True, except one problem. The warboss got away. Which, means we know have a wandering Goblin Chief with a small escort of bodyguards with him and a magical axe either somewhere inside the Hold itself or instead outside of it. That is a very bad thing to have. Which, is why until we have a body to bag, we will have to keep an eye on where that pseudo-warboss and wherever he may be.
Because of the way this guy rolls, it's gonna be the other way around.
That's why I said to go to a different site to roll the dice. It is not uncommon to have stuff like this happen all that much. You'll either get low to abysmal row's or good and crazy good way at completely insane times. I remembered a quest that rolled 4 nat 1"s in a row for instance. ANd some cases almost 2 nat 100's in a row. And the difference was a few minutes. Though I would like to join to.
Edit: You starting to get the idea yet.
Hey @Mad0Slayer, just how much of those bodyguards does oqet have exactly. Or, for that matter what kinda stats and treats do they have to turn a 65 into a 100 but then reduced to an 80.
And was the plan voted not allowed to bring in any more people than specifically said to join? If this is true, What were people thinking not letting us bring in an extra Hero or 2 in wrong!?
Why, waz a day were He Oqet Sharptooth was Warboss of the Oqet Sharptooth tribe(Amazing title Honnestly, would lov' to give the boy who said it some prizes) and warlord of the Large-cave mountain. And things had been going great to. He had carved a nice little hold for his boyz, and was having a go at them spear tribe boys and the troll riding boyz. Then, some large group of stunty's came strolling in like they owned the place and kicked his boy's out of that cave entrance. But, he wagered they would be dwelt with at a reasonable time. He was the warboss that would conquer this mountainnn, and cut the stunties of those damn beard's they so liked. Then the gits didn't die from the other gits, but THRIVE and they had the audacity to cut him off from the rest of the Boyz in the nearby ruins. This would not do he vowed, and so he got his boys ready for a WAAAAAAGH and crush them Beardy's good and propa.
Well, imagine his surprise when the stunties started attack his boyz. HIS boyz, (and presented a tasty opportunity to stab them in the back of course) so he got his other Boy'z and ambushed them at their bridge thingy. And it FAILED, why the audacity to win against him made him burn green with hatred that did. And then his boys (and the stupid gnoblars) started fighting him and each other(without his permission too!) and then the Stunty king was there trying to get to him. He taught that stunty himself a lesson that day, right one to, and even got back his favorite axe, slasher. (which he looted from some dead stunty's grave, not that he needed it.) And know he was on the run with no help but some loyal boyz, no plan besides don't die, and an axe. This was going to be fun, he could just feel it.
That was only thanks to 4-5 dice that rolled really high, the rest as seen with my case aren't nearly so generous. And hey, there's nothing wrong with a truly random dice roll. It sure makes it more fun and less aggravating.
Wait, shouldn't reduced numbers have already set in for oqets fighters because by the start of the fight there were barely anymore than 220 of the buggers after the ambush. And they fought us and 1700 odd gnoblars?
Wait, shouldn't reduced numbers have already set in for oqets fighters because by the start of the fight there were barely anymore than 220 of the buggers after the ambush. And they fought us and 1700 odd gnoblars?
As for the escape, only about 600-1000 Gnoblars were in your way and Oqet's broken up into six groups (Their Dc's and Casualty rolls did not factor much in the overall scheme of things other than a barrier from how disorganised they were, which is why you did not lose anyone on their rolls) As for Oqet and his fighters having their debuff removed it was a case of numbers for both your groups as you were both overall smaller from the original fight so there was no debuff for either group.
Well, at least they're less than a hundred altogether, so some will be bound to die off before they become too much of a menace. As for the numbers: since it's fairly blatant that at least on this level we have 18,000 all told. So, if we go and say 8,000 died then roughly 10,000 goblins remain. Which is split between 2 possible numbers either the 2,700 in the clan ironforge hall and 1,500 in the rune hall. The results leave us at 4,200 for the dark spear, and 5,800 for the other tribe which 1,800 guards just for the bridge leaving the engineering guild with 4,000 all told. Granted, I'm not counting the upper halls or caves because the latter isn't mentioned besides them being depleted for 5 or so turns and the former because we aren't that much of a wazzock. Especially with what that means for our supply lines. And I'm starting to think they are all bluff considering they just tried to launch an assault and it got chopped off with the head of the idiot who thought that it was a smart move in the first place.
