Chapter 3.5
5 [X] Go confront the group, see what they're doing.
4--[X] Call it in, just in case. Better safe than sorry.
1[X] Hold back and watch them
1-[X] Prepare to ambush them if necessary

"Stay here." You tell Yukari and Fubuki as you go over to Houshou's location.

"Eh?" The two still look confused but they do as you say and stay behind the Zero.

You see Houshou and the girls are chatting in Japanese with some English word being thrown around as you approach her. Not waiting you interrupt. "Houshou we might have a problem." Their attention rapidly goes to you, Houshou smile stops while Miyafuji and Ikazuchi are muddled. "Those men over there might be trouble so call your higher ups and let them know. I'm gonna check it out."

You don't wait for a reply as you jog over to the suspicious men. Moving closer you notice one of the men has a shirt that's inflated with abnormal creases. "Hey! Where's your escort?" You decide to make up some bullshit to stall some time.

The men stare at you for a bit till one opens his mouth. Brown Hair, blue eyes, Caucasian, your instincts say trouble but you suppress it. "What seems to be the problem?" His voice has an accent that you can't place. You scan the rest of the men, ages range mostly 20s you guess, white, nothing to note expect that their uniforms are out of order.

As you open your mouth to say something you see one man in the back draw a pistol.

He fires a shot between two guys and your shield appears to stop the round. You look at the squashed round against your shield, judging by the angle it would have been a miss but no chances now. As you swing your Thompson you see that the others are drawing their weapons.

"INTRUDERS! NAZIS!" You shout and back away from the hostiles.
---

---

For some reason you're staring at the sky right now. Now that's strange considering the events that transpired before you think. Right now though, you can't hear anything, you faintly feel that your torso is a bit sore, can't feel your lower legs, your left arm still works, your right is not responding.

You look down and check out your body, it's intact so that's good news. Upper legs looks okay, left arm seems untouched, your right however looks a bit different that it should, it's jutting a bit more to the right than it should.

You use your good arm and push yourself a bit upward to see what the fuck happened. In front of you is the sight of smoke, shredded bloody bodies and clothes. You observe some scarring on the deck, definitely fucking explosives that detonated. You identify a faint blue glow from behind the smoke, what the hell is all that passes through your head.

Towards your left there's an untouched Nazi, lucky bastard, that's getting up on his feet. He swing his head around and finds you, you note the angry flame in his eyes. He attempts to grab a weapon when an arrow pierces his right shoulder. As he recoils back from the shot, another one hits his left thigh followed by one that punctures the middle of his chest. He goes down and the body twitches a bit.

To your right there's two other men with their back turned to you and they appear to be talking to someone. As you try to angle yourself to see more your left hand slips and you fall over. The only thing you see is the sight of a German hat.

What to do? (Very tempted to just have nothing but that's too mean)

Chapter 3.6
[X] Use your pistol(s)
[X] Self aid (simple) Fix your your right arm and jab morphine in you
[X] Get your weapon ready and overwatch

You push yourself up for a bit before you fall on your back. You're incredibly glad that you can't feel shit right now as you use your left arm to feel your injured shoulder. It's a dislocated shoulder probably, hopefully. You try several times to push should back into place and, third times the charm, it goes in. You maneuver your right hand, looks okay and it seems to work just fine. As a test you fumble for your aid kit to take out a morphine Syrette, uncap it with your mouth and jab it in your thigh, not proper procedure but fuck it.

As you squeeze the tube you reach for the BHP on your left holster. You check the pistol out, unsafe it, and made sure there's a round chambered. You do the same with your .45 when you finish administering the drug. When you're done you watch over the bloody mess, mostly on the two males.

The two men are backing away from the ship girl as she approaches them. You notice that they're hesitant at pointing their weapons at her, their arms mildly shaking. You can't hear shit so you have no idea what their saying but from their faces show that the German ship is furious at the two. You can't get a good sight on the men but when one of them looks over at your direction you see that he's a nervous wreck, a young man crying.

When he spots you he turns to fire his pistol several times at you with his eyes closed, if you could hear he'd be screaming you'd bet. The shield deploys, with small cracks all over it, and stop the few bullets in that would have missed you. You counter by raising your 1911 and fire off three rounds, not bothering to aim down the sights. They hit his left leg, stomach and chest, dropping him.

