Jokes on you, Summit. She only empowers them to be a bit more than five times as strong"He's probably alright." you say, "Solid Core has them empowered to be about a hundred times as strong.
Five times as strong in four different areas. Even assuming diminishing returns it's still a lot more than a flat 5x.Jokes on you, Summit. She only empowers them to be a bit more than five times as strong
We'll probably want another Protean slot or two to go with it since that one will probably be something of a constant equip. A 2nd slot for popping in Slayer Abilities without screwing with our usual load-out might not be out of place either.
IF she can hit, though. Those picks help with a raw strength comparison, sure, but face Yet Another Ninja/Teleporter and it doesn't help with that. Or just getting caught with her weapon in the wrong configuration because she's fighting multiple threats...like we just saw. You're probably right, but it's the Top Fifty she needs to be worried about now, and if we get Ray, that's mostly negated anyway. Panoply 35 (1400/700) with Multi-Shot (x3), Danmaku (x3.5 effective) and Ray (x5 to x26 in most battles) will result in damage potential of 73'500 to 382'200. Which means most exchanges will blow right through the enemy.
I mean, IIRC it's actually enough to overcome Sixth Heaven's Intercept and her Strength ability simply by having the requisite damage disparity.
5x all stats is 5x overall strength. The only additions past that are Echo of Peace and the Existence Bonus, which are hard to calculate the value of.Five times as strong in four different areas. Even assuming diminishing returns it's still a lot more than a flat 5x.
Nooooot quite.5x all stats is 5x overall strength. The only additions past that are Echo of Peace and the Existence Bonus, which are hard to calculate the value of.
Overall Strength =/= Combat EffectivenessNooooot quite.
Abstractly, if we compare one battleship with 150% values of speed and range, and pit them against two battleships with 100% values of speed and range, then all other things being equal the one battleship will be much more likely to win.
Similarly, assuming we're talking about "matching against their usual opponents", 5x boost in damage and resilience is already very impressive, and added 5x in health and effect of all spells, I'm looking at you Gabriel, swiftly propels everyone involved much higher than expected.
This is what makes it more than 5x overall strength. Core Connection didn't just make them better - it propelled them above and beyond 95% of any enemy they could have encountered by putting them beyond the reach of low-tiers.
I think you two are arguing different points right now?Overall Strength =/= Combat Effectiveness
Two characters can be equal in Overall Strength but have a wide disparity in their Combat Effectiveness. This is easily apparent by comparing a Jack of All Trades and a Min-Maxer who have the same stat total, growth rate, and EXP spent on abilities.
They can be said to have the same Overall Strength, but there's going to be a big difference in their Combat Effectiveness.
Overall Strength = how strong you are
Combat Effectiveness = how useful you are
Well if you're going to argue over terminology.Overall Strength =/= Combat Effectiveness

Quell feels to me like something that lost a large part of its intended purpose when Kelll found out what Grand Dispel actually does.
