By the way, I should note that the choices here will affect focuses we take later down the line. It won't lock anything out either way, but... well, let's just say that reversing the government's previously declared intent may make Comrade Dai Li a tad nervous.
I got to say I did not know until just now that the Vote Tally thing only worked in the Quests and RP thread, this is frustrating. I think Plan Building Socialism In China is winning right now but I'll have to double check.
[X]Plan Building Socialism In China
-[X] Traitors and Imperialists
-[X] Yes, this is the best way to unify China
-[X] Allow Workers to Join Syndicalist-aligned Unions
-[X] A New Academy for a New China
-[X] Modernization is key
-[X] Downplay their role
-[X] Officially recognize the Jiangfu experiment was a success.
-[X] Favor Opportunism in the North
The Admiral is Gone. In his place the Japanese have installed a 'Republic' that knows to bow to Tokyo
As China slowly starts to reunite, America begins to divide. Reed has been overthrown, removed from office in a coup by General Douglas MacArthur. Over a hundred years of American Democracy have been interrupted, replaced by a Military Junta. But MacArthur's rule is shaky at best and America is starting to come apart at the seams.
Reed was able to escape the Coup and fled to Chicago. From there he was able to rally much of the Steel Belt into revolt against MacArthur. Reed has abandoned the US Constitution, vowing to use the Combined Syndicates to rebuild America along Socialist and Syndicalist Lines.
While much of the Federal Goverment accepted MacArthur's rule, if only out of either fear or simply a dislike of Reed's heavy handed tactics during his brief three months in office. The Pacific Coast however has declared MacArthur illegitmate and is demanding a restoration of the Constitution. Declaring a rival government in Sacramento known to the Outside world as the Pacific States of America. Despite being lead by Reed, they see the Combined Syndicates of America as an illegitimate government and as such they've elected California Governor Frank Merriam as their new President.
Finally there is Huey Long, the man, the myth the meme. Huey never accepted Reed's election as legitimate and had been on the verge of open revolt even before MacArthur's Coup. Since then the Kingfish, in a hasty alliance with Southern Democrats, Northern Industrialists such as Henry Ford, and other less desirable elements, have formed the American Union State. Vowing to rid America of the 'scourge' of both Syndicalism and MacArthur. Long is a complicated fellow, a Social Democrat in policy he never the less allies with many right wing elements and is more than willing to subvert democracy to get what he wants.
For now Peace holds in America but only for a limited time. MacArthur has given his three rivals a month to stand down, an ultimatum no side seems interested in listening to as they frantically try to rally an army together. IT seems that soon America will find themselves in the grip of a bloody civil conflict that may rip apart their once proud nation.
The Traitor Chen Jiongming has won against the Guangxi Clique, and has rather suspiciously changed their flag as well.
The moderate Minquan faction has secured a majority in the congress, ensuring that it will be their voice and vision that guides both the Central Committee and China in the next phase of the Revolution.
While Wang Jingwei may have guided the KMT from a hidden resistance to a full blown revolt, we have realized that the best person to guide us both to victory and to a new future for China is Madam Sun herself. Song Qingling is now President of the National Revolutionary Government. Originally only really holding power due to her status as Sun Yat-Sen's final wife and widow, Song has since proven herself a capable and inspirational leader during her time leading the Insurgent Zone. A Capable leader who's interested in ensuring China's future is democratic, something Wang Jingwei noticeably neglected. But elections are a distant concern for now. We hold only part of China, most of the country is still in the hands of Warlords, Reactionaries, and false Republicans. They will all have to dealt with before we can have a true Republic.
And we aren't the only ones dealing with reactionaries and German oppression. Unlike China itself, Indochina has been directly ruled by Germany for decades now and recently they've risen in revolt against the German forces in East Asia. While most of the Indochinese Rebellion is more radical and syndicalist aligned then even are more hardline factions. Among those taking part in the Rebellion is the Dai Viet Kuomingtang or DVQDD, a sister organization dedicated to a free, democratic Asia. While we don't have much to spare right now in terms of aid, it couldn't hurt to reach out to them and see if Indochina is interested in long term cooperation.
Since we have a fair bit of PP flowing in right now I'm going to invest in a Design company. Design companies tend to increase research and either make weapons better or like this one makes it easier and quicker to produce center equipment. Since we lack Motorized at the moment. Norinco will prove the most useful right now.