The other kraut notices and fires towards you. He's older and more accurate, the rounds are place closer that the other man's but are no match for your defense. Again, you put some .45 ACP into him, seeing blood spurt from his right knee, upper right torso, and neck. He drops to his knees and bleeds out. He attempts to aim his weapon, consequently you put two more in his chest, making him slump forward. Tough fucker.

You're sweating, partially numb, sore, fucking mentally tired, but alive. Your hearing is finally coming back with the accompanying sound of sirens and people yelling in Japanese and English, oh and the wind, can't forget that. The smell, you'd rather not describe. You decide to survey behind you, what you have in view is Houshou holding Miyafuji down and there's people behind the Zero.

You get up and try to use your feet but they're too numb so you stop and settle for a sitting position. Across from you a young teen slowly walks out from the cloud with Lugers in hand, the fucker has a mild smile on his face. The ship girl runs on the deck and from her face is horrified in what she sees, likely didn't see a thing from her position on the boarding bridge.

The only familiar word you hear her say is halt when she shouts in German but the guy can't hear or is ignoring her while he points his pistols at you. His volley goes fucking wild with none even touching your shield, instead they go short or go far by your sides.

Your response is accurate 9mm and .45 at his center of mass, however the glow of a barrier appears. You fire off all your shots at hit, you note his barrier has severe cracks running across it.

He doesn't seem to give a shit, furthermore he drops his Lugers to pull out a knife while walking towards you. Fucking hell.

Choice
[] Reload and Fire off your pistols as fast as you can
[] More Dakka, find your Tommy and spray
[] Get up and finish him (Challenge 30, S+E+1d30)

Chapter 3 End
4 [X] More Dakka, find your Tommy and spray
2 [X] Get up and finish him (Challenge 30, S+E+1d30)

Holstering your .45 and 9mm, you search behind you to see your Tommy is just about 5 feet away. Crawling on your belly you reach it and see that the magazine is fucked, the bottom is blown off. You give the weapon a once over to see no other apparent problems and reload it.

You roll to your back and aim at the last Nazi who seems to saying something to the German ship girl. Like you give a fuck about what they're saying hence you fire an entire volley. It's an inaccurate burst but the rounds hit the hostile's barrier which cracks even more. His attention goes back to you and he starts to charge.

As you reload you see a arrow fly over you and shatters the shield that was protecting the kraut. The arrow itself misses him but it was enough to make the bastard stop his creepy smile. It's also good for you since you can finish him off. You aim for his right leg and fire. You can tell that they hit when he collapses on the bloody deck. While he gets up he materializes a surprise as he looks down on himself all bloody from his dead buddies. You let off another round of .45s, hitting his lower chest.

It doesn't stop him from blankly focusing on you and his attempt to throw his knife at you. You observe the blade fly and lands no where close to you. You zero in and pull the trigger, this time several bullets hit his neck which separates the man's head from his body. You put a few more on the body to make it sag on the deck.

You watch for any movement from the corpses, finding none you fire what's left of your magazine randomly at the deceased. With that done you collapse, letting go of your weapon and just stare at the sky. Fucking bullshit. It's only a few seconds when you hear the familiar voice of your Sergeant calling out.

"JOHN! JOHN! WHAT'S GOING ON?"

"CLEAR!" Is all that you respond with, too much going on to remember right now. You hear the sounds of footsteps coming closer from different directions. Eventually you see the faces of Kerry and Houshou over you.

"Jesus what did you do?" He looks like he's seen the grim reaper himself.

"Not on me." You meekly wave your right hand as he examines you.

You feel and hear the ripping of cloth from your legs. "You're bleeding."

"That's news to me." You pull out your aid kit and wait for someone to take it in which Houshou does.

"You're lucky it's not that bad." You look around to see that more soldiers have come aboard the ship. Kerry turns around to address them. "Hey you! Check the bodies, find what ever you can about these guys and secure those guns. Go!" You barely feel the gauze being applied on your lower leg.

"Sergeant we have an infirmary on the ship. We can take him there." You sense Houshou pulling you upright and your waist. She's strong, gotta admit.

Kerry nods his head in agreement. "Yeah that sounds good." Just as he goes for your legs Houshou shakes her head.

"We'll handle it while you and your men deal with this." You look behind the Sarge to see more MPs, your Captain, and more officers coming aboard the ship.

"Shit. Take care of him." He gets up and starts to go to them when you speak out.

