I do love how blatantly aggressive the phrasing is. We've made contact with the DVQDD but many are wondering if it's worth the effort. The Indochinese revolution is radical, very radical, far more so than ours and it seems unlikely the DVQDD will lead any future Indochina. If we ally with the DVQDD and thus Indochina, we will be unable to do anything if they go down a dangerous political path. But if we keep them at arms length will could intervene if they prove too dangerous.
As the text implies if we don't cooperate or Indochina rejects cooperation
We will be able to intervene and create a puppet. However allying with them now allows us to enlist them as a possible fully ally if we form the East Asian National League. So do we try and aid Indochina or do we take a more pragmatic approach.
[] Let Us Cooperate with them.
[] We will not cooperate with non-Chinese.
Despite Ideological differences and historic rivalries the DVQDD has secured us an mutual alliance of sorts with Indochina. If they survive, and if we survive, we'll have a firm ally in our corner in the future.
One last nation has torn itself from the corpse of the United States. Hawaii has revolted, claiming basically every pacific island the US had that hadn't already been grabbed by Japan. While Hawaii was briefly ruled by an American dominated Republic, in an ironic twist of fate the Republic resigned and gave authority back to the Natives, who restored their Kingdom under a constitutional monarchy. Hawaii is ruled by Hawaiians once more
Peru and Bolivia have merged back together, techincally giving Bolivia a coast once more.
So land warfare in HOI4 goes by one of four doctrines Mobile Warfare (Basically Blitzkrieg). Superior Firepower (CANNONS) Grand battleplan (Planning) And mass assault (Human waves followed either by Deep Battle or More human waves). I believe Modernization works best with Superior Firepower, if I'm wrong feel free to correct me.
Chen Jiongming, the Traitorous Fool. Has grown bold enough to proclaim a rival government in Guangzhou. Allying with the tiny Hunan Clique and the Warlords in Yunnan. Gunangzhou itself has thirty divisions and Yunnan has roughly twenty so the two combined is a bit of a problem. Hunan only has like 4 so they're just additional bodies. This now means there are four rival goverments fighting for control of China. The Federalists in Guangzhou. Ourselves of course.
The Puppet Emperor in Beijing.
And the Fengtian 'Republic' in Manchuria. Chen, Zhang, Puyi, and Soong. Four people claiming to be China's true leader. In time only one will remain, with might of arms, faith in the revolutionary and maybe a bit of lucky, that will hopefully be us when all is said and done.
Which leads to a shitty DnD alignment chart and a handy new feature exclusive to China. The Alignment Chart tells us basically where every faction stands even if they're not in an alliance. Fengtian's faction is called the Anguojun.
The Qing are curiously listed as Unaligned, possibly because they have no friends. We however do have friends. All the way in Xinjiang.
Man a lot of Cliques are just completely uninterested in this struggle.
A look at our friend in Xinjiang. Probably the only Social Democrat that can purge whole groups. Because everyone in Xinjiang is an asshole. In RL he ruled the region, briefly having it as puppet state for the Soviets before rejoining with the KMT and eventually fleeing to Taiwan.
It appears Reed's revolution has inspired the now free Philippines to go Syndicalist as well.
The Syndies are talking again, this time in London (Which is naturally why I focused on France for some reason). One imagines the Second ACW will consume much of their time
The Ma Clique has angered the Buddhists in both Autocratic Tibet and Social Democratic Mongolia. No part of China is free from war it seems.
Liu Xiang has naturally decided to take advantage of Tibet's distraction and is trying to grab some land.
Japan stirs. The great imperialists to the East have emerged from their recent strife and have begun planning to expand by any means it sees fit. Needless to say this is...concerning for us.
So Serbia has allied with Romania and Greece in a giant "Bulgaria Sucks" Alliance. Serbia and Greece are nothing particularly special politically though Greece is quite fun to play. Romania is something different of course. Romania is, as the title of the nation suggests, lead by the freaking IRON GUARD. The Iron Guard were a group of Fascists who were considered too extreme by other Romanian Fascists, and most Romanian Fascists were too extreme by the Nazis.
The Nazis disliked them for their cruelty and savage behavior. Naturally do to Kaiserreich's fanbase being extremely weird, their are Unironic Iron Guard Fanboys among the fanbase and Meat Hook memes used to be an issue. And you really don't know why the Iron Guard are associated with Meat Hooks. Codreanu is basically KR's Hitler. Well more specifically he's one half of KR's Hitler. The half full of hatred and genocide.
A bit of instability in the nightmare regime of the Iron Guard has lead to a Monarchist Revolt in the North. Though this is a basically the lighter shade of black as Carol II was a massive bastard.
Meanwhile the Dutch (Who have one of the larger focus trees in the mod) have had an election which seems to have ended in center-left rule.
Here's the general we got from our focus. He likes tanks, we don't have any tanks yet so he's gonna sit it out for a while.
