I think this is just cooler and more unique honestly. I'm waaay more excited to read about this in comparison to a more direct brawl.

Just because we have an overall strategy doesn't mean we can't have sub-strategies that work around its weaknesses. If Fast and Furious stumbles against a great defence we can find ways to break through or get around it, maybe Rock Smash or Brick Break could help. If they outspeed us we can find ways to slow them down, Drilbur can throw mud everywhere and Roland can leave bug or fire mines, or use his shadow clone jutsu when he's strong enough.

More that Roland is also tending to be Fast And Furious himself, so what works against blitz Roland will probably work on blitz Drilbur.

Whereas Fast Roland taking advantage of broken terrain by being a ghost would only be partly impeded if the ground wasn't breakable or the opponent wasn't blitzable
 
Hm...I'm not sure which option I prefer. On one hand, environmental control sounds pretty nice plus points for helping set up the field for our other pokemon. On the other hand I'm a fan of favoring speed stat. But then again there is the weakness of more confined spaces let alone moves that can interact. Such as making it so the slower Pokemon goes first to moves that are more powerful if done after the opponent. But environment has the factor of it being turned against us...
 
Welp, the votes seem to be going in a particular direction... sorry my fellow Blitzkriegerz, but i think field control trumps Raw power for me this time. Lets hope any future mon we get likes doing enviroment damage.

Edit: huh.... I just realized if we somehow get some of the mons discussed in previous posts... Seismic shadow kimda works too. I mean...
Larvesta (eventually Volcarona) Webs and fire and webs on fire (maybe even electro web)
H Decidueye (let me cope) If the are is destroyed he can take pot shots from cover with Triple arrow and Aura sphere (maybe move around if he could learn shadow sneak)
Lucario: Aura vision is basically Xray vision. Hard to hide from someone who can basically trace your life force. (The x ray bit kinda applies to the shinx line as well, now that i think about it). Huh.... i kind like the sound of this.
 
Eh, I'm fine with either thing winning here.

As an unrelated sidenote, I finally overcame my Pokedex bias and actually sat down to play all the way through Pokémon White. Sakamander will be happy to note that my first instinct when naming my Axew was to give Roland here a spiritual friend and name her Bradamante.
 
Seismic Shadow encourages catching other pokemon with unconventional mobility such as flying and digging and/or effects that leave hazardous terrain or benefit from hazardous terrain. Fast and Furious encourages catching more pokemon with high Speed. Either one is actually pretty open all told.