"Sergeant, I'm going to pass out." You close your eyes and drift off without a further word. Not going to deal with this crap right now, leave it to someone else to fix this problem.

Chapter 4.0
[X] Save

When you open your eyes you see an unfamiliar metal ceiling. Scanning around it seems like the infirmary of the Akagi, given the Japanese symbols, writings, whatever they use, and the cabinets of medicine. Around you there are empty beds, no wait, the one next to you is occupied by Yoshika, sleeping under the covers.

Noting nothing else, you flip the covers to see that your lower pants have been cut off, exposing your bandaged legs and. You massage the bandaged area to feel nothing out of the ordinary so you begin to slowly uncover the wrappings. Once done you see there's no wounds on you, you theorize it must have been magic.

During your self check, you hear the sound of the metal door being unhatched and voices behind it. "He's in here?" That's Sarge's voice. The door opens and you see that he's surprised when he sees you're up. "Jesus! They said you'd still be down after that fight." His expression goes back to his neutral face and behind him you see Houshou but she doesn't enter, instead she closes the door when Sarge goes in.

"Guess they're wrong." You check the time, you've been out just shy of 2 hours, that is short in terms of recovery. "What's the news Sergeant?"

He walks over and takes a seat on an empty chair near your bed. "Well there was clean up, questioning and other shit." He takes his helmet off and places it on his lap. "From what I got, they were Fascists. We found those red armbands with SS and swastikas on some of them, their weapons were dead giveaways really, Lugers, Walthers, you saw."

"I did."

"Now from witnesses I manage to ask, I can get the gist of this event. From what Houshou and the Akagi's 1st officer had to say, Nazis intruders, you stopped them, they died. Missing anything?"

Going through what you remember, you shake your head. "Sounds about right."

He sighs and rubs his eyes with his right hand. "You know this shits classified now right?"

"Yeah yeah, silence on the Nazis and their things when it happens. The civilians populace doesn't need to know that people are still fighting each other while monsters terrorize humanity. Gag order, morale, all the junk, got it. Anything else?"

"Yeah. While I was coming over, I saw our Captain and Major Sakamoto talking to one another, very loudly. Somethings up but I only got bits."

"So tell me."

Kerry leans forward and whispers. "Seems that the Major wants you to transfer or something like that to Europe. You can imagine that the Captain isn't happy about it."

"Understandable since he wouldn't let me transfer back to the 101. But why me?"

He just shrugs as he leans back and gets up. "No idea. Now that you're up we should get going. We shouldn't over stay our welcome."

He offers his hand and you take it. As you follow him out of the medical room, you look down and check your clothes. "Weird that I'm still geared. Also I need new pants." The only thing that you're missing is your Thompson.

"Later."

Out in the hallway you see Houshou and she bows when she sees you. That reminds you of something you've been wondering about. "Oh Miss Houshou?"

"Yes?" You observe that she isn't smiling.

"Do you know who shot those arrows?" Her face visibly pales a bit and that she's avoiding your gaze. When she doesn't reply you get the feeling that she did it. "Well whoever that person was helped me out and that I really appreciate that someone. Also thanks for helping me when I passed out."

You move away from her and follow the Sarge upward. You don't hear Houshou's footsteps till some time has passed. You find yourself back on the deck after some climbing to see your Captain glaring at Mio.

Their attention focuses on you once you step out. Captain Robert 'Brick' McCloud comes forth and slaps your shoulder. "Ah there's the my soldier. Right as rain even after fighting monsters and people. Specialist Browning I'll have you know that even after all the red tape you're going to get a promotion. Count on that." You just nod and fake a mild smile for him. His attention diverts to Kerry. "Sergeant, good work. You can do your report when we return to base, I just need to handle some business and we can go back."

"Roger that Sir. Major. Lieutenant." Kerry goes away while the Captain prevents you from going by holding your left shoulder.

"John, after speaking with Major Sakamoto, she wishes you to continue escort as the Akagi goes to Europe. Now I believe that's ludicrous just to have an MP on board their ship with no oversight." You detect a hint of annoyance from his voice.

"That's not true. Specialist Browning has enough integrity to do his job and more. I believe that his talents should be used to his fullest but since you refuse my first offer to have him transfer into the 501st Joint Fighter Wing as an MP, I ask that he be an escort. He can act as a liaison when we go to England, there aren't many on this ship that's good with English." She folds the arms in front of herself and frowns.