Say, @Mad0Slayer, can we go and send our guys to the runehall and clearing out the caves while afterwords trying to launch an attack on the clan halls next like what happened in this turn with the northern part of the hold? Since the only way the dark spears could falsify those numbers is if they had more from other places but those are only the caves that aren't exactly full much because of the events of turn 2 that essentially depopulated those caves, and while they could get more besides that we currently hold the accessway for them to reinforce their holdings at least half of it anyway. If there were more then you would need to get rid of all of those extra goblins in the other tribe and move over. Otherwise, the very numbers you sent for the guys(excluding caves, tunnels, or the next tear of the hold. Though I doubt that will be a problem come the next floor, but we aren't even kinda there yet.
Sorry, if I sound demanding. I'm just very excited to see an end to the literal saying we need to clean out our house before we can help out others. That and its starting to get exhausting doing this when everybody is focusing so much time on Rings and Grudges, Which is good, but, come on, give this quest a chance to grow. I also realized our king is more alike with Borri Starbolt than I had believed. Especially, the way that it ended the first time, and what we got now.

The issue with this quest, is that we're reclaiming our hold, rather than working with a hold and exploring. For expansions; I believe we've taken all the 'northern' halls. Runehall should not be a problem now. Currently the Grobi are in an extreme civil war; and cannot attack us again (we're considered the big boss to go up against; and they won't try anything until they unite the armies; with Oqet I believe he has escaped the hold with our cousins hunting him down, but I can't be sure). I've petitioned for a unity/waugh!!! mechanic, with a 10 year scale. Each year the greenskins will roll to see how well they've gone. If they roll well, even critting it, they only gain 1 point. if they fail the roll, or we launch a strike, it can either set them back by 1, or all the way to 0 depending if its a crit fail, or we roll really well/deal with the biggest warlord.
There's a lot we do have planned for this quest, and I look forward to contributing to it, we just need to get this underway and over and done with.
Theoretically, we could also start acting like a normal hold quest after reclaiming this level/deep, as we can wall off the entrances/exits, and slowly reclaim the hold in the background so long as the Waughh!!! number is kept in check.
I'm currently pushing for the reclamation to be hurried up
The same thing with me, and to be honest I wouldn't mind letting us get our engineering hall and let's us focus on the rest of at least the first level instead, and actually, I need to rethink some plans of mine with this intel, sorry.
No worries and I am excited to see where this goes too, as for the goblins it should not take to much longer to clear them as their civil war is still raging close to their towns (Their rolls have not been kind to them) So you have a good while before any issue occurs from them and I kind might just run with their current rolls as I really want to flesh out your sect of dwarfs and get the ball rolling for this.

Sure, slayer, if you really want to get this ball rolling and start making your own culture, civilization, and even history. Go right on ahead, it's clearly something you want and I have no intention of trying to stop you.

Edited by Me/Mad0Slayer A talk in the dark
Finally housed in proper chambers (your former tent now claimed by 'her majesty') you lurched through the stone hall, Rothgar and your guards eying you carefully for signs of faltering. After a nasty fall earlier in winter (it wasn't your damn fault you slipped!) they'd all been rather wary of you 'soldiering on', even attempts to threaten Rothgar with 'apprentice errands' hadn't helped matters, the lad merely staring you down. Good maybe you were teaching him something...
After finally reaching your desk, you grumbled after an attempt to reach up for a copper plate, your missing eye spasmed making you fall back (painfully) into your chair. Without even noticing he was there, the tall gaunt form of Johngrim came into view bringing it down for you. He gave a nod to your guards and Rothgar who quickly vacated, the latter sneaking off with some ale you'd hidden under the bed. Ancestors damn that priestess for banning 180 proof liquor till you could stand properly again!
"Eye still hurts?" The 'ranger' beside you brought up quietly, before reaching into his own waistcoat, withdrawing a small flask of Shatnar's. Your eye glistened at its amber contents as he poured you both a shot. 'By Thungni they only made 10 barrels a year how did..?' You stopped your line of thought eying the pistol pocking out behind his coat. You didn't know how he got one, but it was a rare type. Used metal cylinders rather than lead shot and powder. "I've done some communications with a few 'friends' of mine." The ranger stated eying you carefully. "The blade Oqet used on you used to belong to an up and coming warlord of Clan Eshin, Reekit Quickpaw." You glanced at your sickly eye floating in a jar, the green dagger familiar in your mind. "I'd be wary of going after the greenskin while he remains outside the hold." He eyed the crackling fireplace warily. "Reekit likely wants to settle the score."
