This whole post was great if course, but I love this line especially. It really sells the vastness of 40K that you can't tell if you are underground or in a ship.

Do we have time to fly everyone out on rocket jets powered by our burning heart?

So, pursuing an entirely separate path to Enlightenment is generally pointless - you would have to start all over again in the best case, and you might even need to unlearn whole parts of your original path when they conflicted with the wisdom of the new one.

However, it is entirely possible to synthesise a new path by combining two or more existing schools into a single unitary Path. The more common elements they share, the easier this is to accomplish - Vandire himself is clearly in the process of formalising a unitary Path that combines the Administratum Path (which focuses on extracting a 'tithe' from other people or the world and using it as you desire) and the Ecclesiarchal Path (which harnesses the burning zealotry of faith, yours and others). Or it would be more accurate to say that he has already done this, and is now trying to force the ascendency of his new way over its predecessors.

The Moirae believe in attempting something similar, combining the Mechanicus pursuit of Akasha with the Ecclesiarchy's use of Miracles. You're not sure if they have succeeded, but as a supporter of theirs you are certainly free to make the attempt yourself.

Independently of any such synthesis, it is also possible to learn the individual Arts and Techniques of a rival path, but this generally requires figuring out a way to adapt them to your own paradigm. Having passed through the Runic Realm, the Young Mistress is well suited to such adaptability of thought and spirit - now she just needs to find teachers.

Nobody knows. For that matter nobody is entirely sure whether they are even a Sect in the traditional sense - they certainly don't seem to recruit or seek enlightenment in the traditional fashion. It is assumed that they pursue some manner of path set out for them by the Golden Emperor, but he was always secretive and capable of doing tremendous harm to anyone who tried to steal his wisdom, so the specifics are not well known.

Time, certainly, and yes "forming a jet-plume of flame at my wrists and ankles" is indeed the standard Omnissiah Igvita movement art.

The issue is that menials are fragile, and being hauled bodily through the air in a hurry (and by a woman who cannot use her hands to provide additional control if she wishes to carry them) to be dumped on the ground could well cause them injury.

Very loosely inspired, since I don't know enough about the actual philosophy to feel confident making direct references.

The Omnissiah knows all, comprehends all. To reach the Divine Realm, one must also be able to know and comprehend all. If there are two beings possessed of total knowledge and comprehension, then they must surely understand each other, and in understanding be able to predict each other without error.

If you can predict the thoughts and actions of another with total and perfect confidence, then how are they anything more or less than an extension of yourself? Thus, to reach the Divine Realm is to become one with the Omnissiah.

(This incidentally is how Mechanicus orthodoxy reconciles the notion of the Emperor being the Omnissiah yet also clearly having once walked the land as a lesser being. Perhaps he was not the Omnissiah then, but he became so upon his ascent to the Divine Realm.)
 
There are two major sub-schools of Vedanta, the Advaita Vedanta of Adi Shankara which posits nondualism – that ultimate reality (Brahman) and human soul (Ātman) are identical and all reality is interconnected oneness, and Vishishtadvaita of Ramanuja which posits qualified nondualism – that ultimate reality (Brahman) and human soul are different but with the potential to be identical.

Lastly there is Suddhadvaita by Vallabha. The school of in-essence monism or purified non-dualism of Vallabha sees equality in "essence" of the individual self with God. There is no real difference between the two (like the analogy of sparks to fire). However, unlike Shankara's Advaita, Vallabha does not deny God as the whole and the individual as the part. The individual soul is not the Supreme (Satcitananda) clouded by the force of avidya, but is itself Brahman, with one attribute (ananda) rendered imperceptible. The soul is both a doer and enjoyer. It is atomic in size, but pervades the whole body through its essence of intelligence (like sandalwood makes its presence felt through its scent even if sandalwood can't be seen).

Unlike Advaita, the world of Maya is not regarded as unreal, since Maya is nothing else than a power of Ishvara. He is not only the creator of the universe but is the universe itself. Vallabha cites the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad account, that Brahman desired to become many, and he became the multitude of individual souls and the world. Although Brahman is not known, He is known when He manifests Himself through the world.

There's a significant chunk of the Mechanicus that worships a holy trinity, separating the all-knowing, the Machine God, from the physical manifestation of the Emperor, the Omnissiah, and the ever present aspect of power, the Motive Force. I wonder if that chunk of the cult is around in this AU.

So there migth yet be hope for building a body truly fit for containing and harnessing the fury of a star. And most importantly, an unified understanding of Energy and Matter. With potentially combining this with the mysteries of Miracles. Yes, I'm just a tiny bit stoked.
