    [X] Plan spudman
-[X] Jaime will be exchanged for Ned, Sansa and any of his men still imprisoned by Lannisters. Robert's bastards and any family will have safe passage out of the city along with Ned's party. The other noble hostages stay with the army as 'insurance'. Tyrion and Kevan's sons' release can be negotiated if Cersei makes a counter-offer.
-[X] The North and Riverlands will also receive fair compensation directly from Casterly Rock's coffers for the damage caused and men lost.
-[X] You will also be given back Ice, that book 'proving' Cersei's incest and Littlefinger's head right the hell now.
-[X] The Northern host will not march on King's Landing.
-[X] Hostage exchange. Myrcella for an equal hostage (to be determined).
    [X] Plan CM 1.0
    [X] Plan Neutrality
-[X] Ned, Sansa, Ice and any still living men of our household are exchanged for Jaime and Kevan's sons.
-[X] Robb's army will withdraw to the Riverlands, thus giving the Lannisters a chance to deal with the Baratheons.
-[X] If, after a year, no Lannister attacks happen upon our territories, then Lannister men can be ransomed back. Tywin goes last.
-[X] Somewhat high but bearable reparations for all the losses.
-[X] As long as Cersei's line are on the throne, the North and all territories under its rule don't acknowledge the King of the Iron Throne as their sovereign.
[x] Tell Robb to keep all prisioners alive and treat them honourably. Demand to have Arya and Sansa return to Robb in exchange for Jaime and Tyrion (daughters for sons), Ned can go home in exchange for Tywin (Lords for Lords). Now, I think the Lannisters won't accept this if Ned/Robb just immediately declares for Stannis, so assure them of the North's neutrality and have them publicly forgive any and all perceived ills and treasons against the crown for now. This is a sucession crisis, the North has nothing to do with it.
    [X] Plan: Negotiate
    -[X] Opening offer
--[X] The Lannisters will surrender the throne to Stannis Baratheon and King's Landing to the Northern Army.
---[X] The Northern Army will refrain from sacking the city or invading the Westerlands.
--[X] Cersei will join a convent (or whatever the equivalent is).
--[X] The children will become wards of other Lords.
--[X] Gregor Clegane will be executed for his crimes.
--[X] Tywin will be offered the Black.
--[X] Jaime will be offered the Black.
--[X] Tyrian will abdicate his right to Casterly Rock and be ransomed. The gold going to the Riverlands to compensate them.
--[X] All other nobles will be ransomed. The gold going to the Riverlands in compensation.
-[X] Second offers (depending on what is not accepted).
--[X] If they won't surrender the city. Ned, his family, his retinue (Rob's bastards we know about included) and their possessions (Ice, ect.) will be granted safe passage to Northern lines.
--[X] Cersei will go into exile.
--[X] Tommen will go into exile (w/ Cersei).
--[X] Myrcella will go into exile (w/ Cersei).
--[X] Joffrey will go into exile (w/ Cersei).
--[X] Jaime will go into exile (w/ Cersei).
--[X] Tyrion does not have to abdicate Casterly Rock.
--[X] Kevan Lannister's sons are released without ransom.
    [X] Plan spudman
-[X] Jaime will be exchanged for Ned, Sansa, Arya (once found) and any of his men still imprisoned by Lannisters. Robert's bastards and any family will have safe passage along with Ned's party. The other noble hostages stay with the army as 'insurance'. Tyrion and Kevan's sons' release can be negotiated if Cersei makes a counter-offer.
-[X] Safe passage out of King's Landing for Ser Barristan (assuming he hasn't left already), regardless of where he goes.
-[X] The North and Riverlands will also receive fair compensation directly from Casterly Rock's coffers for the damage caused and men lost.
-[X] You will also be given back Ice, that book 'proving' Cersei's incest and Littlefinger's head right the hell now.
-[X] The Northern host will not march on King's Landing (for a number of months to be determined).
-[X] Myrcella as a hostage. An exchange of hostages could be on the table.
[X] You will all surrender yourselves unconditionally to the One True King of Westeros, Stannis of House Baratheon, First of His Name. In return, I will ask him to be merciful (huhuhuhu).
    [x] Plan WS
    - [x] We are winning - attack the westerlands and finish the threat once and for all. Avoid the bait that is negotiation!

