"Well, yeah, but..." You look around. "There's gotta be something we're evenly matched with." You see...basketball. A little basketball cabinet from the nineties.
You look at her, and she looks at you...then you both nod and rush over. "LET'S."

"TO."
You both grin. "RUMBLLLLLLLLLEEEE!!!"
You both suck at it. But it makes for a nice end. And so, in a final moment, Kyouko smirks. "Don't...don't you dare test my Slam Jam." She says. "THIS IS A SLAM JAM!"
"OOOOOOOOH!!"
"BROKE THE BACK BOARD."

Kyouko won. You're pretty sure she won. DANG IT.

"And someone's bitchy." Her tone doesn't say that she's being mean, so you don't take it as such. "So, anyway, your name's Sayaka, if I remember it right."
"Yup." You say. "So now what?"
"Iunno. We could play more video games." She shrugs.
"Or just talk." You say. "So, how long have you been here?"
"Uh...just moved back recently." She says.
"Back?" You repeat. "You used to live here?"
"Uh...yeah!" She says. "Yeah, I did."
"Hm." You raise an eyebrow. "Visiting family or move in with a relative or something?"
She suddenly looks a little downtrodden, but she recovers quickly. "Yes! Yes. Just visiting family."
You think she's lying. But you also know that the truth is probably much, much worse. "Okay." You say. "Well, maybe we can hang out some more!" You grin. "I mean, you're a pretty cool person!"
She smirks. "Well of course I am. I'm Kyouko, motherfucker!"
You laugh a little at that. "Wow, you've got a filthy mouth."
"And you're a bit of a goody-two shoes." She says. "Nothing wrong with the occasional swear."
"You swear more than a sailor."
"Or the common swear." She sighs. "There, happy?"
"That makes more sense."

She sighs. "Can we leave now?" She says...as she performs a mad combo on an AI controlled Bison.
"...You don't look ready to go." You say.
"I am. Believe me." She says. Then she hits a perfect combo. K.O.

Homura blinks at that. She looks a little happy at the idea, but she gets back to her standard expression of absolutely nothing.
Kyouko looks at you. "Who's Madoka?"
"My best friend." You say. "Her dad's a great cook!"
She looks at you, then at Homura. Then she shrugs. "I can't turn down good food."
"Then we'll be heading over as soon as possible!" You whip out your phone and you call.
"Sayaka?" A voice on the other end asks.
"Hey, Madoka." You grin. "I have Homura and a new friend over here! Mind having your dad cook something for us?"
"Not a problem! He was actually cooking something big tonight. If they didn't come we'd have leftovers." She sounds happy.
"Alrighty!" Your smile widens. "See you then!"
"Bye!" She hangs up and you put away your phone.

You decide to take the bus with Homura and Kyouko. You can see a couple of douchebags in the back talking about something, and they look pretty unsavory. So you decide to sit in front and just talk.

"Honestly?" She says. "...I did." She smiles slightly, but it's not one of joy. More like...bittersweetness. Like she misses something.
"...Man, you need a hug."
"I beg your pardon?" She asks.
"Like, I keep looking at you and you just look so sad. I mean, you look so bitter most of the time but when I've been looking at you lately, you just look miserable."
"Like her puppy's died?" Kyouko says.
"Yeah. Like that." You say. "Is there something that you're thinking about."
She sighs. "It's my business and mine alone." She says. "I don't need pity or sympathy."
"I'm not trying to do that." You say. "I'm trying to understand you. I mean, hey, that's what friends do, right?"
Homura looks at you strangely. "...You already consider me a friend?"

You turn around to your other side to talk to Kyouko, as Homura decides to do something else involving the window and looking out of it. You're guessing that she's having a monologue-filled brooding session.

She goes pale. "...Oh, dammit." She sighs. "Look, I was just saying that because you know I was trying to make you feel better!" She's waving her hands wildly. "Doyageddit?"