You see that the two are scowling at one another. Something hit them off poorly, time to do something about it.

[X] Accept the 2nd offer, speech challenge 65, charisma+speech+1d100.
Success

"Captain, Major. Permission to speak." The Captain and Mio stop glaring at one another to stare at you before nodding in unison. Looking at the Sakamoto you ask. "Major can you clarify about what you mean by liaison?"

She relaxes her body a bit and her familiar smile comes back. "Of course. More specifically I wish you to educate the girls in English. It's mostly for the younger girls but i'm sure that everyone could use the help. The job is only temporary till we reach England so you'd be with us for a short time."

"I understand." Turning your attention to the Captain. "Sir, I request that I temporary join up on the Akagi as an escort." McCloud opens his mouth but you interrupt him. "Let me state why Sir. Our motto is 'Of the Troops, for the Troops'. Which is why I believe in assisting others especially when allies ask for it. Furthermore I'd be gone for a short time maybe 2 weeks, at most three. I know the company can handle things without me. That and -" you move closer and whisper "It'd make America look good. What is your answer Sir, can I go?"

You see your Superior shift his balance from one leg to another, look away from you, scratch his head, and ponders about his answer. Eventually he gives his permission. "Very well. Sergeant John Browning, you are ordered to act as an American trainer on the Akagi's trip to England. I expect nothing but the best from you. Once the paper work is done, your momentary CO will be Major Sakamoto." He looks over to her with a frown. "If he doesn't come back I'm holding you responsible Major."

"I can accept that. I'll be sure to make sure he returns." As the Captain makes his way out Mio comes over to whisper something. "Thanks."

"Let's go Sergeant. You'll need to get your new chevrons and supplies for the trip back at camp." You flash Mio a grin and follow the CO out to where some vehicles are parked. "Browning I have to stay here to do some work. So go ahead and head back to camp, get your stuff then come back. I'll have your papers and new rank ready when you come back. Oh and be careful, can't have you get hurt after that speech. Promise me that you'll be back soon."

[] Yes Sir

He goes off somewhere and once you realize it, you don't have a ride. You survey the area to try and find any familiar faces but there aren't any.

"Um um, 'xcuse me?" Behind you there's a short bald man wearing a peculiar set of glasses and a uniform too big for his body. "I overheard-d-d-d that you-o might be going to En-en-gland. Oooohhh don't be be suspicious, i'm a good ol' American just l-like you. Pardon my speech just a t-tad nervous." He takes out a big pill and swallows it, well tries to since he appears to have trouble with its size. You choose to handover you canteen to him and he graciously accepts. "Thank you my good man." He coughs a bit after drinking but you manage to see that he has a unique earpiece connecting to something in his clothes.

In your brain it clicks that he's in a certain department. "You're OSS?" You whisper.

He immediately goes "SSSSSHHHHHHH! Ahem, I cannot confirm or deny that. What I can say is that I am asking for your help."

You wave him off. "Wait before any of that, can you get me a ride? I need to get back to camp."

"Oh why yes. Got a Dodge ready. We can drive and chat."

---------

---------

"So Doc, you want me to deliver a letter, that can be mailed to the place, while in the U.K. Why do you need me then?" You ask over the engines of other cars on the road back to base.

"Well I'll be honest. It's not that we don't like Nips, Jerry's or our good allies from other places. It's just that this is classified information that should be trusted with people that are loyal and smart. Like you."

"What's this letter anyway?" You open the delivery letter you stole off of the 'OSS' man. The letter is mostly made up of numbers and symbols, likely some secret code business.

He takes a peek and goes from his mouth opening in shock to a baffle laughter. "Oh you are just, you. Shame that I can't recruit you right now. Resourcefulness like that is what American needs against her enemies. I can't actually say but a smart guy like you can solve it in a cinch."

"I'm not going to say that I know what this is so I'll be quiet. Frankly what's in it for me if I deliver this." You close the letter and put it back in its envelope.

"Oh interestingly enough the company that I work for knows about you and your special special, and wish to work with you. If you happen to extend your trip, they'd be willing to give limited information and supplies to you. The big bosses have wanted to for some time but..."

"I've haven't been out in the spotlight huh."

