I thought we were the biggest empire in Azeroth. Period. Only the Scourge and Burning Legion could possibly be bigger.

Maexxna is 128 years old, and considering our location, I sincerely doubt she has seen anything like the Nerubian Empire. We are porbably as large as either the Alliance or the Horde by ourselves, and we are most definitely one of the oldest societies around.

Actually, I do wonder - how big are we compared to either faction?
The nerubian empire has an immense population by the standards of Azeroth, stormwind alone apparently only has a population around 200,00 or so which is a barely a percentage of yours.

On the other hand the actual territory the nerubian's claim is realy, realy small if you dont count empty mine tunnels.

So while you are big your force projection is fairly shit.

We'll have to keep making more settlements, expanding them, and do that action to improve our tunnels to work at fixing that force projection problem.

Do we have a rough idea of how extensive the underground tunnels are? Like could we travel between the different continents on...Asteroth? That's the name of the world that Warcraft's set on right?

Theoretically there are tons of underground tunnels that would allow us to get to the other continents, the only problem is that those are likely very close to the Old Gods and full of Faceless ones.

Any tunnels deep enough for intercontinental travel are almost certainly old god territory.

and the name of the world is Azeroth.

Ya, but that population figure came after Eastern Kingdoms suffered nearly forty or so years of constant warfare. Kind of puts a dent in numbers.

Well, the same could be said in a round about way when it comes to the Nerubians? If they had not been so isolated and centralised they could probably have a population several times the size they currently have. They could potentialy have dominated every inch of northrend.

The Magnataurs encampment is a simple and filthy place in all respects. Large, shoddily built wooden huts litter an area stretching nearly a mile in diameter house the Magnataurs, some within the ancient rib cages or mouths of the dragon corpses that little Dragonblight. There is no wall or guards posted to keep watch. All Magnataurs and their slaves gather around twelve large bonfires. They light up the night under the watch of Azeroth's twin moons, flaring out as the Magnataurs fed prisoners to the flames. Their bodies offered up to the spirits under the guidance of the shamans for blessings and power.

A faint tremor runs through the ground and the Magnataurs ignore this, hooting and hollering as more prisoners were sacrificed. The Kobolds scuttle beneath their hooves, nervous and fearful, forced by the Magnataurs to watch their brothers and sisters' burn for rebelling.

Another tremor runs across the settlement, stronger and closer than before.

The last of the Kobold Geomancers perk up and…

Alert?! Needed: 20/100 Rolled: 88/100

Keep quiet, their weak minds long since been dominated by Nerubian Shadow Viziers, hidden within the encampment under the effects of long-lasting invisibility spells and potions. Nerubian Assassins support them, slaying any wandering Kobolds who happen upon them before a sound is uttered. Their corpses are easily disposed of, joining the thousands of others laid scattered throughout the encampment.

(-300 Kobolds)

The snow rumbles and shakes and the Magnataurs…

Here We Go! Needed: 40/100 Rolled 109/100

…Keep partying as hundreds of tunnels simultaneously open up around the bonfires, Massive Jormungars bursting from the ground. The gigantic worms roar, lashing out with sweeping strikes of their spiked tails that crush crowds Kobolds and sprays acid in the faces of Magnataurs. The half-giant, half-mammoth raiders clutch heads, their horrific screams dying as acid eats into their faces, dissolving skin and blood and bones.

(-3000 Kobolds, -500 Magnataurs. Kobold Morale Breaks)

Confused shouts and roars erupt from the Magnataurs as the corpses slam into the ice, crushing a number of fleeing Kobolds beneath their bulk. Patriarchs and Shamans try to reestablish order as a hundreds of other Magnataurs catch sight of the Massive Jormungars, bellowing challenges as they rushed at them. Crude and large iron spears and axes raised high above them.

The Swarm. Needed: 40/100 Rolled 103/100

Thousands of flesh-eating locusts pour out of the tunnels as similar numbers of Nerubian Flyers descend from skies at the charging Magnataurs. The bat-winged spiderlings emit high-pitch shrieks as they cover and claw faces. The locusts buzz about, a literal cloud of death, crawling into noses and mouths as they rip and tear tiny pieces of flesh from Kobolds as they flay about. Their exposed flesh serves as a better target than the thick fur protecting the Magnataurs.

