SayakaQuest Thread 10: Glory To The Death

Damn it, I completely forgot that Walpurgis is a theater themed witch that want to 'change the whole of this age into a drama'. Damn. It.

[X] It's not them. These girls are dead. They're fakes.
[X] Upgrade the shield now.
[X] Ping Homura, direct her to try and pick off Trident Girl (Emiko).
[X] Alpha strike. Everyone open with whatever strong attacks you've got, and if they're aoe, all the better.

Self-deception is a thing, sometime it even work

[X] It's not them. These girls are dead. They're fakes.

"I-It's not them. They're dead. Th-these are..."

You see Kyouko take another step backwards as she stares at the False Mami. "N-No...nonono..."

"Kyouko-"

The familiar giggles a little, and you stare. It sounds just like her.

[X] Upgrade the shield now.

You raise a shaking hand as the familiars take a step off of the central stage. A pair of burning white wings unfurl, as everyone else brandishes their weapons.

You see Kagura and Yuri staring at the False Nanami in horror, before they both slowly bring their weapons up.

[X] Ping Homura, direct her to try and pick off Trident Girl (Emiko).

'T-Take out Emiko first.'

'They aren't real.' Homura swallows. '...I...actually, I'm surprised...I've never faced this...just...familiars.'

[X] Alpha strike. Everyone open with whatever strong attacks you've got, and if they're aoe, all the better.

"W-we need to attack. Now-" Suddenly, you're cut off as a burning blade appears in your vision. You quickly move your shield down on instinct, before you're blown backwards and out.

"Sayaka-!" Kyouko shrieks, before a bullet tears into a weak spot on her armor. She screams, before she turns to face the False Mami, who rams into her as quickly as she can right off of the gear.

Meanwhile, everyone else is blown off of the gear by a blast of wind. Akane throws several fiery punches before they're deflected by multiple shadow shots. She lets out a roar of rage and fury as you all fall towards Kyouko's chain.

The gears begin to turn again, and buildings start to rise once again

[OPTION SELECT]

[] Attack...
-[] Write-in which one.

[] Telepathy...

Walpurgis is a cheating cheater who cheats.

Will say that Emiko's treatment and death had upset me ever since I first read it (though when I read it, it was several months after it was actually written). And now she's back for revenge (sort of).

OK, 9 familiars, 9 MGs here. Obviously they don't have soul gems anymore, so we can't take advantage of that weakness. I doubt it will be as easy as being able to focus on one at a time, so going to have to assume that it'll be one-on-one throughout. Given that limit, who would we want to assign to whom? Who has the strongest edge against each of their power sets?

Also, what's the list that we're dealing with? Went back and dug up what I could. Missing the name of whip girl (the picture has a GUID name instead of the character name), and no idea who the crystal sphere is supposed to belong to.

a golden bullet soars out of the curtains - Mami
followed by a sphere of crystal - Nanami (grey, unfeeling)
a trident of green - Emiko (antimagic)
a barrage of shadows - Mitsuko (gun nut/shadow cloner)
a burst of wind - Haruko (wind goddess)
a crack of a whip - top hat and whip (name?)
a flash of light - Sora (angel/paladin)
a flying bat - Nao (teleporter/club) (assuming bat like baseball bat, not a vampire bat)
a volley of knives - Kiyoko (mind reader/knives)

And Grey and Antimagic for good measure.
With the stats as well.

How the hell did she get them? I mean, they all died way before she showed up, and she's not a mind reader or anything to my knowledge.
Because doom and suffering is my best guess for now.

Looks like Wallawallanut is expanding genres from 'Disaster Movie' to 'Psychodrama'. Huehuehue.

So, Wally now is getting ready to level the city while its familiars are on defense duty.

Also, now is the time Homura needs to get Ran and Chou here.

Hmm... we're gonna need to focus on familiars first. Get down the Trident and Haruko first, maybe even Mami. Knowing the potential they have, surely the will be an annoyance on the "long" term.