The Indochinese have successfully thrown off the Yoke of German Oppression. The Region is free from Imperial powers both domestic and foreign.
So we have a couple of places now we can go with our focuses.
Despite the Congress we aren't bound militarily. We can strike North or West. So do we fight the United Provinces of China and their Federalist Doctrine first, or do we march North for a Second Northern Expedition. Which will bring us into conflict with the Qing and has us contact Manchuria in one way or another. The Qing have somewhere between 30 and 40 divisions so they're slightly weaker than the UPC. OF course I'm not going to attack until we're closer to ready. Which means we have other focuses to do.
We have Revive China which gives us the ability to build some more Industry. I'm ignoring Assert Independence as most of what it does really can wait until later.
There's Provisional Legal Code which allows us to integrate faster.
And of course the rest of our military Tree
Conquest Focus
[] Focus on the North First
[] Focus on the West First
The Second part of this vote is a bit different as I'm asking for you guys to vote on the order in what you guys want me to prioritize the non-conquest focuses. With 1 being the most important, 2 being the second most important and 3 being the least.
Economic and Political Focuses.
[] Restore the Academy/ Dare-To-Die Corps
[] Provisional Legal Code
[] Revive China Program
Also if you guys have write in ideas for this vote (IE going from specific focuses to another specific focus or something like that), I'm open to it, but it will be subject to approval.
So Hunan is basically completely unfinished so it won't really do anything but we do need this focus to get to actually attacking Chen.
Spain and it's Comatose King have narrowly avoided a Civil War and have aligned with Germany. Leaving France is a very dangerous vice grip.
Though it's not all bad news for France as they've regained control of Haute-Savoie, which had been under Swiss "Protection" since the French Civil War
Chile and their allies in Patagonia have declared war on the Carles Regime currently controlling the Majority of Argentina.
While we do have some build up to do before we get to war with Guangzhou, it's important to have this option available.
It appears Von Goring flew too close to the son as he is nwo dead and Mittelafrika has fallen apart into a hundred pieces. Exploding so hard it lagged my computer for a moment.
The newest General to join the front is Sun Liren. Sun studied at Purdue University, which I used to live by, before going to Britain. Where he took part in the British Revolution and was KMT's attache to the UoB for a while.
The Kingdom of Burma is the newest place to experince revolution. The new Union of Burma is widely considered a Puppet of Red India.
I was waiting for that phrase to get into the mod somehow. But yeah an extensive program with multiple public works projects is going to be needed to bring China to par with the West.
A look at the Division the Modernization focus gave us. Not an expert on these things but it looks decent.
MacArthur's Junta has collapsed. Apparently undone by a pro-Pacific Revolt in D.C. Now the fate of the United States is in the Hands of Merriam, Reed, and Long.
It appears Jiongming realizes we're a threat to his false revolutionary is mobilizing his collection of bandits against us.
Naturally we're not going to take that laying down. Though it will be some time before we attack. I have a plan in mind don't you worry.
With the Iron Guard victorious, The Belgrade Pact has seen fit to attack their mutual enemy in Bulgaria, kicking off the Fourth Balkan War.
We're forming a National Reconstruction Commission that will plan a nationwide program of standardized industrial projects.
I somehow missed the first event for this. But the Young Sultan of Egypt has allied with Saudi Arabia and the reinstalled King of Libya. Together with the Nominally allied Republic in Iran and the Rebellious Sultan of Yemen, they have joined in an attack on the weakened Ottoman Empire.
Farouk, being born after Point of Divergence, is basically a complete opposite of his RL self. A visionary leader instead of a corrupt hedonist.
Hawaii and Siam have allied with Japan, which will be a problem if and when we find ourselves at with the Japanese Empire.
While Chen sees us as a Threat, apparently he has seen the Qing Empire and it's Zhili Masters as the bigger threat at the moment. a Mistake which will cost him dearly.
And this is what I called Hubris. This is why we waited, never interrupt your enemy while they're in the middle of making a mistake.
It is funny that my SB and SV LP threads are basically at opposite points right now.
As you could tell by the last picture, Liberia went socialist, so socialist they're Totalist. Liberia has some...interesting routes.
Naturally we're not going to waste Guangzhou's mistake.
And the Qing are even doing a wonderful job of taking all the hard losses for little gain. Wonderful.
If nothing else my generals are proactive.
So the NRC does two things for us right now. One it allows us to increase our support, always important.
And allows us to build Civilian Factories. Those are important, as they're our man means of trade and building things like Military Factories and anti-air guns. Naturally I'm going to be industrializing as much as I can.
Of course Industry alone will not makes us a power, we need to develop our own Scientific abilities.
Apparently Austria got involved in the 4th Balkan War, putting the Belgrade pact in a very bad position.
The Hunan were the first to fold, and with their collapse we've taken a number of guns.
Venice, clearly supported by Austria. Has rebelled against the strongly Anti-Austrian ANTI Party that now controls Milan.
