A Song of Dragons and Duty (Dragon Age Quest - 3rd Thread)

We did talk about why we needed to split them up already. They are too exposed in large numbers there is no way to support that much in any one place. Disease and illness is too high of a risk. And food is not available to them if they stay in such a large group. Our job is to ensure the survival of as many of them as possible not to pander.

As for the city the whole point of the meeting is to figure that out going in and just demanding things will only make us more of a despot. The dice already screwed us on that though it shouldn't have been a factor in the first place.
Ok, my concern is if the reasoning isn't included in the vote properly, then it won't be applied when the dice are rolled / the update is written.

I was hoping rather than just leaving blank options you @Ebanu8 would generate some actions we could choose from. that was the one major part of the quest I disliked the most

I've got to agree with @Darkcrest, @Ebanu8, right now we simply don't know what we need, what we can build, how expensive it is to hire a soldier, etc. I highly suggest speaking to @Ironforge and making something similar to the first few posts of his Story Threads of @thales other quests;

Rise Quest [Story Archive] [Finished]

So considering how the story of the game has gotten to such a huge state and covers many threads...

Hadrian of the House Rutheen (WHF & GoT) (Story Thread)

Name Links Main Thread [Thales Run] [Old]...

They give us a complete view of the quest from a map of our lands and what's in them, a character sheet, all of the different possible buildings and improvements we can build and their costs and requirements, etc.

Right now we have a critical lack of information.

Ah, I see. Next turn, I'll go working on the troop costs and options.

Any suggestions on how much each unit type would cost? Spearmen, swordsmen, pikemen, light cavalry, for example?

He does bring up a valid point; do specify the reasoning in the vote, otherwise I might go a different route when I write the next turn?

we can't really expand the farms as Salthaven doesn't have much arable land. it is the reason we had to invest in terraced farms in one of the earlier threads for the quest unless Ebanu8 wishes to change that going forward

Rice and other grains are a staple crop and food source for a reason. They provide the majority of food for most people. The fishing, ranching, and dairy products are more to expand the available sources than to become the main source.

I have a bright idea! Why not introduce the Fereldens to the wondrous, glorious staple that is fried rice? Ye gods! I want my rice! 😋 :rofl2:

were would rice even come from I don't think it grows any were on the continent of thades and I doubt transcontinental trade is thing yet ? ,also rice is a water incentive crop do we even have the right environment to grow it ?

We already have rice several of the terrance farms are growing it. Also the continent has every single biome possible and is huge of course rice would be there.

Well, time for the vote tally.

-[X] Write-in: Request 1000 Gold to buy more food from other places. Request a larger supply of seeds to plant more farms. Request ranch animals (cows, goats, etc) to breed more herds for consumption.
--[X] Ask if he could also send some experts who could teach our people how to take care of those ranch animals. The bannorn will sufficiently compensate them for this task and take care of their arrangements while they are teaching here.

-[X] Talk to the Keeper about splitting the elves up in order to lower the impact and threat to them from violent riots and help the elves short term to get more used to those new lands and explain to them how they can make the transition less painful for everyone involved.

-[X] Talk to the Keeper about learning more about the Daelish and offer to have the Ancient Elven architecture book transcripted and them given a copy.
-[X] Begin farm expansions with the elven volunteers and others serving as workers and settlers for the new ones and expanded lots
    --[X] Economic council dice
