We are a grey wizard that does well in the spotlight, and I want to be known as Lord Magister again.
And having this kind of reputation probably also helps get us more headpats

but we also have a huge list of BM spells in vanilla DL, as well as Rite of Way.

honestly not sure on the staff and i'm not certain on the exam but I definitely want to try for competitor to Volans.

Haven't updated the character sheet, but here are the details:

Mathilde has been reflected. Her entire body is a mirror image of its past form, while to her everyone else is a mirror image.

Unlike many arcane marks this isn't an ongoing mystical effect - she's just inverted left and right relative to her past self.

I'm pretty sure she was right-handed, or it wasn't specified, so she's now left-handed. Her heart sits on the right-hand side, rather than the left, and there are a few other anatomical oddities, essentially a complete case of situs inversus with no complications.

This are the below BM spells Mathilde hasn't learned yet. Of these Shadow of Death is not worth learning, because the FC version is strictly better, but the other spells are worth learning once we can shake AP loose.

I don't see a downside to going big here so might as well.

Fog is Mathy's bread and butter, with the MAP and being in the right place at the right time multiple times that won wars. This should be in theme and give the best results for the future when we have to help BeleBro with K8P.
 
Another advantage to going for the Volans reputation, is that we might be able to get Melkoth to let us windherd sooner.

Battle wizards might be aggressively competitive, but even they know better than to try to imitate someone of Volans' caliber.

A journeyman can do it, is one thing.

A fresh magister known to be a prodigy and all round super special snowflake is another.
 
Reflected: Since an accident with smoke and mirrors left and right are inverted for you. In addition to making you left-handed and giving your Situs Inversus Totalis (a complete mirroring of the organs) this has made your face appear subtly off to those who know you and significantly worsened your handwriting; although those last two effects will likely pass. It's unclear whether or not this is a true arcane mark.

Welp, the tradition of stuff that would make Mathy a scary vampire continues. Imagine a witch hunter trying to stab her in the heart, only to realize the heart is on the right.

Being stabbed through a lung instead of the heart would still be a near fatal injury, and Mathilde does not have the toughness to shrug off that kind of damage like a vampire might.

We want the fame that comes with a stellar magister exam, but the choice between volans and prodigy to me is largely about how much we want to annoy those in the know about it. Keeping things just this side of plausible so as not to strain our grey college connections seems best to me.

Also, a reminder about how mirroring actually works: it's not that you're flipped left to right, but rather that you're flipped front to back, which if rotated to face the same direction again will transfer that to left/right.

The linked condition makes it clear that it is left to right in this case
