Warcraft: Fallen Kingdoms (Old)

Genius may raise our stats but Paladin class is more than something you are 'taught'... and besides that Genius which does not see a way to be EXPRESSED does nothing.

Paladin is the trait which immediately gains us a massive aspect of RESPECT, gives us access to the LIGHT as both a weapon and a form of respect in and of itself (We will need both considering where we are), and even more than that we would have a way of taking IMMEDIATE ACTION once things start, and a way to guard ourselves from DIRECT demonic influence. (Indirect demonic influence is going to be here the whole time if the crusade is infiltrated as it was in canon, but being not able to be directly puppeted is a humongous boon when dealing with the Nathrazem)

Paladin will gain us massive amounts of respect. Being known as that GENIUS PRINCESS who, shocked by the actions of her brother, was DETERMINED TO REDEEM HER FAMILY NAME and learned to wield the light in a staggeringly short period of time will GAIN US EVEN MORE RESPECT.

Besides, PALADIN DOES NOT PREVENT DEMONIC POSSESSION. Intrigue dickery of the Nathrezim is exactly what causes people to become unwitting pawns, Paladins get -4 intrigue. If anything, we'll be MORE LIKELY TO BE POSSESSED.

Edit: Saidan Dathrohan being an example in canon/endedit.

I can use caps too, it didn't seem to improve the argument any.

[x] Priest: You are a priest, wielding the Light you can heal the wounded and cure the sick, protect your allies in battle and even resurrect the newly dead.

Because two of our disadvantages are being outnumbered making the Priest's ability to resurrect recently dead allies extremely valuable, and will have to eventually deal with refugees carrying disease something Priest will also help with. Both of these things will make us extremely popular among the common citizens, and soldiers, hopefully limiting the spread of fanatic among the Crusade.

There is also the fact that the light is extremely effective against the undead even if you aren't a Paladin. Also the ability to resurrect friendly heroes, and none hero Paladins would be invaluable since they those are we only have so many of either of them.

I'd be watilling to bet money that being a Paladin helps you avoid being possession via Nathrezim, well rather being proficient in the Light does so considering Saiden Dathrohan needed to be defeated, and turned into a corpse for Balnazzar to possess his body.

I use caps to emphasize key points and how I stress things according to my speech patterns. You're just spamming them against my perceived use, which is frankly kinda insulting.

Genius princess is NOT useful here is what I'm saying. Paladin is a trait that allows us on the front lines, makes us immediately relevant and gives us a GOOD reason to not be shuttered away from the action and thus not give us clear respect. Nathrezim work mainly by intrigue dickery is true, but that can be worked against from other angles.

I don't want to spend half this quest trying to LEARN to be a paladin (everyone who learned to be one in a short time ALREADY HAD a light connection, ie were Priests). I want to start the quest with the paladin status so that we can actually move towards what is important. Trying to go 'stats' is just not the end all of it.

Allcaps to me are the equivalent of shouting, by going allcaps in certain words during a conversation you give off the impression that you cannot control the volume of your voice.

If we can't learn to become a Paladin in a short-ish timespan, we'll have to settle for Priest. We already have allies that can fight(and probably make good tutors) so one more body on the front lines seems redundant compared to new ingenious battlement designs, a good internal organization and a voice of reason.

In any case, I apologize if it came across as rude, you came across as rude to me(randomly shouted words) and I responded in kind. I should have restrained myself there. Personally if I want to Empathize Certain Words, I've found that Only Capitalizing the First Letter is usually sufficient.

Edit: in regards to the possession debate:

Piety: Influences how much you believe in the Light, the strength of holy spells and the ability to resist corruption.
Genius: You have always been more intelligent than those around your age. (+3 to all stats, counts as 2 traits.)
Paladin: (+3 Piety, +4 Martial, -4 Intrigue, Counts as 2 traits.)

Paladin and Genius give the same amount of Piety, theoretically, that means the same amount of resistance to corruption.

Only priests get more piety.

Let's diplo-seduce everyone!

Why do people misspell Calia Menethil's name? No reason to make up a new character when a perfectly underdeveloped character already exists.

Priest: You are a priest, wielding the Light you can heal the wounded and cure the sick, protect your allies in battle and even resurrect the newly dead. (+4 Piety, +3 Learning, +2 Diplomacy, -4 Martial, -3 Intrigue, counts as 2 traits.)
I believe that is is very much plausible that any rise to power in the ranks of the Scarlet Crusade will be much easier if we are capable of wielding the light.

Kind: You have always liked helping others. (+2 to Diplomacy, -2 to Intrigue.)
We need to show the people that there is good to be found in all races, and the most important thing in that endeavour is that our character believes.

Is it possible to get a Compassionate trait? I'd like to replace Kind with that. :)

We're not allowed to use canon characters.
Right, sorry.

Why, though? I can see why Anveena (playing as the Sunwell would be wierd) is prohibited, but as far as I'm aware, Calia has not been mention by name outside of the Arthas: Rise of the Lich King novel (possibly Day of the Dragon as well?), so she might as well be an OC.

Ask the GM, Calia was one of my choices.
Anveena was just in roughly the right area at the right time(and had her house burned down and family killed by the scourge at the right moment). Plenty of motivation to join the crusade.

I have plans for Calia and for that she needs to be a separate entity.
