We want to help the Vrykul because it allows the chance of relations with them rather than them still hating us after the civil war.

So why not both and defer the recruitment as well? Because the Vyrkul business can continue to eat up actions unless we just nudge it to our favor.
Well I would prefer finding those possibly-undead Vrykul rather than leave them alone (because Scourge)...
But we do have garrisons everywhere.

Also, when does he start up his plan originally anyway? Also why(aside from being batshit crazy)?
I don't think we can count on the original timeline for information on when things happen, given the amount of butterflies we've made.

This is Warcraft, anything that goes wrong is because of Corruption of one kind or another. (Well, it's a Blizzard thing in general, I guess.)

The original timeline can give useful clues. So, when and why does he kick off the "fuck magic"
plan?
It happened after he was "cured" of his madness thanks to the Netherwing flight from Outland, the same Netherwings who are descended from the Black flight and infused with nether . Cause that makes the perfect cure for madness

If we start studying Necromancy, maybe we'll be able to recruit Kel'thuzad as a hero unit and he won't have to satiate his future curiosity by traveling to the Lich King.

Their existence is weird, lets just leave it at that.

As for the why, he saw the rampant use of magic going around and wanted to prevent another Burning Legion invasion. Kind of redundant though, given the fact that the eyes of the commanders seem to all be on Azeroth anyways and it wasn't that long ago that they invaded anyways.

I'm not convinced he was cured to begin with. He absorbed a bunch of power mad, arcane magic bloated, Nether infused, black flight descendants into himself and that "cured" him. Not convinced, especially with what's locked up on the same continent as him and getting free from its prison

When we do that Light roll, better hope that Benedictus isn't helping with any of the 'converting', he's a high ranking Twilight Cultist. If we fail the roll, he may actually manage to start another cultist infestation.

What ? The Old Gods drove him insane about his prophesied death and caused it to happen.

Where'd you get that idea?

I got this from Murozond's quotes during his boss fight:

"The "End Time," I once called this place. I had not seen, by then; I did not know. You hope to... what? Stop me, here? Change the fate I worked so tirelessly to weave?"

"You crawl unwitting, like a blind, writhing worm, towards endless madness and despair. I have witnessed the true End Time. This? This is a blessing you simply cannot comprehend."

Now living outside of time, Murozond was once the great Dragon Aspect Nozdormu the Timeless One. After the titans showed him his own death, the tormented Nozdormu was tricked by the Old Gods into trying to subvert his mortality. As a result, Nozdormu shattered the timeways and created the infinite dragonflight... jeopardizing the very future of Azeroth.

Murozond is in fact the future version of Nozdormu who will inevitably go mad and try to interfere with the past, thus his past self will send adventurers in to the future to strike him down. Right after Murozond is slain Nozdormu told them:
"At last it has come to pass. The moment of my demise. The loop is closed. My future self will cause no more harm.
Still, in the future, I will... fall to madness. And you, heroes... will vanquish me. The cycle will repeat. So it goes.
What matters is that Azeroth did not fall; that humanity survived to live another day.
All that matters... is this moment."

i just see Murozond's quotes as a mad man that convinced himself that what he was doing was the best for everyone

The old gods are unfortunately good at what they do. REALLY good.

If you think Murozond isn't enough evidence, take a look at Archbishop Benedictus.

He's one of, if not THE most pious man of the light, and simply reading a prophecy about the Hour of Twilight drove him to their side and turned him into a madman who no longer saw good and evil, only power.

What's this about reading a prophecy ? He went traitor after he saw Deathwing when he attacked Stormwind

And yet we're clearly seeing the beginning of the Infinite Dragonflight in War Crimes.

It's not starting by Nozdormu going mad due to his mortality, it's starting because of the shitstorm erupting from the Bronze Dragonflight losing their powers.

I never read the book so I'm probably missing some info

How about we wait on the recruitment options until next turn since we will have the Alliance reinforcements helping us out for at least this turn which can cover us until next turn where we can start recruiting?

I really just want to get both done this turn so we never have to worry about them again, but if something else wins I'm cool with that.

It's bad, but it's not the utter abomination of nature that people claim it is.
The entire idea of holding a trial for a genocidal bastard, war criminal and a former Old God host instead of just killing him is already horrible enough. The entire thing gets worse when the judges were biased towards not killing him and the outcome was never going to change. Fucking Assholes