Long vs Short and Short vs Long range? (For example Homura would take down Sora and others with LMGs like she did in Canon when racing to the evac center; I would say send Akane for Mami since she doesn't have an emotional attachment)

Ok, looks like they're all choosing partners. We have Sora (paladin) after Sayaka, Mami after Kyouko, Mitsuko (cloner) after Akane, etc.

you all fall towards Kyouko's chain
Will we be able to use that as scaffolding to get back up? Actually, do we want to get back up on the gear? If the familiars are chasing us, why not let them follow us to the ground? That way Ran and Chou can join up with us without needing to use a HomuBail. Then when most/all the familiars are dealt with, have Homura take everyone back up to the gear to deal with any stragglers (eg: Haruko).

Also, while there are 'natural' antagonisms at work here, we want to get pairs working that will be to our advantage. For example, Akane vs Whipgirl should be pretty fast, given how Akane stomped the original back during the first fight with the T6.

Can keep Kyouko with Mami. She has the most experience fighting directly against Mami, so as long as she plays defensively, she should be able to hold out for a while.

There are going to be emotional problems with Kyouko vs Mami, and for our Tokyo girls vs Nanami, but I don't see a solid way around it.

Given the vote options in the update post, I'm guessing we can't say much to the Tokyo group.

[x] Use Kyouko's chains to slow descent, but try to draw the familiars out and take them to the ground.
[x] Telepathy Kyouko: Keep Mami busy. Play defensive; don't be reckless or try to beat her yet.
[x] Telepathy Homura: Pass a message to Kagura to telepathy to the others
-[x] Akane: Ignore shadow girl, beat Whipgirl.
-[x] Warn Ran and Chou that we're coming with the familiars.
-[x] Ako:
-[x] Yuri:

Anyone want to chime in on ideas of who to aim at whom? Who's likely to be strong against the 'weaker' enemies, and can take them out fast? Who can hold off the stronger enemies? Who do we send after the telepath?

List:
Whipgirl
Kiyoko (mind reader)
Emiko (antimagic)
Nanami (emotionless)
Mitsuko (cloner)
Sora (paladin)
Nao (teleporter)
Mami (ribbons)
Haruko (winds)

[Q] Get on your knees.
[Q] Put your head between your legs.
[Q] Kiss your ass goodbye.

This is gonna suuuuuuuck.

Do we want go over the entire "get the hell to Walpurgisnacht before it TPK's us all" bit again? I'd rather fight up here.

Just figuring that everyone was wanting to drag Ran and Chou up here, so if you're going to have to spend that energy anyway, might as well do it for the entire group since Haruko's likely to hurricane-blast everyone off anyway.

It seems to me that Homura should be able to take out most of them with time stop.
Unfortunately, if they don't have soul gems, there's no instant-kill button. For example, why couldn't Homura take out the mind reader in their first encounter, even without shooting her soul gem? She only managed it by accidentally dropping a gas grenade in the girl's face.

Still, it may possibly work to just let Homura drop a few grenades around every familiar while we're in freefall.

Kinematics didn't we just get ripped for playing general?
More limited focus, then? Though last time was a tactical order that probably wasn't needed; this is a strategic arrangement that we really need to give thought to if we want to make it through this.

Let's cut their heads off!
Well, if Walpurgis gets to cheat, I guess we could, too.

Throw off paladin girl, get Homura to pull us into timestop, and selectively remove a few of the more troublesome familiars (mind reader, teleporter, cloner) with a hail of bullets and a giant sword to slice them in half.

Don't touch Mami; she'd be able to stick with us in timestop. We already know Haruko has defenses against timestop. Antimagic probably isn't good either.

This is why pugs suck. Half the pug DPS aren't even on teamspeak, they think they know better than the main-tank, and no one can follow instructions in chat. Looks like it might be a wipe.

Sayaka and Kyoko should have kept the heroic raid in-guild for <Holy Quintet>. :V

If there's unrest in the ranks due to us being overly commanding, maybe we should pass the lead to someone else for the time being. That, or we just shut the hell up and micro our own actions instead of the entire party's. This is far too dire a situation for unrest in the ranks.