    [X]Plan Hand of the King
    [X] Plan NN
[X]Ned negotiates a truce between Stannis and the Lannisters. Stannis takes the throne but his daughter marries Tommen so he will be the next king.
-[X] If, after a year, no Lannister attacks happen upon our territories, then Lannister men can be ransomed back. Tywin goes last.
-[X] As long as Cersei's line are on the throne, the North and all territories under its rule don't acknowledge the King of the Iron Throne as their sovereign.
-[X] Exchange of prisoners to take place halfway between our army and King's Landing, with Robb bringing as large an escort as he wants.
-[X] If they want Tywin, Tyrion, any of the others, etc. that is to be agreed upon with further negotiations once we're back with our army.
-[X] We won't execute any of the hostages who haven't committed obvious crimes until further negotiation (so we can't execute Tyrion, for example, but we can execute Gregor).
    [X] Plan Neutrality 1.1
-[X] Ned, Sansa, Ice and any still living men of our household are exchanged for Jaime and Kevan's sons.
-[X] Robb's army will withdraw to the Riverlands, thus giving the Lannisters a chance to deal with the Baratheons.
-[X] If, after a year, no Lannister attacks happen upon our territories, then Tywin and Tyrion can be ransomed back. The various other nobility can be ransomed back immediately. -[X] High reparations from the Westerlands and the Iron Throne.
[X] An escort for Ned, Sansa, any of our surviving household (if still alive), and Barristan, along with whatever personal items of ours we want (from Ice to Sansa's dresses, for all I care). We also want Baelish and Varys in chains with us.
-[X] Weregild for any of our household killed by the Lannisters.
-[X] In exchange, we give them back Kevan's sons and Jaime, and withdraw our army to the Riverlands.
-[X] Exchange of prisoners to take place halfway between our army and King's Landing, with Robb bringing as large an escort as he wants.

    [X] Plan Nazgul
-[X] Ned, Sansa and Ice will be returned to Robb unharmed.
-[X] "Baelish will be arrested and given to me to face trial for conspiring against the crown."
-[X] "Tywin and Gregor are to be sent to Dorne. You will flee to Essos with your children and a thousand gold dragons, to be taken back from Lannister vaults later. I mean, even if we leave you here in King's Landing, the Stormlander, Reach, and possibly the Dornish army - now that the defeat of the Lannisters is certain - will come to crush you. Tyrion will be released and made Lord of the Westerlands and rest of the PoW will also be released. Jaime can go to the Night's Watch if he confesses to fathering your kids, which will automatically remove them from any line of succession."
-[X]When she asks how she can trust us: "Need I remind you that I am a man of my word, and also don't want your children to suffer for your sins."
-[X]Add whatever monetary/land/mining deals are appropriate for repaying the damage their pillaging cost, and then a fuckton more, to be paid to the Riverlanders and the Starks
    [X] Plan spudman

Or it could blow up in our face because Cersei refuses to part with Myrcella? You're acting like this has no risks attached and that if the roll to get Myrcella fails everything will be completely fine with the rest of the negotiations.

If we don't pass the DC, she haggles. That's built into the plan. In which case we may offer one of the hostages we have.

The negotiations only blow up if we Crit Fail. And a Crit fail would do that regardless of what's in the actual plan.

So no. Really no added risk for the negotiations dissolving.

The DC might be a bit tougher for Cersei just accepting the deal outright, but that's why there's room for counter-offers and haggling.

I feel bad for Tommen, but there isn't really a chance of getting him. He's Joffrey's heir at the moment. Not going to happen.

Sure. Pushing too hard risks compromising the negotiations.
Crit fail is not the only way this could fail. You're asking for Cersei's only daughter. That's not something that she'd go, "Hmmm, who do you think she's worth?"

No, Cersei would immediately laugh and tell us to burn in the Seven Hells.

No, Cersei would immediately laugh and tell us to burn in the Seven Hells.

I did add the bit about her being safer as a hostage. Out of harm's way. And ooc points have been made for that. Good ones.

Also, in a discussion that from the start involves hostages and their exchange, proposing a new hostage is not a sudden surprise. I specifically leave room for haggling on that point, regardless.

If we don't pass the DC, she'll balk at giving up her daughter as a hostage at worse or haggle for one of the hostages we have.

Either way we can drop the point at the haggling stage if we want to defuse that.

But the negotiations dissolving completely at the first stage over this outside of a crit fail, especially when it's an 'additional' deal and not set in stone? I highly doubt it.