You paused for a moment thinking about it. "If you are certain that there's a good chance of that I-I think it would be better to leave the two to their squabbles. Last thing we need is to gain the attention of the rats." You gulped some ale before shrugging "They're thaggi to the last of them, but they've never had the strength to oppose us." You looked to a ruined fresco of the mountains of mourn and the countless lost holds. "Hopefully they'll just go up against the Dawi Zharr again, and put an end to them both."
You didn't hear the quiet rustle from the chimney, but after a moment Johngrim took his hand away from his vest and upended the glass. "

This was a part of the main update, but it kind of got cut because it did not fit for the option. (The Rewrite kind of deviating what was there so it instead of going here instead to portray some info instead of reworking the different entries.)
Well enjoy guys and will have the update out later today 1-3 hours from now.

You watched with growing dread as another stack of stone slab's were lowered to the ground as Rothgar organised his fellow beardlings, gulping you glanced up at the ceiling while sending a prayer to the Ancestors before turning to your unofficial apprentice, "Is this the last of it?"
Rothgar glanced at you before nodding, "Nearly, though I could have sworn there was more…
"Of course there was but it wasn't getting done and the shoddy reports done these last years have made things a mess," Came the voice of Sif from the doorway her arms crossed under her chest pushing them up as she looked at you with a raised eyebrow, "So you can imagine my surprise when I saw what I was working on was carried here, still if your to do this I suppose I should help especially with the mess you made."
You raised a brow. "And why exactly are you being so helpful? I was under the impression you were plotting the end of my days, like a changer of ways." Her proud domineering aura flickered for a moment before returning. "And why should I not, it is for the greater good of the hold..."
You eyed her darkened eyes and slightly bedraggled hair. "I take it the elders have been having their words with you?"
She froze, before pulling a tense grin. "Certainly, and they've all been quite positive to be certain. What of yourself?"
You sigh at her stubbornness, before contemplating on whether you should reveal your secrets... Eventually you decided to continue. "Apparently the ranger's found a lot of survivors today; Another clan brought from the brink, and a bit of relief from those that came with us for finding survivors. The problem." You seriously question on whether you should bring this up. "Is they do not see me as their legitimate king. An issue already present from the Dawi we found already, with you being the jewel in the ironmine, but now there's almost as many Dawi loyal to your clan as there are, tentatively mine, They apparently still hope that your uncle lives while others want my niece on the throne..." You leave the question about her open, but thankfully she doesn't take up the bait. "But King Tholgion has spoken she is far too young to reclaim the hold. I don't want the success of the Ranger's to split the Throng now."
Sif's eyes glinted as she glared at you before huffing, "Very well, now let's get these settled, seems I'll have to settle a few things" she took a seat across from you while you grit your teeth.
Sending a prayer to the Ancestors you got to work while hoping that it would be completed soon to spare you this particular punishment.

(Will create a list of stuff you can buy from them, but you can expect just about anything from them as their the capital) (Currently requires 1 Regiment of Pick and shield dawi to keep safe due to the pass being blocked (or any Regiment)
1 Turn (Only costs gold)1 Turn
Rolled: 69+15(Martial as your defending their caravan) =84
You relaxed into your throne as you inspected the gifted supplies from gronti the smell of good ale permeating the small storage hall, though as you looked over them you could only spot a few seals of various clans in Gronti, most of which were close allies, while only a few of them boar the mark of the more prominent growing clans while only a few came from the Firehands, your brow crinkled in thought at that and you made note to find out why though you had a sinking feeling why.
Letting out a sigh you tapped your throne as you glanced down to Svenric, "Let's get back to the tent need to check with a few of the longbeards about something" you glanced back at the crates and wondered just how empty the treasury would be from all this.
Svenric nodded as your thronebearers turned sharply around to leave the hall "So how's the recovery been Uthor?"
You glanced down at him while shrugging, "About as good as I expected it to be, could have done without Sif's constant power play's," You sighed as yet another fuming guild member entered the hall. "Should I even bother asking what she did this time?"
The blacklocked plaitling growled before thrusting a vellum scroll into your waiting arms. "Apparently she's attempting to bribe the apprentices of my guild to assist her on some project as 'muscle'. Don't know how she's gotten 50 barrel's of Frostson's on stand by but she's already donated two as 'gifts' to show off her 'generosity'."
