I will say now that I like a lot of these options. Whoever wins, this should be interesting. Personally I'm hoping for Aqua-Lass or Bookish!

Eh, since it seems that my summons idea won't gain traction, would it be possible to convince you puppeteer guys to include fuinjutsu in your build? I think that it would combine very well; Jiraiya was able to seal Ameterasu, and could presumably unseal it as well. Thus, it stands to reason that techniques can be stored and unleashed again with fuinjutsu.

Even if you can't, I will tell you that, for some future-hypothetical 'imagine as a Jonin build' that eventually Puppeteers inevitably pick up Fuinjutsu. They usually don't start with it, or use the basic sorts of seals and their knowledge of mechanics to work it, but at higher levels, in order to surpass the limits of plain 'working parts' a lot of stuff is done with seals.
Okay, I can reveal that the Tsuchikage candidate is said to have a seal on their forehead that connects/corresponds to their puppets, which they can then control mentally, without strings (though who knows what limitations there are in that regard, they are S-rank, so it might come with drawbacks that they compensate for by being a Ninja badass).

Diseases are a horrible way to fight. Well, I suppose that they could be effective as very, very dirty warfare (to the point where we're caught, we'll likely get smacked by a major village). Poisons, however, can also be used effectively by puppets.

Not really. I can't really think of anything that would be changed by Kisame being female, and apart from being enormously powerful, I consider him a terrible person for someone to model themselves after. Mostly because he's a terrible person.

I was tempted to make one of my OCs here. She's a puppeteer who has a large bodyguard puppet that can also basically become piloted power armor, as well as a handful of bird-like spies.
She also kind of has a crush on her puppet, partially due to it being designed to be rather lady-like!
Nothing says the carious jutsus don't accelerate the incubation time and magnify the effects to where they are effective in combat! And honestly, I wouldn't mind picking up puppetry later on, either. It's just that the disease and poison focus right of the bat I like a bit better.
That's actually the reason why I don't like Fish Girl all that much. Reminds me too much of Kisame.

Sure, but puppets are self replicating and in my opinion, more reliable. Sure, you can always learn more jutsu and techniques, but that has a limit. There are always more puppets to make.

Her name was Yuuko Akizuki and she looked like this:
Her main puppet was called Yukari, who looked like this:
And her birds looked like this:
She did lots of maintenance and worked hard to perfect Yukari. Yuuko also enjoyed cuddling with Yukari, brushing her hair (or having her hair brushed by Yukari) and sparring. The birds were, of course, optional suicide bombs/poison deliverers. Oh, and with her Transform Other Jutsu she could change her puppets too!

Bah! Kisame is awesome. There's no pleasing some people.
Self-replicating? Are they, I thought puppeteers had to make them.
More reliable? Not really, you could lose your entire stock in one battle.

You're not wrong, but she put a lot of hard work, sweat, and love into her creation. It also ended up being rather pretty when she was finished. So yes, she has a crush on the inanimate object she herself controls.

That said, she prefers other girls over her puppet. It's kind of like... a close friend whom she finds attractive and yet is too distant/different for there to be anything mutual (like the fact that she's literally an inanimate object).
It was meant to be cute and creepy.
