather how he acted around him, quiet, and patient with bouts of emotional worry. "Yes Mr. Curtiss, I understand that-"

"How fast were you going?" You said.

"Excuse me sir?" He said, not expecting the question to be relevant.

"How fast?" You said firmly.

"At least Twelve to Fifteen miles? I was going downhill at the time sir." He said.

"Hmm, well you cracked one of the wheel frames not sure how you did that…then you broke the pressure on the back breaks, its a miracle you stopped at all, though the front break did all the work." You said. "It can be fixed, and I can fix it, just need to have some time and money, these parts aren't cheap."

"Money is no issue, I assure you." He said.

"Two weeks." You said. "Have to put it all back together properly, and I don't know the engine very well."

He was grim in your assessment but was acceptable all the same for a man who was told he would lose his ride for that amount of time.

--------------------

It was almost two weeks before you saw the man again and in that time you were drawing, sketching, and putting it all together.

The parts were rather simple to get, all things considered, and the number of copies the Trycicle had, could be acquired and fashioned somewhat makeshift to fit the wheel frame, then there are the breaks. The breaks were a bitch to fix, but it was getting the pressure and strength right so it would stop the motorized speed, it took an attempt or two but you managed to get it right.

But the Job wasn't what was bothering you, no it was the inspiration it gave you…your own fast-moving bicycle, you would have killed for one when you were just a humble messenger on your bicycle years ago.

You only hoped after you got the second shop up and running that you could finally focus on something more creative.

The Door opened as you smiled at the man, "Ahh, its finished, Mr. Curtiss?"

You compartmentalized the idea and gave a grand and sweeping wave, "It is done, all fixed as the day you brought it out, but before you hit something."

He nodded. "Quaint, your payment." the Envelope was filled with…500 dollars?!

"I..umm, This was only a 70-dollar job, sir, after factoring in the fitting and fixing the frame?" You said.

"If I may make something of an investment and a few minutes of your time, Mr. Curtiss." He said in a dull tone. "I am a representative of the Technocratic Institute of Planning in Cleveland, and I am working on theories of newer forms of transportation in this modern age."

You raised an eyebrow. "What kinda sales pitch are you selling?"

"I understand that you have an interest in Motorizing personal transportation…I've come to see if that is accurate. And to get my personal transportation back." He said.

"You been spying on me?" You said feeling a small bit of concern in your voice as you went for your wrench on the counter.

"Yes though nothing malevolent in nature, I merely left someone to keep an eye on you for the two weeks you were working. Mostly to keep an eye on my property." He said.

A bit paranoid about that.

You were less at ease and more curious. "And why the extra money?"

"Forward fee to accept an offer to go to Cleveland to meet with other up-and-coming inventors and listen to a lecture on wireless communications theory by Nikola Tesla?" He said. "The extra money is to make sure that any business are not hindered by your absence."

That was confusing… "So you want me to go to Clevland of all places to talk to some people I don't even know, and listen to one of the more peculiar men in America talks about the theoretical promises of, whatever it is he's studying now."

"If you wish to decline I will be sure to remove your name from the list and take back some of the money to a more reasonable amount." He said.

You stood for a moment, then thought about the opportunity, you always did want a vacation with Lena, and with finalizing the second shop, the extra money would give some breathing room to bring it up to speed and give start-ups for, other projects you've been meaning to do.

"No, I think I'll be going, but, I'm gonna need to-?" You said.

He smiled "Splendid. Your train is in two weeks."

"Hold on…I have so many questions." You said.

"And many answers will be revealed in due time…my friend, The names Robert Miller, I hope to be seeing you in Cleveland!" He then moved outside and to the open garage, you worked in.

He was already prepared to go for a spin it seemed. Well if he died, it wasn't your fault.

Robert Miller? Wasn't he one of those…oh boy, you had just fixed the Tricycle for one of the more weird futurists, the one that preached Bicycles and motorized transportation would be the end of Railroad as a primary source of transportation.

It sounded like hogwash, but you did see some merits to his ramblings in the papers.

What have I gotten myself into this time?

Sorry Cyber but we need firepower right now and OH MY GOD WHY ARE THERE SO MANY TILLMANN VOTES!
What we are seeing is the time honored Democrat 'election commitee' at work. :V

But lets be honest, WUA is appealing to the cultural remnants stubbornly clung on since the civil war, painting themselves as the champions of the people. And there are the traditional legbreakers that honed their craft working to 'eliminate' the black vote
