Said limited time is because the shift in position has placed Cure Alcohol on the Doom Clock. Without intervention they will die, probably brutally.

...Right now, I'm just thinking, that at some point, our characters must have had a conversation along the lines of; "Well, if you wind up getting your wish of becoming immortal granted somewhere down the line, don't do something stupid like summon something that can keep you out of commission for a long time."