Anyway, I feel bad for Tommen, but there isn't really a chance of getting him. He's Joffrey's heir at the moment. Not going to happen.

This is what plan spudman is at the moment, right? Because it's not what's showing up in the tally program.

[X] Plan spudman

Considering the changes made to the plan and the info from Charcolt, I don't really see the problem with trying to gain Myrcella as a hostage, either for free or exchanging her with Kevan's sons.(doubt Cersei would agree to exchanging her with Tyrion, just on principle.) Even if she flat out refuses that part of the deal, we can simply agree to leave that part out and keep the rest, which is more or less the same as Plan CM. The dice might totally screw us over but that's a risk with both plans.

Edit: Vote closed. Plan Spudman wins.

In this Others-free canon Bran fell because he disobeyed his mother and climbed, only to be pushed out of a window. Bloodraven was Lord Commander of the Night's Watch but eventually died after years of service. The direwolf mother... well, that right there is a spoiler. The Craster line was just a throwaway joke when the real reason they're gone is I wanted to not deal with them in this particular story. We can pretend the Long Night ended with their extinction instead of any survivors left behind to return thousands of years later.
If Bloodraven died after years of service then the Targs likely got Dark Sister back.

Does this mean Rhaegar wielded that sword at the Trident? Or that it's still sitting in the vaults?

Maybe it's passed down the ranks of the Black Brothers. Like Longclaw. Bloodraven would know that's where it might be most useful.

8. The Lone Wolf Dies
You stifled as a sigh as you sunk into your chair and felt the weight leave your leg. Across from you sat Cersei Lannister and Kevan Lannister. Behind them were Ser Arys Oakheart and Ser Preston Greenfield of the Kingsguard, and to the side the scowling King's Justice Ilyn Payne. The man had not been pleased to be stripped of Ice, but had been in no position to argue. Skulking in the corner was Lancel Lannister.

Perhaps your fighting days were behind you, but the thick Valyrian broadsword - lighter than a blade half its size - had been a good and true companion.

"Let us put an end to this." Ser Kevan had regained some of his composure (assisted by a decent bit of grooming and the company of his eldest son). Cersei looked nothing less than a nervous wreck. Dark and heavy bags sagged beneath her once vibrant eyes, and her hand was shaking slightly. "The North possesses the means to sack King's Landing and render it to King Stannis' care. I have been found innocent before your gods-"

"Ser Barristan's grudge can hardly be called divine will," grumbled Ser Kevan. "A Knight of the Kingsguard's vows are for life. And no Kingsguard can fight against the crown."

"Perhaps. He certainly thought so, until your great-nephew expelled him from that order. And whether Joffrey has any claim over that order is to be decided in the coming months of war. Whatever else, the smallfolk believe I am innocent of your charges. You may hold me and my daughter here, but to harm us risks your hold on the city. And my son would not feel so merciful toward your brother, nephews, and sons."

Kevan's face reddened, but he said nothing. You continued. "Here are my terms: I and Sansa will leave King's Landing with a guarantee of safety for us and our company. We will be allowed to collect our belongings and any of King Robert's mistresses and bastards the crown is aware of."

At the queen said nothing, but she withdrew her trembling hand to beneath the table. "Further, Casterly Rock will offer fair compensation for the damage and deaths they have caused both here and in the Riverlands. I understand the crown is three million dragons in debt to your House. I trust that finding an appropriate sum will not be a problem."

You paused, thinking of Cat. "I want Littlefinger."

Cersei did not meet your gaze as she waved a hand at Ilyn Payne. The tongueless knight departed to fetch the Master of Coin. Or his head, perhaps, since she had sent her executioner.

"In exchange our host will withdraw from the Crownlands for two months, and we will surrender the Kingslayer to your custody." Now it was your hands clenching with anger. It sickened you, to release the man who had crippled your son and cuckolded your king. But he was the most valuable card and least valuable offer you could make. He would see justice soon enough.

The queen let out a deep breath she must have been holding. Ser Kevan was not so pleased. "And what of my brother? What of my nephew? My sons? You seek to declaw us! The mercy you offer is a delayed death."

"That is the nature of all mercies, Ser Kevan. But I am not without sympathy. You had no part in your niece and nephew's conspiracy, nor did your younger sons. But I cannot speak for your eldest." Lancel Lannister squeaked as your eyes fell upon him. "You conspired to see your king dead." You returned your attention to Ser Kevan. "I will see Martyn and Willem returned to their father's side, but Lancel must ride North with us and take the black."