I'm also investing a bit into naval designers so we can actually build warships as that may prove useful down the line. Normally most nations come with ships they can build already, we can't we just come with a few basic hull types that need parts like engines to actually build and you can't put stuff on a ship without experience, experience which is otherwise impossible for us to get. I'll go over it more when navy becomes important.
While the Minquan's victory against the Minsheng faction has generally been received positively. Not all are happy about Song Qingling's rise to power. Sun Fo has taken the Right-Wing of the Minquan and split it off into his own faction.
Meaning there are now four factions within our government. The Minzu, The Minquan, the Minsheng, and the ZhongTeJu. These are the only factions that will matter for the rest of our playthrough with the KMT.
Of course our government is more than just one person. While Song is head of state, we need a head of government as well and cabinet to go along with them. We have two options to lead alongside Song. First is Chiang Ching-kuo
The only Living son of Chiang Kai-Shek and Song's sister's stepson. Chiang brings experience and political moderation.
The Second is Fang Junying. While less experienced politically than Ching-kuo, her years living in the Commune of France have given her a revolutionary fervor that many in the government find appealing.
So who leads alongside Song? The Experienced Moderate or the Eager Revolutionary?
Completely random note but I was looking for pictures of Song in the 1930s to see if Kaiserreich was again having it's pictures of Female rulers be noticeably younger than they actually were at the time. A Particularly bad example of this is Pre-Rework Mexico could restore the Mexican Empire, and the picture of the Empress they used was from when she was in her 20s even though the woman by this point was in her 70s. Anyways this lead me to the Assassin's Creed Wiki of all things and apparently Sun Yat-Sen and Madam Sun were both part of the big bad Chinese division of the Templars. Which just..why would you do that?
I know completely irrelevant to this thread, unless someone makes an Assassin's Creed mod for HOI4, but I just had to share this bit of nonsense.

Like Brutus was totally fighting for Democracy when he stabbed Caesar.
Templars had agents on both sides of the Russian Civil War.
Somehow both Mao and Chang Kai-Shek were Templars.
Henry Ford was a Templar who used the apples of eden for what can only be called the most mundane tasks.
Every Single Leader in World War II save for apparently Winston Churchill was a Templar. Despite this it still took until 1945 for Assassins to kill Hitler.
King Arthur was real and was a Proto-Templar.
Queen Victoria was apparently pals with some of the Assassins.
Well I mean both have possibly negative interpretations. One is nepotism combined with people getting power based on their names and the other maybe a sign Song was willing to push for an untested revolutionary being one of the leaders of the government just because they were another woman.
The National Revolutionary Government is now led by two women, both chosen on their own merits. Impressive a for a country that is within living memory of bound feet.
Our new Premier; Fang Junying is a Happy Amateur which is less than ideal but not the worse. In RL Fang took part in the assassination attempt on Prince regent Zai Feng. She committed suicide in the early 1920s out of frustration with corruption in China
Our foreign minister is Zhou Enlai, he's good at getting us trade deals. In RL he was the first Premier (IE: Prime Minister) of the PRC under some school teacher named Mao. Doing his best to try and reign in the madness of the Cultural Revolution
Economics Minister is Zeng Zhongming. Who like me appreciates the value of railroads in HO4. I have no idea who he was in RL because Wikipedia refuses to tell me.
Finally our Interior Minister is Dai Chungfeng, commonly known as Dai Li. The Dai Li is the secretive and elite police force of Ba Sing Se who work to capture, interrogate, and imprison political dissidents...wait no that's Avatar the Last Airbender. In RL Dai Li was known as the Chinese Himmler. For the secret spy stuff he did for Chiang Kai-Shek, not for starting Neo-pagan cults. Regardless of that I'm sure he's a fine and upstanding individual in KR.
The First Repartriated Congress is at an end. A lot has been done but there's a lot still to do.
Using the PP to hire anotherteam. This one focused on Industry and more importantly, building Factories quicker.
To no one's suprise, MacArthur's demands were ignored and now the Second American Civil War has begun in earnest. New England has been occupied by Canada and the British Exiles while the rest of the nation rips itself apart.
Today saw the Premiere of our first movie. Which was about the legend of Hua Mulan. Naturally comparisons between Mulan and Soong are becoming quite common. The movie was actually made in RL with the same actress and Director but two years later as a reaction to Japan's invasion.
So while I will have a vote next update on how we want to do the Focuses, there is one that really needs to be done first before we do anything. The NRA must modernize.