You cried on the inside for a bit, reading the number of apprentices and even metal smiths putting their names down for leave. Ancestors the woman knew how to run schemes like no other, but she had no sense at all when it came to goals... After a while you grunted, before passing it down. "I take it you'll want me to inspire some loyalty in the apprentices then?"
She looked pointedly at you before relenting with a sigh. "Aye, for all your impudence and lack of shame for showing up your poor master, those blasted beardlings will at least hear you out." She pulled out a pipe and started smoking. "They were'nt happy when you warned of ale rations, but they'll trust you over that wench..."
at that, she marched off, leaving you alone with your thronebearers. Giving off a sigh, you pulled up a sheet of bronze you had stored next to the left arm. "I managed to grab a bit of Thordogrim's finest. Make sure to have word of it slip out among the hold, its got another decade before it's fully mature but knowing things as they are I think its more than enough for a little feast?"
Your Thronebearer's halted for a moment, glancing down you could see Svenric grinning as his fellow longbeards glowered at him, letting out a sigh you slumped back. "I've got a keg of Ogri's Belcher in it for you lads." Suddenly the throne picked up speed. "You've more than earned it for lugging me around all year." Receiving a cheer you relaxed back into your seat as the longbeard's started chanting and you could only gulp as you started to bounce in your seat at a rather alarming pace as they seemed to dash to your residence.
pulled one from defence as all other reclamation Regiments were active and decreased the goblins DC for the tunnel assaults for the next turn as they have had a year of missed patrols to make progress.

You struggled as you made it up the last few step's and came to a stop outside a small patio, one of the window's boarded up while you spotted a number of repairs already underway, as you heard talking inside, letting out a sigh you knocked on the door and were greeted by a young kvinn her blond plait's flowing freely as she glanced at you her eyes widening as she curtsied quickly "King Uthor" you noticed her gulp as she quickly stepped aside waving you in, "Ma! Uthor's here"
You felt your ears tinge red a little as you let out a huff as you heard Thane Dallia curse, shaking your head you entered, "You can drop the formality Ulka, also thought you were…" You frowned before shaking your head, "never mind forgot that was months ago, so how was Gronti?"
She shrugged her eyes glancing away her hair covering her face as her hands went to fiddle with her hair, "Not to bad though had to haggle with the Threksson's for their damned seed but other than a few hiccups it was nice, even secured some tuber's for the fields." You nodded only for Dallia's head to pop around the corner.
The Thane's eyes met your's before she glanced at her daughter "Ulka could you oversee a few things in the kitchen while we talk" Ulka let out a huff before nodding before disappearing around the corner as her mother met you her arms crossed, "Uthor, what can I do for ya?"
Scratching the back of your head you let out a sigh, "Nothing much just needed to discuss a few things, though I thought your daughter was still in Gronti"
Her eyebrow raised a bit before she nodded, "I suppose it wouldn't hurt, just find a seat ya look like your gonna keel over from all the effort" You opened your mouth to protest before falling silent while giving a nod as you followed her into a modest dining room which looked to have seen better day's but it couldn't be helped.
Falling into the nearby seat you relaxed as your stiff legs groaned as you glanced at her only to jolt as a tankard was placed next to you, Ulka disappearing into the nearby kitchen, "So, heard a few rumor's about Sif making a play for your fields?"
She snorted while shaking her head, "Aye damned Skazi was trying to make use of one of the old law's to make a claim for them since it was her clan's gold that was used," She took a sip of ale "Almost had it to if not for Rothgar, heard he's already been eyed up for a few marriage proposal's despite his beard barely passing his belly.
You cracked a grin at that while nodding, "that's good, still I'll make sure to keep her in check those fields are to important to let a single clan have full control of it" you grimaced as you let your head lie back, "Though with how things are I may get the chance to speak with King Tholgon to settle the issue before she causes a rift between the holds will all her actions."
Dallia let out a grunt as you looked back at her as she stared at a nearby fire "Won't do much good, you know as well as I that her entire clan is set in how to do things and without Lhune I doubt we'll sort it out before a tragedy befall's all of us." She frowned before shaking her head, "Now as much as I would like to grumble about the Skazi and her clan some more, I would much rather relax" Her eyes glanced at you before grining, "Why don't you stay for dinner Ulka's cooking and a bit more rest is bound to be good for you."
