Uchiha Quest: Silver Edition [Naruto Reincarnation Quest]

Did you just say the guy that took on the Yondaime at 14 years old was not that skilled?
Yeah. He was compared to Naruto in a lot of ways, including being a trash ninja till they got super hax and then became super-skilled on top of the super hax. This is right after the super-hax, and thus before he got a chance to become super-skilled, leaving him at his comparatively trash skill level.

Err, what?! Clearly you need to bone up on Obito again. This is the guy who was calmly taking on KCM Naruto, Kakashi, Guy (going multiple Gates), and Killer Bee all at the same time and laughing about it.

Did you just completely ignore what I just said, in regards to the super hax followed by super skill?

Edit: To put it another way, remember how Naruto used to be a completely trash ninja? At the start of the series, how he basically sucked at everything and only had his shadow clones going for him? That's Obito. He, like Naruto, LATER became super duper awesome via extreme abuse of his hax abilities. But there was still a time before, when they were trash.

I don't think he was actually Naruto levels bad before getting hax. He was a genin at 9 and chunin at 11 according to wiki, and by the time Rin gets kidnapped(the first time) he was beating strong Jonins. The thing is he just always compared himself to Kakashi who is even more of a genius.

What "strong jonins" have we watched him beat around that time period (on his own, that is, I know we watch him fight some people along side Kakashi)? Because yeah, he's a chunin by then, but he was JUST a chunin. He decimated a large group of ninja, despite being at a skill level that the Village ranked as "chunin". Far from the "Fighting the Yondaime on equal footing" level we see later on, hax or nor hax.

He beats the Jonin who was basically man handling Kakashi (the first one when they go to save Rin). I figure because Kakashi's a Jonin at that point, another Ninja who is able to pretty easily take out his eye would be considered a strong Jonin.

This. This is it. That, and the fact that regardless of it being 'hax' or not, it's still technically strength in the Naruto Universe. So we can't discount what he did with his new Eye power.

Honestly, I cannot say approve trying to get the Sanbi. We will probably come face to face with A Rankers. Because you do NOT trust weaklings or incompetents with a fucking Bijuu.

[18] You haven't really spent much time playing around with your exceptional senses. Your chakra sense may be exceptional, but you can think of several situations where it might not be enough. Further, the Uchiha have the gift of the Sharingan. You may not have it yet, but the more you train for it now, the better it can serve you later. Perhaps you should see what your senses can really do? Train 'Perception' and 'Intelligence.' 5% chance to gain skill 'Tracking.'
[16] You've now covered the basics, you should start advancing a little bit, and look into things like bukijutsu. Train 'Strength,' 'Sight,' 'Touch,' and 'Intuition.' 65% chance to unlock skill 'Throwing,' 5% chance to unlock skill 'Bukijutsu.'
[14] Now that you have some degree of mobility, you should start actively training your skills. Your father does his katas every morning. Perhaps you should mimic him and see what happens? Train 'Taijutsu.' 5% chance of gaining training option 'Taijutsu' with Uchiha Ryota.

[18] You've admittedly become somewhat attached to your father, despite his undesirable heritage. Perhaps getting to know him better wouldn't be out of question.
[11] You won't be the only child affected by the events to come. You should try to interact with some of the others near your physical age. At the very least you can help them prepare for what they may face.

Your efforts over the past few years allowed you to ignore your keen senses to a certain extent. The moment you went a few days without a goal to work towards, you began to notice them once again.

As such, you decided that your time would be well spent examining the full degree of your new sensory abilities.

Your eyes are by far the most effective organ in your body, letting you count the barbs on a bird's feather as it flies past the window, proving that even without the sharingan the Uchiha have an impressive sense of sight. Your other four senses are not nearly as exceptional, but they still show you a world you were never able to experience as Tobirama.

As a training exercise, you've spent a good number of days trying to locate as many people and animals as possible while seated still in a single location, using only your five senses. You use your chakra sense to check your work, and have found that you can achieve a startling degree of success, especially for someone with no formal training in tracking.

Before trying the exercise, you found that disabling your chakra sense left you feeling somewhat blind to the world. Now, you feel more like you're simply receiving a different perspective on the world around.

Skill gained: Tracking!
Crit bonus roll gained: Perception!

You started out throwing rocks across the lake as a strength exercise, not really caring about where the throws went. Once you started hitting the trees on the opposite bank, you reexamined the utility of your drill. It was a bit underwhelming, comparing the memories you had of Tobirama threading a kunai through an eye-socket a mile away, with the exercise of hitting tree-branches with rocks, but a child's imagination is a wonderous thing, so you made it work.

A few weeks after starting, you were faced with a great temptation. Your father had returned from a mission and had left his weapons pouch lying out in the open. On the one hand, you were a three year old child, and it was highly unsafe for a child of three to play around with kunai and shuriken. One the other... this was your chance!

Yeah there really wasn't much of a debate.

When your mother returned with groceries an hour later, she found you in the backyard clumsily tossing kunai and shuriken at a tree. What proceeded was the loudest dressing-down you had heard in this lifetime, for both you and your father, and a week-long grounding. On the upside, you confirmed that kunai and shuriken weren't really that much of a step up from rocks.

Skill gained: Throwing!
Skill gained! Bukijutsu!

You had a theory to test out. When your parents caught you playing around with your chakra, they decided to coach you in order to ensure you learnt to use it right. When they caught you playing with weapons, they forbid you from doing so until you were older. What if, instead of one of the two catching you doing something, you went to them and started doing something with one of them already watching. Surely they would help you out.

The next morning you woke up early, and waited for your father in the yard in your training (play) clothes. As soon as he started his morning katas, you started following along as carefully as possible, in order to make the best impression. When he burst out into loud laughter, you were overcome with embarrassment. However, as soon as he regained control of himself, he came over to you and started actively guiding you through a set of forms. They were completely different from any of the hard-hitting, rigid forms of the Senju, but you found your body flowing into them with ease.