"Well that and you're in a different branch. Well looks like we're here." The screech of the brakes can be heard as the truck comes to a stop in front the the main building. "So what do you say friend. Friends in high places is nice right?"

"If I do complete this little request, can I ask for something in return?" You say as you exit the vehicle.

"As long as it's not illegal or classified I believe I can pull a few strings. That said, you'd be an associate to our business. So if you're okay in being, uh, a stock owner then we can trade." He cheerfully says while you walk over to the driver's side.

"Well I have no reason to decline doing a simple task and right now I have nothing to ask for. You don't mind putting if I can ask for future favors right?"

Shaking his head. "Not at all. So you'll do it?" In reply you extend a hand in which he shakes.

"Yeah. Shouldn't be a problem. Oh mind staying here? I need to get some things and a ride back would be nice."

"Sure friend. I just need to make some calls. I'll be here." You go into the parking lot to find your jeep and head off to your quarters.

---

---

You take longer than expected, roughly an hour plus to get everything in order, Jeep's keys left in the office, check your footlocker, check your gear, resupply ammo and pants, get several service and dress uniforms, grab some books, take your photo of 2nd platoon, chat with the quartermaster then yell at his assistant for being an idiot, mundane actions.

Well to be fair, most of the time was you modifying and disassembling you new armaments, the B.A.R (Colt Monitor R 80) and the Auto-5. After you're done with them you're sure that they're combat ready with improved sights, springs, whatnot. As a self side note, why the fuck is the A2 model of the B.A.R fucking heavier than the original, fucking Army R&D.

Once you're satisfied you gather everything and leave the base. Shame you didn't see your squad around but you don't have the time to waste. The drive back you chat about random stuff with the scientist who forgot his fake name. The travel time is shorter thanks to fewer cars on the road.

By the time you reach the Akagi it's late, judging from the sun's position to the west. Just before you leave the truck the Doc gives you a card and a pouch of pills, saying that they should come in handy. You shake his hand once more and get out with your stuff in tow. While walking to the boarding platform, you search for the Captain but you're unable to find him.

Instead you see Miho holding onto something small. As you go closer you whistle to get her attention. She turns and you get a glimpse of her cringing face before it changes to relief. "Mr. Browning it's good to see you back up. But why are you here?"

You place your locker down as you talk. "I was about to ask you the same."

"Ah well some things happened and I got volunteered. I'm suppose to wait for someone and give them these." She holds up an envelope and chevrons. "Major Sakamoto said that we're getting a American trainer."

"I see. Mind if I look?" You gesture at what she's holding and she nods in reply. You open the holder and find papers addressed to you.

"Mr. Browning?" Her voice a bit worried.

"Call me Brown or John if you get tired of saying my last name. It can be a mouthful." The papers are in several languages, English, Japanese, French and German. They sure didn't skimp out a thing.

"Ah hai. So Mr. Brown are you okay? I heard about what happened and..."

"Well you see me right? I don't have any holes in me right?" You fold the orders and check yourself.

"You look fine." You return a thumbs up and place the envelope in a pocket and take the chevron from her. "Eh?" She has a confused face as you place your new insignia in a pocket and lug you footlocker. "Could you be..."

"Let's go Miss Nishizumi." You pat her shoulder with your free hand and move to board the ship. "Oh do we have a meeting spot? I should talk to the Major about my quarters."

"Wait wait. You're coming with us?" In response you tap your locker twice. You can't see behind you but you hear Miho start hurrying up the steps. "Uh we're suppose to go to the cafeteria. Everyone's staying there."

When you're on the Akagi you move aside for Miho. "Got it. Lead the way." She takes the front and you follow her through the ship. You two talk a bit of the Akagi till you reach your destination. Inside you see most of the girls are sitting together and talking to each other, only Houshou and Mio aren't here. The cafe itself is frankly, really small, smaller than what you'd expect unless it was specifically made for... oh girl's section.

While you walk in you notice the German ships at sitting away from the others, actually they're at your right. You can't get a read on them as they have their heads down. Regardless, you put your locker down on the left wall. It makes a loud metal clang when it makes contact which causes everyone to look up at you.

The expressions you observe are shock, happy, neutral then changing to confusion. In the act of taking your helmet off, you get a peek of the Germans staring at you, just staring.