You gave a nodded noting the look in her eyes as you relaxed into your seat as it seemed you would need to keep your wit's about you, taking a smaller sip of ale you wondered what she was up to.

You dropped a slab of Copper onto your desk while grasping for some ale that you had stored away as you felt your missing eye throb in pain, cursing Oqet you downed some ale before running a finger along the scar as you glanced at your sickly eye floating in a jar, letting out a sigh you glanced at the tome's at your side as you considered looking at it again, the green dagger niggling at some buried information that you could not place for the life of you.
Though as you heard a guard's salute you glanced to see Johngrim approaching the elder looking tired as a Var yipped at his heal. You raised an eyebrow at that as you signalled for him to sit, "Thaught all the Var pack's were wiped out after the collapse of Lhune?" You watched the large Pitbull nearly of height with your advisor move towards the fire and lie down as it stared at you with big brown eyes.
Johngrim nodded while glancing down at him "they are, but my wife found a few of his ancestor's during the fall of Vengryn" he glanced at his dog and scratched his ear "He's all that's left now sadly but I owe his line a lot, even considering making a surface trip to Lhune to find him a pack but they're a few in Gronti so it's up in the air."
You nodded as you relaxed, "I'll ask around if I get the time" You took a sip of ale while relaxing a hammer pounding in your head, "So got a message from a few rangers that you managed to set up that camp, though I didn't see any reports on it?"
He nodded "I would hope not, last camp got overrun because the last king had its location marked down in his damned chambers" He frowned while shrugging, "I'll show it to you once you've recovered but I won't have it marked down for a grobi warband to ambush the holds rangers again."
Downing some ale you nodded while squinting "I suppose, though I expect a few plans drawn up for any warband's that assault us and as long as you can assist the hold, I won't argue against it and I'll support you on the council if the Thane's ask, lest we have them arguing against this."
He shrugged "If thing's were easy but I'll convince them, especially once I start training some of the new bloods, plus a few of my contact's will set things right." He said the two of you falling into easy discussion of the hold and his recent findings and actions.

[X] Request the engineers to design some New Warrior armour: With your hold's warriors fighting so often and facing so many threats request a few of the holds armour smiths try and see if it can be improved, even if it saves one dawi it will have proven its worth but you hope it will save many more. You looked over the armour its steel glinting under the firelight as your nose twitched at the smell of oil, shaking your head you took a closer look at it and while you would use it against the Zharr atop the walls it was rather cumbersome something even the sturdiest of dawi would struggle to fight in and against the ogri something that you thought was rather important.
Still, as you looked over it you could see the older designs of the Kazad-Ankor's armour in the design, even if it was a tad buried still a good effort in your opinion, even if it was only slowly coming along, it was just shame progress had to be delayed because of your little rest.

[X] Request the engineers to investigate designs of the Bolt Thrower: There are only a few engineers within the hold, many of them skilled if a little odd request that they take a look at improving the design of the Bolt Thrower, it use through history having been a boon against the ogre's. Looking over the designs you frowned, they were good and far better than what could have been expected from the holds engineer's, taking a closer look at it you noted that not all the pieces were the same, a few coming from what looked like a radical engineer whose entire idea had been strangely modified.
A tankard landed next to you, glancing to the side you spotted Belegond looking at you as he took a seat "Ya looking over the brother's work?" He leaned a little closer as you nodded while taking a sip of the Ale to taste a bit of Frostson.
You raised an eyebrow at that, "I was, seems they made some decent progress though I thought I was looking at the work of a Radical going conservative and had yet to decide where he'd left his Ale Tankard" Glancing closer you spotted a few changes before nodding "Will have to keep an eye on them, though if they produce this kind of work I may just need to keep them in mind when asking for commissions."
Belegond grunted, "I wouldn't trust em too much, if you've heard of what I have then you'd rather shove that thing into the depths of an archive and best to be forgotten" You raised an eyebrow as you saw him shift uncomfortably.
"Maybe, though the design looks fine to me and while I'm no engineer it seem's solid enough, give it a decade and they might produce something of use to the hold" giving him a nod.
While you resolved to look into them your heard your elder grunt, "I see that look Uthor, I ain't some new born garazi with gold in his eyes but you'll see." Belegond muttered just loud enough for you to hear only for you to watch as he stormed out.
Taking a sip of your ale you wondered what that was all about before you shrugged, it would come with time, though maybe a few precautions were needed if he was to be believed.
