SayakaQuest Thread 10: Glory To The Death

"You have bad taste." Kyouko says, flatly.

Ako looks mildly offended by that.

Oh Kyouko. Never change :D

[x]We get in there and stop this. If they attack...just stop them, but if it's you or them...they're murderers. Ako, we need you to get those people out of there, okay?
[x]Kyouko too because spearchains.
[x] Talk to...
-[x] Akane.
-[x] Kyouko.
[x]Armor up. Make no attempt to hide. Drop in front of them. Ako and Kyouko are on civilian recovery while Sayaka and Akane cover them/stop any gank attempts.
[x]You're stopping this. Right now.

EDIT: because Ugolino's plan is the same idea, but more Sayaka-ey

Diplomacy time this isn't. We've got surprise on our side (assuming Ako isn't gonna go CURSE YOUR SUDDEN BUT INEVITABLE BETRAYAL), and we need to get those civilians out of there.

But if you assume Akos betraying us, than nothing about the situation has to be true, because she may have been lieing from the start. So we may be about to murder a bunch of innocents in that case.

If we dont trust ako, carefull scouting at least would be imperative.

Sure, except there are only so many ways to interpret five magical girls, a bunch of familiar barriers, and unconscious civilians on the ground.

I'm 75% certain Ako is on the level. 25% is enough to warrant keeping an eye on her, though, and assigning her something else than fighting proper.

Whether Ako's lying or not, they aren't innocents if they're feeding people to familiars. We're justified in charging in, here.

(If Ako's lying, I think the likeliest scenario is that this is a setup, she's working with them, and is going to turn on us once we're committed. I doubt she's lying, though - there are plenty of ways to ambush us that don't have the nasty snag of live familiars involved).

We don't have much time to wait around, croaker. The Miki facetank strategy is probably the right call here- the worst case scenario is witches hatching midfight since they're wildcards.

No time to think or scout.

People are in danger. We know what we must do.

In Ugo we trust!

[x] Ugolino.

This is going to add more trauma to our cart.

To quote the words of a certain "Jack" from Fight Club:

I am Moid's smirking vengeance.

[x] Plan Ugo.

Watch as they're all Skadi familiars.

Would quite possibly only result in base-skadi, minus elanore and whatever the teeth were. May be beatable, assuming we dont end up with five in one barrier. And even then, we may have a chance if the go after each other first, but have to play it clever.

What are the chances that, assuming Ako is lying about the situation, the unconscious people lying outside the mini-barriers are actually victims that the other MGs are in the process of rescuing from the familiairs? Granted, it's a long shot, but making sure would probably ease Sayaka's conscience somewhat. Plus, we'd see whether or not Ako's Ex is really participating or not.

Sayaka and company are already outnumbered by Meguca. It's a 4v5 fight if Ako stays on our side and 3v6 if she does end up betraying us. While I'm confident that the Mitakihara crew have the Tokyo crew beat by sheer quality, quantity has a quality all its own. Make no misake, this will be a tough fight. We are quite literally relying on our armor/skills/healing to bridge the gap enough that the Mitakihara crew can pull out a win here. This isn't a "Oh, we'll roll over them no problem" style fight like the Emiko or Sukyuo encounters.

And that's ignoring that the Mitakihara crew are hamstrung by the unconcious people littering the ground. WE have to care about aiming our attacks, THEY do not. With this many complications in the fight already, the last damn thing I want to toss in is a fucking witch or two trying to kill both sides AND the civilians regardless of the strength of the witches. All that does is turn a tough fight into a 3 way clusterfuck.

Yeah. My vote is that we call homura if ako goes traitor. I think its enough of a complication to warrant a call in.

One thing in particular still bugs me about this. Why are they here, in Mitikahara, doing this, and not back home in their own teritory? And why, after us not fighting a single familiar for ~3weeks, are there now 5 here in close proxiimity? (ok, 2 things now that I think on it)

I fear Ako could still be betraying us. The Tokyo girls could indeed be farming familiars exactly as she says they're doing, but purely with the intention of luring us into a response. 6 vs 3, with the advantage of surprise, might be a risk they're all willing to take for newer, less contested teritory.
Call me paranoid, but I'd rather have Ako and Kyoko heading into different barriers, rather than together. I like Ako, I *want* to trust her, but this just smells too much like a trap.

Anyways, bandwagon sounds best:

I think they're in Mitikahara because it's safer- unlike Tokyo, the meguca here haven't devolved into a seventy-three-way gang war. And as for why we haven't encountered familiars outside of barriers... my guess would be it's an OOC reason- repeated familiar fights would get dull and repetitive fast, and seriously drag out the quest. And there are a few ways to get five familiars in one place (capture them separately and drag them together, or kill a witch and leave five of the familiars in its barrier alive, for example).

That's not to say that it couldn't be a trap, but there are reasonable explanations for these things.

"Five girls, near five smaller barrier entrances...and with a few unconscious people around them.

Akane is the first to reach it, and as soon as she does, she stops. "...Ako wasn't lying."" - Moid

So that is 5 civies dead, right?