Training option gained: Taijutsu with Uchiha Ryota!
Skill gained: Uchiha Interceptor First!
Crit bonus roll gained: Taijutsu!

You were three years old when it finally happened... Your mother was finally called back into rotation, leaving you home along for a week with your father. You weren't quite certain why you were dreading the day so much. Was it because you finally had to stop lying to yourself?

Sure your father wasn't the same bastion of love, perfection, and oh-so-soothing chakra as your mother, but... neither was anyone else. At the same time, your father a was a far cry from the bloodthirsty monsters that would stab you through the body of a comrade that you had hated so deeply as Tobirama Senju.

You suppose it was finally time to give the man a chance. You were a bit stiff at first, which was easily dismissed under the excuse of separation anxiety, but after a few hours you found yourself warming up to the man. He was warm, light hearted, funny, spoiled you in ways your mother never would, and acted far more like a father than the warlord Butsuma. He was your father, and he loved you. You suppose it was time to accept that.

[11] You won't be the only child affected by the events to come. You should try to interact with some of the others near your physical age. At the very least you can help them prepare for what they may face.
1d100→6

On your mother's insistance, you decided to go with her to the park today. She claims you don't have many friends, and admittedly she's right. Tobirama had his brothers at the very least, you don't really have anyone but your parents.

Unfortunately it seems as if you made a miscalculation. The children at the park are... well... children.

You had hoped to see some glimmer if intelligence in at least a handful of them, but until now it never really set in how young three years old is: how young you are.

Wandering through the sea of squealing toddlers, you return to your mother's side and tug her hand.

"Okaa-chan... They're not smart..." you tell her. She looks down at you, trying to keep the sadness from her expression.

You raise your hands and she lifts you up.

"I'm sorry princess, I guess I forgot how special you are. They'll catch up to you soon enough, there's no need to worry," she reassures you, You're fairly certain she was also speaking to herself.

Either way her words wash over you. You tell yourself that you shouldn't really care. That as a shinobi of Konoha, nothing matters over your ability to perform your duty to your village.

Somehow you still hurt. Loneliness was never a concern in your past life. Tobirama always had someone to confide in, be it his brother or sister-in-law. You had no one of the sort.

You are now three years old. Your clan looks to you as the most promising child in the new generation, as such, they have assigned you a tutor. You tutor will be teaching you the basics of the shinobi arts until you reach the academy. Automatically train 'Strength,' 'Speed,' 'Chakra Control,' 'Taijutsu,' and 'Bukijutsu' every turn.

You do not want to rely exclusively on a tutor to advance your skills. You know that war is coming, you have to be prepared. You have (2+1 from Scrappy) actions to distribute. You may place multiple points in one action.
Distribute [3] Training Points:
[ ] You have an actual trainer for bukijutsu now, surely your mother won't mind if you practice some more in your free time. Train 'Bukijutsu' and 'Perception.'
[ ] You found yourself quite excited at the prospect of learning something completely new and useful with your father. Train with Uchiha Ryota. Train 'Taijutsu' and Uchiha Interceptor Fist.'
[ ] Not only is it useful, it is also extremely enjoyable. Moments like these will become rarer with age. Make the most of the ones you have, especially if they simultaneously help you improve your skills. Train with Nakamura Shiori. Train 'Chakra' and 'Mind's Eye of Kagura' with an additional +10 to each roll.
[ ] Your physical abilities are exceptional, and that's precisely why you should push them further. It's always smart to play to your strengths. Train 'Strength,' and 'Speed.'
[ ] You're becoming a tracking powerhouse, with your exceptional senses and your sensory abilities. Maybe you should see if your mother had any tips on tracking? Train with Nakamura Shiori. Train 'Perception' and 'Tracking' with an additional +10 to each roll.

Happy times become rarer during war. You know this well. Savor them while they last.
Choose [2]:
[ ] Spend more time helping your mother around the house. She already has to deal with your 'irregularities,' perhaps spending some 'normal' time with her will be nice?
[ ] You find that you actually like your father. Maybe spending more time with him will help you understand this better.
[ ] Your grandparents are obnoxious and demeaning, but at least they treat you with the kind of reverence you deserve. You would not be averse to spending more time with them, at the very least it will give you more time to learn about the inner workings of the clan.
[ ] You didn't have such a great time the last time you tried to interact with children your own age. Maybe take it a bit more slowly this time? There's supposed to be another genius child around your age, you should see about getting to know him.

Y3T1: 1x Chakra
Y3T1: 10x Strength
Y3T2: 1x Perception
y3T2: 1x Taijutsu

That last social roll was sad :(

Also, the roll for taijutsu was the first roll that was lucky but also not absurd, congratulations questers! This is starting to look like a real quest, not one run by bullshit bonuses instead of dice :p

Now that the +30 bonus from Once and Future Shinobi are gone, crazy multi crits are highly unlikely.

Ok I don't really have much to say here lol. This chapter was fun to write. Potentially only one turn left until we reach the academy!

Voting is open!

Can we try writing down some of our more important memories so we don't forget them, or is that purely left to the dice gods?

Well, for one, I really just want to leave it to the dice gods.

Two, leaving a notebook full of S-rank secrets lying around just sounds like a bad idea.

What happened to the +10? And don't we get an increase on rolls from the overflow on crits?

Thanks for the save!

Not as sad as that throwing action. 4 Separate dice and not a single crit?

Uh, ya'll got a 5x crit, 7x crit, and a 10x crit. I for one am more than happy with this turn of events. I can't wait for the swingback turn when every roll ends up being a 1. I can feel it coming.