The boy attempted to say something, but seemed frozen. His father looked equally lost. "I- I see."

"There is only one more matter to discuss. Further insurance that your House will honor our agreement."

"What more could you ask for you? You hold my brother and lord. You hold his heir. You have an army at our gates."

You nodded. "And I am certain of your good faith, Ser Kevan. But the queen has given me no cause for trust." You turned to her. "When our army is gone and the Kingslayer is yours again, our Houses will again be in conflict. I will not allow your venom to threaten my family again. If you choose to cloak your bastards in Robert's name then they are not Lannisters, and I will need a hostage to ensure honorable conduct in the battles to come."

"You want me." She said it in a soft, resigned voice. Gods, this woman really did think everybody wanted her no matter how many times they said no. "No. I'm taking Myrcella."

"No!" She rose, but Ser Kevan caught her wrist before she could act further. You left your chair as well, though it burned. "It is a kindness! Do you believe that Robert's brothers will be merciful should they take the city?" The memory of Rhaenys and Aegon's bodies, their blood staining crimson silk, was fresh in your mind. "I offered you a chance to see them to safety before. Now I offer your daughter a chance at life."

You paused. 'Dragonspawn.' "Should King's Landing fall to Stannis Baratheon, he will demand that I hand her to his custody. I will refuse him. I will disguise her appearance, hide her away, employ trusted men to her protection. I will find her a good man to marry, or see to her education as a Septa should she so desire. And should Stannis not be satisfied, I will call my banners in her defense."

The room was painfully quiet. At last Kevan Lannister spoke. "You would do this for one of us? After all that has happened between our Houses."

"I would."

Cersei Lannister slumped into her chair in an unusually unfeminine manner. Her cheeks were wet with tears. "She is my only girl."

"And she will live to be a woman, whatever comes."

There was a knock at the door, and Ser Ilyn entered. He shook his head. He needed no tongue to make his message clear.

Baelish had fled.

--

You left King's Landing that night, Sansa holding your hand to ensure that you would not fall. Jeyne Poole was at her side, pale-faced and red-eyed. You had found her at last in one of Baelish's whorehouses, where he had intended to... train her. A carriage held the belongings your family had brought from Winterfell. It held the book Jon Arryn had used to find the truth. And it held a number of black-haired and blue-eyed children with their mothers and half-siblings. It held a Princess, or what had once been one.

As King's Landing disappeared behind you, you met with Cat's uncle and his outriders. Banners began to appear. Only a few at first, but more and more until you had entered a sea of men and sigils. All of them had come here for you? You were just Ned. And then you saw them. Brandon? Lya?

But Bran's hair had never been so red, his eyes so blue. He and your sister were gone.

But you were not. The pack survives.

Robb greeted you with a grin that seemed almost too young for his face, even as Arya wrapped her arms around you. Unable to hold in your joy, you laughed.

"Hello father."

WHY? Why on earth would we go to war on Myrcella's behalf?

Okay we need to send letters to every major lord in the Vale right now telling them what Baelish did, that he betrayed Lord Stark, knew Joffrey was a bastard and we want his head, then we send the Blackfish to the Vale with 1000 warriors to track him down and promise Robb to Ysilla Royce. If Lysa makes a move for him she faces the Blackfish, who has connections in the Vale and a lot of respect there, and the Royces, who are not going to go to war for the man who betrayed Ned Stark.

You can run Littlefinger but we'll get you eventually. He's been unmasked as the coward, traitor and schemer that he is and sooner or later, that'll catch up with him.
I've already posted a plan to head him off from his most likely destination.

He's going to run to the Vale, and try to turn them against us in the war for protection. My plan heads that off

No one is going to go to war over Myrcella.

Stannis will grind his teeth extra hard, but he has no reasonable way of getting her once she's past Moat Cailan. And Renly won't care enough.
How can you possibly guarantee something like that? You're talking about the guy who will pursue his justice to the ends of the earth. If he ends up king he will demand that all of Cersei's bastards go to him, which pits us against him for no good reason whatsoever.

I guess we'll be getting Northern independence after all, just in the most pointless way we could have done it.

So... since we were playing as Rob, what happens now that Ned isn't dead and we're technically no longer the guy making the decisions?

Because Stannis will not possibly be able to convince an army to march into the cold barren North just because of his justice- boner over a little girl.
