A Song of Dragons and Duty (Dragon Age Quest - 3rd Thread)

Guys it is more important to get our allies first before we move onto attack. So talking to the other Bann and Sister would be a far more valuable use. We gain more power for our side and ensure we can wether the incoming danger.

@bryanfran36 @Gachmara can we get your vote for these actions.

We aren't attacking anything, we are figuring out who our enemies are. Allies are all well and good but we need to know who the opposition is if we hope to stand against them.

And allies make that easier to deal with. And yes we are attacking people this is just the first step in that process.

We still need at least one more vote to get 4 for the allies or else the worst outcome happens. The other option only has 2 votes. I see other people reading the quest one of you cast a vote.
You need to select the option for only newest vote or else every vote is counted even when they change their mind.

And so we have a winning plan. Will get to work on the next day.

Voting Participation
Alright guys, here's an important announcement to make: We were just barely able to pass the 4-vote mark for the latest vote, and because of that we narrowly avoided a failure that would have negatively impacted the progression of the Quest. However, considering how low voting participation was, I must stress the importance of fulfilling the 4-consenting vote mark in order to ensure a vote is taken and we succeed.

Do note that this is the first and last time I will give such a chance like this. If next time we have a vote and I'm not getting proper participation, I will not hold your hand; the 'I-don't-care' rule will come into effect, and we will fail the quest. I repeat, we will fail the quest next time if there's no proper participation. I will not say this again.

I never was fond of that rule and it's only become more irritating for me since participation has been dipping. If this holds out then eventually, we just won't have enough people in the quest to not have the MC become apathetic to life in general.

i just got back from work my vote would have been

Guys the vote was already called. It is nice that you are interacting now but it needs to be during the vote as well not just after.

Omake Rule Changes
Metaknowledge OMAKE Rule:
Thales and I have discussed this and when to introduce it and decided to do it now. Both to raise participation from you guys (likes are awesome but cannot progress the quest) and to give you a broader "behind-the-scenes"-look into our DA universe, we now have the following rule: the players may write two OMAKES (decent grammar/length/reasonably IC) between each update and we'll give you one bonus canon OMAKE in return, along with the regular update. The canon OMAKE will include metaknowledge and will be useful to you to plan and understand our DA universe better (a universe which is not the canon DA one! :D).
Guys, I don't normally make a fuss about such things, but I would really appreciate if someone makes Omakes to brighten up the story and world-building in this Quest. With Quest participation dropping, I'm hoping to distribute some rewards to bring the Quest forward. However, I will be changing the Omake rule; for each good omake written, I will award bonus rolls in this game. If the Omake plot proves to be good, I'll even award additional bonuses, like troops and infrastructure, or even increased benefits to our allies in Ferelden.

Furthermore, you can even influence character development, increase his stats or give him positive traits or remove negative traits. For example, you can write Adaron to be more skilled in certain weapons or gift him arms and armour. You can also attempt to increase his martial stat through, say, an omake about a training session. As for character pairings, depending on my plans for the quest, I may or may not canonise said pairing (Aedan's already taken, mind you).

You can also influence future events regarding other factions, say, the Dalish in the Brecilian Forest, if need be. Do note that while I have a soft spot for downtrodden factions like the Dalish, or simply wish for good things, I'd also like for the Omakes to be as realistic as possible. Creating new factions is not out of the question, but again, it must be within realistic circumstances to be canonised in the quest.

And perhaps some basic rules for existing factions:
  1. Destroying existing factions is a big no-no; only in the main quest story will they be destroyed according to story plot.
  2. No killing off of characters, good or bad - will only happen in story plot, again.
  3. You can strengthen or weaken factions, within reasonable context.
For bonus rolls, it will be influenced by word count; for 500 words, I will award a +10 bonus roll. For 1k words, I'll award +20, and so on. Please do not bombard me with massive blocks of text that's hard to read - break it down to segments if need be. If you can't post it here, PM it to me or send me the link via PM, and I'll check in my spare time.

Other than that, you are pretty much free to write Omakes in any place in Thedas in any premise. Let your creativity flow freely, and claim the omake bonus rewards you believe rightfully yours. With that, I wish you all well, and I hope for your safety and wellbeing in the midst of this Covid-19 pandemic.

This miniturn is starting to drag on, pretty sure it's become bigger than the quest so far..
Yeah, I noticed. I originally intended for it to help establish your power base, but considering it dragged on for so long, I am beginning to feel fatigued trying to drag it on.

We can establish a power base through various turn actions, you don't need to drag this on in an attempt to force us to quickly get a well rounded/ solid foundation for a powerbase.
it's usually better for this stuff to take time, otherwise, it feels cheap/ like it cam too easily and cant be trusted.

I suppose you do have a point. Will take that into note, next time I make a miniturn like this.
