Yes, I know. As far as I know, comm buoys also work in pairs. Which is a big problem. Basically, it's arguable if a massless corridor can be projected without a receiver station at the other end.
QEC is more than a fourth lock. Geth do not negotiate. They just don't. Heretics worship old machines, orthodox ones want to be left alone.
We need political capital within the Alliance. We need it strongly kf we want to go to the next level of development (private fleet and worlds, entering politics, etc).
Speaking of... It occurs to me that our super frigates might turn out to be white elephants - military simply won't know how to use them. I propose we get a liaison from the navy who could work with us in secret to develop a military doctrine (well, beginnings of it) for effective use of our revolutionary ships.

Didn't think about that... still preliminary research into the possibility wouldn't drain much resources, be it time or credits, and we are going from multiple light years to a two or so light minutes, the FTL comms don't actually produce a massless corridor only a low mass corridor to accelerate light.
Transport is the only time this is a meaningful consideration: if an infiltration team has physical access to one of our research labs I don't expect them to spend days copying our pads when they can go for our actual research. Transport security is a problem, but again as a military contractor we have potential access to military escorts, and any breeches at this point would just mean we have to discard that pad and generate a new one.
I really think going for QEC at this point is overly paranoid, as opposed to many more real security concerns. I'm actually a lot more worried about the physical/infiltration security of our labs, especially now that we're increasing our vulnerability by expanding to multiple worlds, and with Obidiah Stone apparently on our payroll and convinced Revy is just a silly kid with no head for business (yes I know that's an Omake; I still expect him to show up in the story anyway), than I am about someone trying to copy our pads during the short time they're in transit, which should not be enough time to get even a significant fraction of one.
They negotiated with Sovereign for technology; I'd expect they would love to speak with someone who doesn't think "synthetics" are abominations that need to be enslaved or eradicated and takes that commitment seriously. Hell, if we get to them early enough, we may be able to co-opt the heretic movement and prevent Saren from receiving any backup at all from the geth.

The article at least implies military usage of the QECs at the time, which means that it is certainly in the prototype stages if not already being deployed. I don't see why Revy can't get her hands on the research. That goes from possibly years of R&D to months if not weeks to completion of working models.

Just found a better explanation, apparently cerberus has QECs dunno if the the rest of the MEverse does. The things are expensive as hell though so they could be limited to espionage groups. However it is noted that cerberus does have a great deal of interest in Revy so I don't see why they wouldn't help her.

But she can also invent it independently an patent it. Otherwise it would be troublesome to deal width military protocols.
Really, the concept is not new in universe, but we need an efficient proprietary communication protocol, to implement as primary communication method between PE facilities (including ships).

That's programming... the tech exists.
on that note, I know for a fact that quits are not binary, comm protocols expiating the different Qubit states to allow for faster transmission of data would be a good idea, upping the bandwidth significantly.
However the best form of info transfer for what you are looking for may be to entangle more than two subatomic particles, so that a single system has more terminals.

To make it secure an feasible to production we need to design the hardware from scratch.
I expect Revy to overcome some of the original problems with QEC.
If this tech exists as a well established concept, it will make the actual design process smoother.
Th RP cost in this case covers the engineering mostly (to make a good design, instead of a working design).
Remember, that Revy is an engineering genius too, nut just scientific.

See Bra–ket notation, it gives you three non-binary values per subatomic particle, that makes it absurdly easy to transfer information, I can see you sending three unique symbols from any language along the line, you could send data as such assuming each value hits 95 you can type out the entire english language and use zeros for the spaces, so "Hello World 123" would be transmitted as:

Get your security chief, Goto, to dig up more info, particularly whatever it was that got him fired time and again. Forewarned is forearmed. Try to get it done before you land on Earth, but if that is not possible, arrange to keep in contact with him, promising nothing, but you've got the entire time you're on Earth to make the decision.

@Alanek2002 tried my hand at a couple threads of my own on SB but they fell flat. I am putting some serious effort into automating a fleet game I want to set up because I like the concept but no-one is doing it, thing is if I GM then I don't get to play, If I put some serious effort I could probably get enough out to start the game but there's a shit ton of stuff that really can only be done by a GM.
Hmm, some preliminary thoughts on maybe a new tech. TIR is a perfect mirror (for slowly changing lightwaves). So, TIRed volume of space could be used, potentially, as a sort of capacitordb/ trap for electromagnetic radiation. This is used in Thermal Annihilator (hope that idea pans out, by the way). It can be used in other ways too, I think.
1) For example, laser ammo/grenades/warheads. Create a TIR area. Pump in laser beam into it over a period of time (arrange geometry so the beam doesn't exit the area). When TIR is dropped, the laser beam would be released. Essentially, TIR makes a perfect gain medium. Coupled with laser technology in general, TIR re oves the upper boundary on laser power. Our techtree for lasers likely refers to sustained/contnuous beams. With TIR lighttrapping, any laser becomes, essentially, an arbitrarily highly powered impulse laser (its power would determine the time it would take for an impulse to reach the power of X). Something to explore / a very uaeful addition to the laser technology.
2) Matter generation and exotic. Arbitrarily intense electromagnetic radiation will, at slme point, cause pair production, unless I am mistaken. Beyond that, powerful lasers slightly bend space near their beams. Superpowerful ones? Some interesting effects there (I am looking at you, laser time machine!)
Basically? TIR looks like one of those key techs that open up tons of stuff/entire techtrees. Just to count:
1) Laser shielding
2) Stealth in space
3) Heat desteuction
4) Laser enhancement (should be doable)
5) Exotic stuff, if allowed
6) Upgrades over basic TIR (I think Esbilon mentioned TIR upgrade that would protect against kinetic weaponry)

That was the null barriers. I do agree with most of your tech and if this pans out the research of exotic matter should be one of our main priorities, think of the possible advances we could make.