Ignoring them you place your headgear on your trunk and move forward to confess something to the girls. "Yes I am fine. Yes I am going suppose to be on this ship. Yes I am a male." You view the finger pointing, mouths opening and closing, then smiles. You just grin till you hear the sound of a chair being move behind you.

Turning you see the tall blonde come up, her head down. "Um, American. You were there during the... I uh..."

Seems like she want to apologize for what happened before.

2[X] Renegade speech. Make her speak directly to your face. Tell her that she isn't responsible unless she's a Fascist herself and reasonably scold her inability to act.

"I don't think we've met before." You hold your hand out in front of her. "Sergeant Browning, Military Police Corps." She stares at your hand, then your face, then your hand again in bewilderment. She covers her face with her cap for a moment until she raises her head with a fake smile. At least she's trying.

Her grip however makes up for whatever weakness she hides, nearly crushing your hand. "I am the German battleship Bismarck. I'll be working with you for a time." No mention of the Wehrmacht or the Kriegsmarine, odd or something else is going on.

"Likewise." You both let go and there's a instant awkwardness when neither of you speak. You find your solution when you peer over her shoulder. "Is that your sister or friend behind you?"

From behind Bismarck, her friend goes up and hugs her right arm affectionately. She waves and smiles at you during her earnest intro. "Hi~ I'm the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen, Admiral Hipper class, number 3. Bismarck's little sister, nice to meet you." Eugen...translates to Eugene right? Oh that reminds me of Doc Roe, his first name was Eugene. Girl named Eugene, ah thinking too much.

"Yeah same here. Have you two met the others?" You motion your head at the others.

"Oh that reminds me sister. We haven't spoken with the others yet. Let's go." Without wait for a response Eugen pulls Bismarck to where the rest of the girls are sitting at and begins chatting with them. You don't even need to mediate as they all eventually talk about anything but what happened earlier. Food, cannons, Japan, America, ships, family, stuff like that.

You silently excuse yourself when it's apparent that you're not needed. You go sit alone at a corner to start correcting your uniform. Taking off your outer jacket, you discern that some eyes were on you till they saw your undershirt, you swear you heard some sighing. You get your tools and work quickly up to when Tenryuu comes and sit across from you.

You nod to her to let her know that you're aware of her and continue to sew in silence until she speaks out. "You... I don't know if I should be saying something good or bad about what you did."

"There's the option of saying good work you idiot." Your retort gets you a smirk as a reply. "If you're telling me that I did good, then I would say I was doing my job. If you're saying I made a mistake, then I would correct you by saying i'm infantry. You start talking about if situations, I'd say they're relevant when it happens and I'd make my choices right then. So what do you want to say?"

She just grins as lean back and folds her arms in front of her. "I was going to lecture you but then I thought I didn't need to. You know your stuff and know what your limits, is what I get from you. Well anyway, congrats on your promotion and it seems that we'll be together for a bit longer."

"Sounds like a plan." You say as you do the finishing touches. You internally thank but mostly curse Sobel's training and bullshit like not getting on thing right or do something fast enough. You put your jacket back on and ask. "So what's the deal with the Germans? I mean not why they're here but before."

Tenryuu leans closer and whispers to your ear. "The battleship's been quiet even since she came aboard, she simply did a bow and just sat down. The other ones been more of less trying to get her to respond but eventually gave up. The kids did their best to not be annoying but being quiet isn't their strong suit. But that's no longer an issue."

You gaze over the loud girls, all smiles and laughing. "They were bothered, huh. All of them. About you know." She doesn't reply but her smile is gone from her face. The two of you remain silent and listen to the chatter for a while.

When you hear footsteps on the metal floor, you check behind you for a time until Houshou, Mio, a formally dressed officer and some guards come into view. Instinctively you, Tenryuu and Tatsuta stand at attention. The rest of the girls stare at you taken aback but when they see their seniors up they do the same.

The older gentleman chuckles a bit from the corner of your eye and walks in. He says something in Japanese and the girls relax their stance.

"Browning, Bismarck and Prinz Eugen. The Captain of the Akagi wishes to speak with you." Sakamoto announces to the room. The three of you line up in front of the Captain and Mio, waiting.

"Let me first say, welcome to the Akagi." You understand his rough accented English and get a better look at him, tan, coarse face, no doubt a veteran of the sea. "I am Captain Junzaburo. I hope that your stay will be safe as can be during our cruise to Europe. We will be leaving shortly." He the specifically turns to you. "Mr. Browning correct?"

