As an idea for next time you run into something like this, you could always wonder about bringing up something a bit more fundamental yet. Even if Types don't have a concept of death, would they survive the death of their world? (ie, what happened to primate murder when Gaia died?) It's basically what's generating them right? And what we've seen from Gaia, those can very much be ended.
Or in other words, don't target the projections but the actual source?
Well it's just idle speculation though, not like it'll ever be covered canonically I imagine.