(+2 Progress)
Personal actions:
[X] Move around your throng and look for an advisor: You need advisors and quickly and while it would only last a short term, you are sure they would not be the best there is but still an elder is still an elder. (Write-in which type of advisor you want) (lower quality advisor for your chosen position - cannot be replaced for 12 turns)
You poured two tankard's of ale as a fire blazed off to the side as you looked at the longbeard who had his arms crossed only accepting your ale as he stared at you with an appraising eye, "Master Naari glad you could join me" your voice was firm as you clasped your hands together.
He took a sip, "Aye, now what has you dragging me out my forge?"
You raised an eyebrow "I heard you managed to settle a dispute between a few runesmiths and a few other things from the clans and while I Would rather have held a few trials and checked amongst your fellow longbeards I need an Advisor, especially one that knows our laws, that is if your duties won't be an issue"
He frowned before nodding "I'll accept, though if this has anything to do to garner support amongst my compatriot's…"
You stopped him, dropping your ale down and looking at him straight. "To be perfectly honest Elder, I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to running a hold. I have been a runelords apprentice or a Ironbreaker for over a century of my life, and before then my father had me learn carpentry." The elder blinked at you, baffled by your bluntness. "Quite frankly while I may appear to act the part of the negotiator with the beardlings, and somehow these past few years of councils, based on what I know about guild relations and haggling that doesn't involve reagents, commissions, or repair requests you could find more hairs on a Garazi." You raised your ale again. "So there'll be nothing like that. I need a fuller council, and an advisor who knows what he's doing so I can finally leave this place and visit Gronti." You both sigh wistfully at its memory. "I've got a lot of things to put right, both for the hold and myself."
You took a sip before raising a brow with him. "And I need someone who can at least keep track of what 'her majesty' is up to. Ancestors did you hear the move she tried to make with the apprentices?" The elder growled. "Aye... Aye... I remember..." His fist tightened before he rose up. "You had me on that laddie. Hopefully now I can keep my forge running every day, without that wench stealing all my assistants!"
[X] Attach yourself to a regiment for the year(Feast / Audience Hall)

At long last it is done and despite the week I have had I think it came out quite nice, now as for why it took so long to come out after the Interlude, I had to work on the population bit, made a mistake and forgot to factor in the 1 Year Timeskip which threw all my calculations and it took me a bit to fix so sorry about that. (Gonna see about getting the population side of things sorted so that it is easier to manage) Still hope you guys are all well and enjoy.
Yeah, I just noticed the problem, if not for the looking of enough supplies of alcohol and help from our mother-hold, we would have run out long before this, so it makes sense that we would have a shortage. Now, if only we had an option to make a brewery for ourselves, then things would be fine.
Have finally finished with finals (for the most part, bits and pieces here and there to do over break), because of that I can try and make some semi-decent stories and omakes. First running up:
Possible omake: A dragon ogre amongst behemoths part 1
Khorudex The Gory, was a mighty dragon ogre. When the world was young, and the heat was a precious commodity worth more
than gold he was among the dragon-orges that had made an empire in that wintery wasteland.
When the ships of the blasted old ones came, they learned of a new threat to their kind like never before seen. Khorudex had seen the lizardmen, and he saw what they could do, how they would slavishly devote themselves to those god-like beings and willingly cut their throats to help follow their master's wishes. He had been there when after years of desperation and fighting, of both the old ones and the hateful dragon's that a voice called out to save them and it would inter give them the one thing they truly desired.
Immortality, oh the thought sent his body with a rush of warmth and desire, that was what every Dragon orge had dreamed of since their first encounter with the dragon's, or so the legends claim. The voice called itself as part of a being, called Chaos. This voice said to the mightiest of them all even over Khorudex, the mighty Krakanrok the Black. Krakanrok was intrigued, and so bade for the rest of his people to leave and be shone the true face of Chaos.
What happened, next to no one knows, but when Krakanrok came back he was changed, before he was a proud and mighty lord, even calling himself the father of their race (more for his sexual escapades with the women than for any other reason), but now he was humbled, there was a look in his eyes that spoke of something, whatever the sight was that Krakanrok saw he would only say was for the gods of Chaos as he called them, and for them alone.