You immediately salute him. "Sergeant Browning, Sir."

He returns your salute and continues. "I have heard about your achievements. Your officer was talking about you when we spoke, he spoke very highly of you. Then when the Akagi was attacked, my men told me about your bravery. I am deeply thankful."

"I was doing my job. Nothing more, Sir." You respond instantly which surprises him briefly.

"I see. Well do enjoy your stay everyone." He nods and leaves with his escort, leaving Houshou and Mio here.

Well with that done, what do you want to do. In order 1, 2, 3, etc.

Just as you sigh there's a vibration through out the ship. You look over to Houshou and ask."Are we moving?"

Houshou moves closer and calmly speaks. "That's right. The Captain decided to leave since we finish resupplying earlier than expected even after the 'accident'." She then looks to the girls and addresses them. "Ladies, the standby has been lifted so you're free to go. If you want to go up now's the time." There's cheering from behind and the girls start walking out. As you move aside, most of them pause to give you a bow or nod and move on. When it's over, you, Houshou, the Major, Germans, and Yoshika are left in the mess hall.

"So I guess I'll go topside." You absently say to no one. Before you even move you feel a twist in your stomach bitching about being empty. "Oh, um, Houshou, is there any food that I can eat?"

"At this time no but I'll make something. Could you wait though, I need to show them to their rooms." She indicates the Germans with her eyes.

"Yeah that's fine. I'll be up." As you take a step you're stopped by Mio's hand on your chest.

"Do you know your way out?" She forms a grin when you shake your head vehemently. "Follow me. Miyafuji you coming?"

"Yes!" Yoshika latches to your right arm as you leave. Mio turns around says something to Houshou that you don't understand but you're still moving so it's fine, positively.

After steps and steps upward, you find yourself on the bridge with the Captain and several others. The Captain looks over and nods at you before giving commands in Japanese. You keep following Sakamoto outside to the bridge's balcony where you see that there's people cheering from the shorelines and the base.

You see that the restraints are being removed and the ship is slowly drifting in the water. Before long the ship starts following the river to the exit with cheers coming from everyone. Looking below you see sailors and the the other girls waving at the Americans. You take a look with your binocs to read some of the messages.

"Peace on Earth. Thank You. Go Get Them. Go Japan. Good Luck. Happy New Year."

"That's nice." You hear Yoshika say so you glance over to see Sakamoto and Yoshika waving back. "It like when we left back home. Right Sakamoto?"

"Yeah, almost." Mio stops waving and leans on the railing. "Sergeant?"

"Here." You reply and see Mio turns her head to you.

"Thank you for accepting..." You hold a hand up to stop her from continuing.

"Thank you. You got me out of my unit and a way to Europe. If anything, I'll thank you for what you did. Also you Miyafuji, you helped me right? Thanks." Mio's face is confounded for a time by your answer. Ultimately she goes back to a smile as she remains quiet. Miyafuji however is full of concern.

"Why? Why do you want to go?" As you open your mouth to respond, you hear the door behind you open. Peeking out is Housho and Fubuki carrying something in a cloth bags.

Why does one fight. Why do you fight.(Neutral Answers will not be used, if no answers then I'll write some later.)

"Um, Hi." Fubuki weakly waves, her voice uncertain. "We have some, um, onigiri." She unclothes her bag to reveal some rice wrapped in seaweed.

Unable to wait you pick one and bite it in half. Judging by the her reaction she's surprised and freezes in place while Houshou is gently smiling and goes to pass hers out to Yoshika and Mio. You quickly finish it you grab another, then another when that one disappears into your stomach. But it still wasn't enough so you stuff about four more before being satisfied.

You top it off with water from your flask, declaring. "I'm happy now." Fubuki blushes madly and tries to make some words come out of her mouth. Failing to do so she just decides to nibble on a rice ball. Looking to your flank, the others are enjoying their meal and the scenery.

To Be Continued...

Chapter 4.5
The five of you stay on the balcony for a time, watching the land slowly disappear beyond the horizon. Replacing the ground, are warships that form a defensive area around the carrier. The ship is quiet as the everyone goes to work or scatter off. Your group is silent for awhile so you decide to talk.

"Lieutenant, Major. I have some questions regarding my stay." You wait for a reply but neither one comments and just stare at you. "Tomorrow, do any of you know if I'm schedule to do anything?"

