You know... I wonder if we can create Dhar sinks. We can't banish Dhar like Hysh can, but we can channel Dhar directly. Perhaps we can manipulate it to move it somewhere we don't care about. Pick spots and draw the Dhar to those spots. Those spots then become powerful nexuses of necromancy and our fields stop being poisoned.

[] Raid Blue Tooth Goblins

Think we need to do this as they attack us last turn, might not have done anything to us, but still, they have gotten bold, need to beat the shit out of them to make sure they dont attack again

It wasn't actually the Blue Tooth. It was from a different group. Sorry, should have clarified.

I mean the best way to store it might be to... make warpstone , but that is marked at dangerous. The greater problem is that we cannot get rid of all the Dhar even if such a thing could be done since our society runs on Dhar. What we need is some kind of wards to keep Dhar out of people's houses and towns, the places they actually live and a means to periodically scrub them off the fields before the tomatoes mutate into carnivorous tomato-men

Ok, but could pre-collecting Dhar using infrastructure make producing warpstone safer?

Then the warpstone can go into vaults where it's corruption effect is minimized.

[X] Dhar be gone V1
-[X] Brainstorm Dhar Countermeasures
-[X] Collect taxes from new territories
-[X] Scout surroundings.
-[X] Attempt to get books on Light Magic.

In short the idea here is to move away from getting a single jorneywoman trying to handle all our Dhar, as it is simply untenable and at the same time bring the new territories in and scout so we do not get caught out with walls half-built.

The right to build walls was something nobles sold to towns for sums high enough they could launch campaigns as they having them changed the relations between the town and the nobles with the town being able to deal with a lot of minor issues like bands of robbers on its own and in case of a conflict between the two the nobles needed to siege the town.
We are going one step beyond that and funding the new walls out of the existing tax income us charging a tax to them will not be a issue as we can point to their new walls and the grain rations they are now getting.

To be fair, that's in irl Europe. In Northern China nobles and officials were typically a lot happier to see walls getting built on account of all those damn horse nomads.

Greenskins probably make the calculations lean more towards the Northern China side than the Europe side.

[X] Plan: Continuing to Upgrade New Territories
-[X] Build More Libraries
-[X] Build More Bathhouses
-[X] Attempt to get books on Light Magic.
-[X] Brainstorm Dhar Countermeasures

Basically, I think we should expand our libraries and Bathhouses into the new territory. We seized it from a Brettonian, which likely means that the peasantry didn't have many opportunities afforded to them for an education or for hygiene.

It also likely means the amount of taxes we'll get will be low compared to giving it a turn or two to get people to pick up trades from our libraries. . .

I think this might upset the citizenry since we would not be doing any integration, taxing them is integration, getting them to bathe is improving their standard of life.

dhar in your food sounds approximately as healthy as lead in your water supply, so let's work on getting rid of it

pointing to the walls being built as where the taxes are going should still help, though.

Do... Do you think that winning hearts and minds isn't a part of integrating people into a polity?

It says integrate the territories not the people, I took that to mean make them understand and obey the laws including paying their taxes. But if we are allowed to use, more infrastructure is OK. Still think the scouting is worth it. It's not like they will be expecting bathhouses, but they will be expecting not to end up in a goblin's stew pot, that is the base requirement for government in this day and age

Combining new taxes with bathhouses to integrate our new lands while we scout as the walls are still under construction.

That sounds an awful lot like integrating people. We're not making the land understand laws or pay taxes.

[X] Plan: Continuing to Upgrade New Territories

There are two things we could be doing here: make the people like us and make the people obey. Integrating territories only require that they do the latter. When we were building bathhouses in our original territory we were not integrating them harder, we were improving their quality of life.

First off, obeying without liking means a lot of unnecessary disobeying. Second, integration can also mean integrating them into our culture, or integrating them into our social services, or plenty of other things that go beyond sending cops and charging taxes. Seeing as we are, in theory, trying to not be a regular vampire faction, it would be good to keep the nicer interpretations in mind.

Fair enough, just pointing out where my confusion came from, we have had an infrastructure build order and it did not look like integration, integration was about law, food, necromancers and taxation.

[X] Plan: Continuing to Upgrade New Territories

I don't think that collecting taxes without enforcing laws is really the way to go. So, I guess, delaying again.

[X] Plan Planning to Plan a Plan.
-[X] Attempt to hire a Light Wizard.
Need more of these imo.

-[X] The Riddle of Gromril
Time sensitive.

-[X] Brainstorm Dhar Countermeasures
Considering last turns write-up this is a must.

-[X] Collect taxes from new territories
Legislative directive.

edit: Didn't see "Enforcing laws" so went with tax collection.