After gathering the mightiest and most influential of their kind, with of course Khorudex being one of them, he swore an oath that bound them, soul and body to Chaos. And in return, power and Immortality were their's for the taking. And so it was, since that day Khorudex had made a name for himself, going to the battles and war's that Chaos demand of him, while he was granted perpetual immortality, the only caveat was when he tried to couple with another of his kin to make a child, only no matter what happened nothing of it came.
When he asked the Gods why, it was revealed that it was Tzeentch, who had made the deal and so decided to take their ability in turn to have child, and so have it that they would forever be barren. It was from this revelation, that Tzeentch told him a secret that few would ever know or think about when joining chaos. You are only worth so much, as what you are, what you would've been, and what you could've been, and he along with the rest of his race, was judged as useful to important.
With this knowledge, Khorudex went to a mountain range that was tainted and in some parts, felt like the chaos wastes. There he slept and dreamed, and in his dreams, he thought of his predicament and came with his solution. While his soul was gone, his actions still had a matter of effect, as was what he saw with the young spawn of the old ones, the "humans", elves and even fimir. Unlike, the latter though, Khorudex swore that fate would not befall his race like theirs did and so he learned of a sacrifice that would help grant himself and his race true immortality, the sacrifice of another race.
While he awakened from his slumber a lord of change had come before him, this being was like all of the fate weaver's creations, strange. It walked with a croaked back, in its hands was a croaked staff tipped with magical power and eldritch tentacles, its body was a strange mix of a human and an avian bird, with a broken back and covered up wings that burned brilliant at its tips. Its face was covered up by a shawl, though that had done nothing to hide its eyes and beak.
"Ah, Khorudex, my master has noticed the plight that you have suffered under and has been generous enough to give you what you want so that the dragon orges will not eventually die out," it said in a mockingly kind voice. "My master has deemed it right for you to know of the sacrifice you must make, and of what it is that you must do to accomplish it." it finished. Without a word, a beam of light shot from its staff and struck the dragon orge, a creature only dwarfed by Krakanrok and his children, such as the almighty powerful Kholek Suneater.
Possible omake: A dragon ogre amongst behemoths part 2
The blast shook off the winds of arcane magic that surrounded Khorudex and the lord of change with him. "My master found a fascinating fact that he has seen and changed so that they will not allow his ultimate plan to be ruined. So he has sent I, Sarthorael the Everwatcher!" Sarthorael said with a cackle in its beak.
Stunned, Khorudex looked at the image before him, it was a large group of women and children from his race. They had been surrounded by an army of the Old Ones servants. He watched as they seemed to prepare to kill the weakened and tired civilians, but then they stopped and from nowhere a Blinding light flashed and Khorudex could only scream.
"It seemed that when the Old Ones came for your people, it was not to kill them all, oh if only it were that" it cackled in its throat. With with that it disappeared with a flash, leaving Khorudex alone in this strange memory. Khorudex was shocked, he had originally thought that nothing like this had ever happened before, but the words of the demon caused him to pay closer attention. What happened next was a change of location, where there was one a wintery land, know there was grass, food, a paradise almost.
It was then, that he saw the captured Dragon orges tossed into a greenish pool covered with enchanted runes, that burned to look upon, all the while a group of toad-like figurines meditated as the children and women were held under by an invisible force. For however long he looked nothing seemed to change, till the runes glowed a horrific blinding white. And as sone as the light eased up, he looked back and saw a abomination.
It emerged from the green water, where once was a strong and powerful dragon orgess was known as a misshaped and ugly thing. Its draconic features were gone and in its place were a more humanoid shape to it, it was however never meant to be that way and so all of the organs and blood from there was compressed at the center of the woman, creating a massive (to its frame) gut. The light in her eyes that before shone with brilliant life, was dull and a pale light in its place. It's everything was a mockery of what it once stood for. "o...o..or..orge" the abomination muttered in what was possibly a confused daze, or perhaps that was just how much of a brain had been stripped away by the servants of the Old ones.
The creature stumbled out, with its larger body(compared to the surrounding lizards, but puny to a dragon orge) clumsily stumbling out. And soon, after more of them started to come out of the liquid, from once there was a promising generation of people, were now reduced and twisted into a mockery of their people and race. The place soon ended with the lizardmen taking the new "Ogres" as they called themselves away from the greenish pool.
Khorudex the gory would swear that he would find each of these abominations, and eat their hearts out for their crime of existing and making a mockery of him and his race. With that, Sartoreal came back and without even saying a word toke him away from this place of what could only be a memory remembered by the Gods of Chaos.
