The Ettin would probably make for good siege breakers. Remember how hard it was for our enemies to get over our walls. I suspect that the Hakkari have strong walls as well.
 
Hrrm...I don't want to throw them at the hakkari because that's something I think we're going to need to co-ordinate.
The thing is, Hakkar's whole 'blood sacrifice' thing to me suggests that the more killing Dio's trolls get up to, the bigger the fight with Hakkar will be and the harder it will be to bring him down.
So, Are Ettin worth it?
I don't trust that it is, unless we can get them to work with us as a cohesive whole. If they just run in, do some damage and then die that probably will translate to Hakkar being porportionally more fed then Dio's trolls would be weakened by their losses.
I DO like throwing them at the Kobolds though, especially since the little candle-wearers don't seem to ever do anything significant, nor do they have their D&D cousin's reputation for traps and tricks. Sooooo~
either throw the Ettin at the Kobolds so we have a path to Dio, or alternatively, we have them do No Smashing and reserve their might for later. More glorious combat to appease the Loa, more Ettin souls NOT going to Hakkar even second-hand, which I could see him pulling off if he say, scouts the Kobolds while our Ettins are doing their work, and a problem dealt with in the now.
 
Use them like raging war elephants to attack the Hakari. Don't try to coordinate with them but rather treat them as a fire a d forget weapon to break a section of Hakari lines or act as a Big Honking Distraction.

We don't actually need help with the kobolds, we can handle that ourselves. What we really need help with is the Hakari so that's where we should use them.

Nah, one of the options is to pay the Mountain King to keep the other ettins away, so if we don't vote for that a few will probably attack us and then we can sacrifice those. Same reason why I wouldn't vote for the kobold option; every kobold they eat is one that isn't sacrificed to the Loa.

Although, we could ask what's up with the black dragons. One of those would make a fine sacrifice.

Bit worried the ettin would finish with the Hakkari and then decide they haven't had enough troll yet today.
 
The moratorium's over now. So guys what's our plan here, are we going to try convincing the Ettin to fight the Hakkari or the Kobolds?

-[X] No Smashing At All: Try to convince these ettin to make the other ettin in the mountains back off, meaning that your travels through the mountains will be less troubled by ettin overall.

Doesn't look like this choice is limited to just one option. I might be wrong though.

I think the possible problems with having them help with Hakkari outweigh the benefits compared to having them fight kobolds.

Plus and more importantly THIS IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY!!! are we fing cowardly weaklings that we need mindless Ettins to fight troll battles??? more importantly to fight in what is effectively one of the last battles of the civil war????

I SAY WE DONT! I SAY WE CAN CRUSH THE WORTHLESS HAKKARI SCUM WITH OUR OWN HANDS AND WIN THE DAY!!!! so lets leave the Ettin to deal with the other minor problem and hopefully they kill enough of each other that we can claim the land for ourselves after! :D
