I misread the rule, actually. You're right: it wouldn't help. The person with the max of a stat can't use the boost. Which means that an O4 with an O5 set can get a total of 9, while the O5 can only use the default +1, for a total of 6.

I read it as meaning the super skill file is not a bonus, but a supplement. It makes your skill equal to the greatest. But re reading it, it does technically say it's a bonus.

Which I took to mean the bonus is added to the skill check, not to the skill.

Well, even if Genon did mean the skill, that's not going to happen for ideally obvious reasons (it involves putting them in minions and making them superpowered.)

Warrens are intended to be a good biological living quarter for genetically engineered creatures who are used to sleeping in vats of goo inside a dark cave lit only by the bioluminescence of the bacterial symbiotes of the plant/fungal/animal machinery that creates and heals them.

I'm sincere about thinking more bases are always good. But I'm a tad proprietary about the mines and tbh... like... emotionally I don't want it to be tainted by robots and to just become yet another robot swarm. I bought it for the purpose of opening up space for biological minions. Logically, however, I acknowledge that it doesn't matter. So I just want there to be stuff like more labs and living quarters rather than more robot making machines and more space for the Navi's that we already have a shitton of space for.

That makes sense to me, the mines are in the public eye So having abomanations of science around would be odd.

Dedede in Kirby always gets possesed. What If the corpse of dedede comes back to life or gets possesed by the proto-pillah or something.

Wel that would be the case If Master Viper Jamieson hadn't burned DeDeDe and Waldo in a vikings burial.

Further, whoever did this was extremely thorough, causing sufficient brain damage that the two of them won't be restorable to any state remotely resembling what they were pre-incident without either extensive reconstruction (at which point you're basically just making a wetware AI in their image), or an external backup (which neither of them had).

Ironically, the Comprehensive Risk Assessment Model couldn't assess the risk of stripping open walls to insert new - and apparently unprotected wiring -, of CRAMming donuts into the various orifices of the core hardware nor, indeed, of having a litter of kittens in a conveniently sized but noisy cubby. Thankfully for the base, fire alarms and water sprinklers were installed first. Regrettably, this saved neither CRAM nor the cat minion inside it from a painful, fiery death.

I don't agree, it will depend on the targets we encounter and the actions we take. The more of a threat we pose the more forces will be allocated toward us. Also, by now I'm in agreement w/ the guy who forestalled my initial minion rush that minion rushes kind of harm the spirit of the game.

Unlike with robots, you can't stick biological minions underground and keep them that way if you expect them to be happy and functional. My company is already a bioengineering company and the minions that I, at least, intend to make will be capable of at least some degree of camouflage. Plus, the mining operation is separate and not staffed by normals, or at least won't be after the hired workers expire, to my knowledge.

The strongest fighting unit we have is the Buzzkill, +41 each. 1000/41=24. For a low-level combat DC. So you might have a point where we won't need thousands if we never go after anything bigger than small game. But Ih oneslty don't see that happening. I'm almost certain that at some point we will have to fight a high level fight that "can very easily breach six digits", 100000/41=2400
And I disagree, minion rush is built into the mechanics, and there are very few Mad Scientists without a legion of mooks serving them.

Biological creations can stay underground if you make them happy with staying underground. You are literally designing them, and there are plenty of living things that never see the light of day so it's not like being alive is antithetical to living underground.

"Some degree of camouflage" is not nearly as good as not being in sight at all. Hence, that place will probably be among the first casulties, having been found out first by some "lucky" joe.

All big corporations of any respectable size have server rooms. Fairweather Agricultural is no different. As for the robots, they won't be seeing any of the robotic minions, they are all busy working on the bunker, all the workers will be seeing is the maintence bays, which honestly could be used for any machine theoretically. Perhaps we are planning on making some better farming equipment, that falls well within what Fairweather Agricultural does.

Now compare those with building of hundreds of bedrooms (the least suspicious of possible biological housings). Why are we going to be having so many people living here underground, behind super tight security? Thats going to raise way more eyebrows than normal buisness stuff that are server rooms and robot maintence bays.

I think that for the high-level fights we may have to start investing into combat vehicles...
 
If we do want to go into space, I think we should first create a way to mass-produce magnetic monopoles, because I think that could allow us to recreate the absorbic devices from The Killing Star, which convert thermal energy into matter, and it would let us deal with our waste heat issues without having to build bulky heat radiators on our craft.
