[X] Regional Militias
With so few divisions on the board, and how our enemies at this stage will tend to have both more divisions and more equipment than us, I tend to prefer more troops and their accompanying equipment over the more nebulous benefits of some Army XP and quicker infantry weapons tech.

On the other hand, the Army XP would contribute towards the Army Reform decisions which are also rather vital. I tended to just rely on all the fighting to help raise that.

[X] One-Nation-One-Army

I find that experience is everything in the early game of HOI4; lets you make an army that isn't shit.

[X] Regional Militias

Divisions. You'll need them, and not only does Regional Militias give you some, it gives you a division template that's really cheap to produce.

Realized I kind of forgot to post the image of the Ma Clique Leader

Horrible spelling of Muslim aside that is one of the best subtitles to a headline I've ever seen.

Left Kuomintang Part 2
Normally I won't update this quickly, particularly with more important votes.

So both the Anqing Clique and the Dogmeat general have declared war on the League, with it's increasing loss of provinces and the now likely death of the League-Marshal, has effectively become just another Clique.

Now our main goal right now, beyond general survival is to grab as much land as we can before the Nanjing Clique Collapses. Now it's entirely possible the League can survive and defeat all three of us, I've seen it happen, but it's pretty rare. So we need to make sure we grab as much as we can before the Anqing do. As at least from my experience early game Left KMT is a bit of a race, we need to defeat the Nanjing, Anqing and Shangdong Cliques as quick as we can before things become bogged down.

This is both good and bad for us. Bad in the short term because now Anqing is stronger, but better in the long term as this kind of Locks the Qing out of it's stronger routes. Particularly since siding with Anqing over Nanjing means they've taken the side of the Anti-Concessions movement, As Anqing's whole thing is "Yeah Germany Sucks", which means they're not getting a lot of aid from Germany if Any. Also it's less likely unfun weird stuff is gonna happen.

Two more Cliques have broken away from Nanjing though both have kept out of the fighting. The first is Liangguang, two provinces held together by Governor-General Chen Jiongming. Guangzhou, the site of Sun Yat-sen's first uprising against the Qing, being controlled by one of his biggest rivals is an insult we will surely one day correct. In RL Jiongming would be dead by now but death by typhus is pretty easy to butterfly away.

Jiongming is the leader of another political faction that can take control of China, Federalism. Federalism wants a democratic but decentralized Federal Republic ruling China, based largely on the United States of America. This is unsurprisingly called the United Provinces of China, which I keep wanting to call the United Republic of Nations because this for some reason reminds me so much of Legend of Korra. Despite us both democratic, bad blood and completely incompatible models for China's future means it is simply impossible to ally with him. But others may rise to power in Lingguang, time will tell.

Next is the Huan Clique. Lead by Zhao Hengti. Who was an ally of Sun but seems to have been sidelined after his death. So it's debatable if he is a possible ally for us or not. I do have to give props to the man for being annoyed that he was appointed and not elected.

As the war rages, an American journalist by the name of Edgar Snow (In RL the first western journalist to interview Chairman Mao) has come to Longyan. There he interviewed everyone from Wang Jingwei and Madame Sun to common soldiers and simple farmers. It says book but either he's a really REALLY fast writer or they meant article. Either way his accounts have hit the shelves in the west, which will hopefully improve our image in the world. It's stuff like this that kind of makes me wonder why Madam Sun isn't in some sort of starting ministry position. Because it's pretty clear that Soong has played a pretty major role in keeping the KMT alive since the Northern Expedition. It's a minor complaint I'll admit.

Well we completed the majority of our first objectives. Giving us quite a bit of land. So much so we kind of have to scramble to secure the front.

The Bharatiya commune (Red India) is offering us volunteers to aid us in our glorious struggle

Speaking of the Commune, while much of the Left wing of the KMT fled to France, we do have two generals in India serving as military advisers. We could certainly use their help and whatever material they can bring over.

The City of Nanchang is ours.

Depending on Regional Militias goes against both our best interests militarily and against our general ideology. The NRA is one army for one nation.

The Nanjing Clique has collapsed, if nothing else Germany's exploitation of our country has been reduced. We took a bit more than average for the Left KMT. Getting Nanchang before Anqing is a bit tricky normally. But Anqing does have control of Nanjing, the largest city in former League Territory. Our goal now is to go to war with them as soon as possible. Hopefully while they're at war with Shandong.

The generals have returned. bringing with them guns and some manpower. Also some mildly right wing though, which is odd considering they where in Syndicalist India. I guess they became terrified of Ghandi and all his talk of Nuclear weapons.

At the very least we need Xue Yue. He has the best attack of all our current generals and attack is what we need right now. Just ignore his reactionary talk. In RL he was friends with Claire Lee Chennault who lead the Flying Tigers. Chennault dubbed him the Patton of Asia, which is cool.

Most of the KMT's Central Committee has returned from exile in Paris. Bring with them a french trained and equipped regiment of Chinese expatriates. More guns and people to restrain Wang Jingwei. Good times.

Now that the very first phase of our liberation is complete and we aren't quite at war with Anqing just yet. We have a question on our hands. Do we keep the capital in Longyan or do we make Nanchang our Provisional Capital? Longyan was an excellent base of operations for our insurgency but the traits that make it an excllent insurgent base, remote location and small size, hinder our civil and military administration. Nanchang is much larger, better connected, and closer to the border with Anqing. The mechanic benefits of each are minor but both could help right now. So where should the temporary capital of the KMT be located. Longyan or Nanchang?

[] Move the capital northwards
[] Longyan's defenses are still too valuable.

If we're on the defense, we lost anyway so let's move forward.

[X] Move the capital northwards

E: Noting for future reference that RL China's center of population has been in southern Henan since the 50s, closest to... probably Nanyang because it's the largest of the three cities there.

Hmm.... how much do we need political power right now? Because while it's ultimately ephemeral compared to stability, when you need it, you need it.
