Wolf Spider (Worm) (Complete)

PHO could be good but I'm a tad worried, if Greg is the defense and Emma the prosecutor in Arachnes thread... still, if Danny decides to get in on it because he feels like he has to 'do something', he knows a thing or two about properly getting a message out, as he's just shown. Either way, it'll be good to get some perspective.

Okay, as far as it goes, I don't really think I'm "Nerfing" Skitter/Arachne, by the way.

In the same vein as the carrying spiders thing, I always had trouble suspending disbelief on the things Skitter in canon did with a single spider's thread. It's a strong substance, but I've walked through enough spider webs in my life that I just can't buy tripping people or tying them to chairs and stuff completely.

Having a variant on Parian's ability with that would go a long way towards helping alleviate that if that was part of the 'arthropodkinesis'.

I enjoyed this chapter, but I do have to think Pelter might be getting annoyed at being treated like a dogsbody at this point. Seems like Taylor orders her around for minor things that a non-cape could do a lot and only remembers to throw her a bone after the fact. (Like, "Hey, go prepare us dinner, oh, and you can come along too.")

Then again, if she is Coil's spy, I suppose she could deserve it a bit. Particularly after Danny is kidnapped since Taylor revealed he's her father.

That's because those weren't single spider threads. They were silk cords she made out of binding many spider threads together. Though, yes, it would take a lot of them to make that work.

Yeah, she does do that as well, but there are a fair number of points during the series where she's down to her last three spiders or something and doing mostly the same things. Wasn't a deal breaker during the series, but a bit tough to believe.

As far as that goes, it's because of her organizational expertise. She kinda-sorta runs the camp, so she deals with a lot of things that more arrogant capes would think, "Beneath them" even ones that ostensibly are part of a gang and really should know better.

Also I really hope this interlude comes out okay because I may have gone kind of overboard on certain sections. :p

(Not that it's like, that great, I just did too much work for minor aesthetic things in one part.)

E: It is done. until i get the urge to tweak the css more

But this makes downloading the fic or opening it in reader mode a pain. How will I read this on long train rides where there's no WiFi now? :'(

I'll probably be working on a text dump version of it, but it'll lose a lot of niceties, obviously. The Doc that this started from doesn't have a lot of changes made to it yet and there's like, little notes throughout it instead of stuff like the dates and usernames and so on that got worked in during the editing process.