The Kobolds and Magnataurs lash with wild attacks, slaying hundreds of locusts and flyers, their numbers too numerous to have any chance of missing. The Massive Jormungars continue to spray acid, slaying more as legions of carrion beetles and giant spiders rush into the fray from out the wide tunnels. They leap and burrow into bodies, causing further chaos before the Magnataur Shamans drop fire totems and cast bolts of chain lighting, incinerating thousands of them by the second.

(-2,500 Kobolds, 150 Magnataurs, -3,000 Locust Swarms, -2,500 Nerubian Flyers, -1,000 Carrion Beetle Swarms, -1,500 Giant Spiders.)

Magnataur Counter Charge: Needed: 50/100. Rolled: 38/100

The Magnataurs charge at the Massive Jormungars again, tossing spears. The sheer strength propelling them manages to penetrate deep into their foes thick leathery hide. Some fall, mostly to those launched by the Patriarchs and Gormok as he leads the charge. The rest simply rush at the Magnataurs as blue acidic blood pours out their wounds.

(-120 Massive Jormungars)

They clash as more tunnels open up around the Magnataurs, Jormungars of a smaller strain slithering out the ground to join their larger brethren. The Spider Lords follow, their back wings flaring up as Locust Swarms flow out of them. Nerubian Seers and Viziers trail after their leaders with large units of Nerubian Warriors and Webspinners assigned to protect each.

You, Anub-Rekhan, stand at its head with Anu-Surket at your side. A small army of elites split off from the main force that is divided into three groups surrounding the entire encampment. Already they are advancing all at once towards you within its center, engaging the Magnataurs lying in its outskirts, supported by teams Assassins and Viziers already within the area.

Maexxna is here and with them. It is easy to spot her in the moonlight, only the biggest and the strongest of the Magnataurs are trying to fight her. Her sheer bulk and size limits her from taking any normal tunnels carved by any Jormungar.

They are simply too small, for now.

"FIGHT ME!"

You turn as Gormok the Impaler stomps the ground, shockwaves erupting out his hooves, pulping hundreds of swarms and flyers and Nerubian Warriors surrounding him. He raises his weapon, a giant dark steel halberd with spikes running along its edge and a flail attach to its end.

(-300 Locust Swarms, -300 Nerubian Flyers, -400 Carrion Beetle Swarms, -50 Nerubian Warriors)

"FIGHT ME!" He bellows to Maexxna off in the distance, utterly ignoring everything but her as his forces fight and die around him.

He looks ready to charge at her, but you are closer.

Should you…

[] Slay him yourself.
[] Have Anu-Surket do it instead.
[] Let the fool get eaten by Maexxna.

[x] Have Anu-Surket do it instead.

Well we did promise her his head did we not?

[X] Slay him yourself.

If we want to impress Maexxna, Anub-Rekhan needs to kill this guy himself.

More excellent rolls :D

[X] Slay him yourself.

Our wife doesn't want his head.

Anub-Rekhan on the other hand, needs to release some stress.

So we need to let him do it.

It also might show maexxna we are not to be trifled with.

Killing him ourself seems like a fantastic way to die horribly, quickly, and without a second glance. We're pitiful in combat, this guy smashes squads just by walking.
EDIT: I remembered that we're using our generals perspective. Woops.

Impress everyone. Of all the people here it's our awesome general who's been set up to have not made any major achievements... time to let him change this i think.

Mexx is a safer bet in combat... but in the aftermath allowing her such a big role in making a win would be too ego inflating.

26-27 martial is pitiful in combat? That's news to me

Remember, Our wife doesn't want this guys head.

And to maexxna he might be a piece of toast in comparison to what she usually eats to fill up.

She also is starting to become less intimidated by us.

Edit: Ah, I see you thought we were our king character. Yea, no I totally agree, our king needs to stay the hell away from anything like this.

Let Rekhan have his moment, we can always feed her the corpses afterwards. Besides, these are Magnataur, they're pretty big to begin with.
