The Power of Our Lives:
Jace Malcolm POV
You looked at the x-ray and then took a moment to think about what you saw. Your mom and dad were looking at the X-ray as well, as they had tears in their eyes. Everything was wrong. You were a child, supposed to be without any health complications.
Instead, there was this. "As you can see, the tumor is near the brain stem and the Cerebellum. At its current position, we cannot operate on it. But that is the bad news. The Good news is, that it became malignant and that there is a chance, that as he grows up, the tumor will be able to ve operated on." The Doctor stated as he looked at it. "We still only have theories as to how this happened. But there is so much now that we know about cryogenics and space travel… that we cannot rule out that extended cryo sleep may have been the cause."
At that, your mom hugged you. "It's going to be okay Jace."
But you weren't sad.
You were determined.
-----------------------
You were sitting on the ground watching the new sun of your home set, as you looked at the pile of rocks that you stacked. Every moment you watched and waited. You were not sick, that was just because they didn't seem to understand what you were doing. There was… so much more that was in this world that you could see, and here…
So much more was possible. Even when in space, you couldn't understand. Now you could.
You held out your hand and focused. There was energy, and your head felt like it was burning, lava was being poured and being released from the skull that wanted to make you die. In fact, as your vision blurred, you could only feel faint and fading.
But you ignored it. You wanted to… No… Needed to succeed. To prove you were not crazy.
To anyone.
The Rock began to shake and move, as your eyes widened. Then the stone rose, levitating with power as it spun around. It was a sight that was insane to anyone on Earth. But there was so much that you had seen, done… that nothing could possibly comprehend.
You were doing something that should be impossible.
Floating.
But then you passed out. The pain is too much.
--------------------------------------------------------
You awoke looking at the doctor. "I told you I wasn't crazy."
"That's what I was afraid of." He said as he looked at the charts. "You aren't the only one Jave, and we need to make sure you won't die from this."
"How many?" You asked.
There was a pause. "Two hundred. Now get some rest Jace. We have more tests to do this morning." He replied.
When you drifted to sleep. you saw the others waiting. And they were happy that you were finally among them.
