The problem is the potential of people running after the risky shinnies that can screw us over while we need to focus 150% on the research.
Not if we argue well enough. This is the penultimate task for the next few years. I can see why we'd put it off for one, maybe two, if it means taking risky options to end Loken since that'll mean that the remaining Watchers can focus their efforts on keeping the seal as well as they can, but no more.

So we brought EVERYTHING for the hunting, right?
Maexxna and a reasoanbly-sized army, assassin guards watching over us, all of that?

Most likely not an army since this is a hunt but most certainly a group of hidden assassins since our spymaster wife would not allow us to go anywhere without a few looking over us.

Besides our wife can count as an army herself and we get personal combat rerolls.

@Arcman will you change the result on Druids (due to bonues we should have gotten) later after the interlude?

Y'know about how Nerubian quest earned it's reputation about failing actions that were not supposed to have failed and earning a meme for it? Well it's proving it to everyone else how its reputation is earned thanks to this latest turn.

Also, on another note...
So happy we can have Piety options now.
I've got a feeling we'll need them, as we're being pushed.

Who knows, might be a way to get at those dreadlords
A certain mage shouldn't be the only one who gets to do research on them, right?

(Speaking of research... we need to kill that boss of the burning legion we've got.
I recommend we use the body to figure out if we can invent some sort of anti-burning legion work)

Killing a Pit Lord is not easy which is why we didn't kill him off when we studied the other demons and as a high ranking member of the Legion he is worht more alive as long as possible.

Not saying that we shouldn't kill him just that donig so will be a hard sell.

Is he?
I mean, it's not like we're going to do prisoner exchange or anything.

Best use I can see of him is ripping all knowledge out of his head and then using his body to tryr and research some sort of weapon to use against the enemy.

I'm not sure why it'd be good to keep him alive as long as possible - am I missing something?

We are currently using that Pit Lord as a Fel Energy generator to keep our bound demons alive and likely to study Fel Energies relatively safely in the future.

We do this by harvesting his blood in not inconsiderable quantities.

I find that a fitting fate for him, so lets keep him around and milk (heh) him for all he is worth.

We'll rip the secrets from his flesh!

Keeping a pit lord chained up in the basement long term is a bad idea. Rip as much knowledge out of him as possible, then terminate him with extreme prejudice. Short to mid term should be fine, but keep him around long enough and it will only end in tears.

@Arcman when are you going to change the update to take in account our diplomacy bonuses so that we succeed in getting Druids?