The two look at one another perplexed just before Mio starts laughing. "HA HA HA! That's great. Amazing really." You see her wipe her free eye while she smiles. "We decided to let you rest tomorrow because of the accident but here you are. Impressive."

"In all fairness, I guess I understand that not many people get blown up and walk it off with a heal a short time later. I was asking since that's what I'm use to, always working or doing something. Even my reassignment to the MPs had me do stuff." Which was stacking dead bodies onto trucks but they don't need to know that.

Mio takes a deep breathe and answers back. "Yes, yes. I understand. How about doing a class after lunch tomorrow? Other than that you're free to do what you want. Sounds good?"

"Sounds like a plan. And where will I be staying?" Sakamoto then nods over to Houshou to answer but she then goes over and whispers something to Mio. They go back and forth till Houshou comes over.

"We don't have a room prepared for you." She say in an apologetic tone. You hold your tongue and motion her to continue. "Well most of the cabins that were free were converted into storage, that number didn't include space for female section on the ship or for newcomers. So there was only one livable room for the women's part and that's taken by Bismarck and Prinz Eugen. I'm very sorry."

You quickly stop Houshou from bowing by placing your right hand to her shoulder. "That's okay. Changing conditions happen everywhere at anytime so there's no need to apologize."

She shakes her head in return. "It's bad manner to not be a decent host. You are here helping us, after all that's happened. It is disrespectful not to at accommodate after your actions today."

"Okay, okay." You take a breather and think. "Right now we need a solution. What about me sharing a room with someone?"

Mio hums and folds her arms, thinking out loud. "You could go in the men's quarters but none of them speak English except a few officers. They'd have to agree on it though since it's their room. The other option would be one of us could share a room but who would accept..."

"I can share!" Fubuki and Yoshika respond while raising their hands.

"True, Miyafuji you have a free bed but Fubuki you're already sharing with Mutsuki and Yuudachi." Houshou states the facts out.

"There's also us Houshou. We do have extra room." Mio retorts back to Houshou. They remain quiet as they reflect their options.

"Major, Could I bunk with you?" Their eyes are on you immediately, making you a bit uncomfortable. You endure the stares until Mio speaks.

"Hm, I don't have an issue. Alright it's been decided, you'll stay with me." She then comes over and shakes your hand. "Let's get along Sergeant."

"Of course." Just as your hands let go there's the sound of a thud from below. Looking over the edge you see Tenryuu on the ground with the school kids on top of her. Using your binoculars you see that they're massaging her for whatever reason. You scan around to see Takebe is making gestures and Tatsuta is giggling at the scene. Well, not my problem.

You back from the railing and look behind you to see a sailor come over. Houshou exchange some words before he hands you a piece of paper. You thank him as he leaves and open it to see it is the map of the Akagi.

"In case you get lost and can't find us." Sakamoto says and pushes you inside. "Now it's time for the tour."

Chapter 4.6
[X] I am a soldier. Yes I was conscripted but I chose where I went to and why. My family's been fighting for this country as Marines, Sailors, guys at the rear, heck our family even makes weapons for the armed forces, for both offenses and defenses purposes. As one of many in my family, in the army, I have a job to do and I'll stick with it. My dad once said "Don't be afraid to do good but know that that doesn't mean everything will be fine." So even if I'm afraid to fight or worried about others I'll still keep moving, keep advancing, to win. Then I'll go home and do some farming or something.
---
As you're laying on your stomach you try to evaluate what transpired before hand. You were walking to the hanger as the tour was ending then stopped yourself when you saw that you were going collide with the little ships. Yet Fubuki wasn't on the uptake and accidentally bumped into you from behind and you fell. Sounds about right.

"Good Job Fubuki!" You think that voice is Ikazuchi. You can't see behind you but you hear the footsteps coming closer.

"EH!? I DIDN'T? EH?" Fubuki cries out and you swear you hear her waving her arms about.

"Now it's time. Ready?" What's she talking about?

"Yes, nanodesu!" That's Inazuma.

"Hmh, a lady should always be ready." Akatsuki .

"Da." Russian? Hibiki? Before you know it, you feel 4 little hands are rubbing your head. ?Por que? Weird but comforting.

Distantly to your right you hear Tenryuu say something. "Why did I get the massage and he gets the pats?"

"Ara, jealous?" You hear the tone of teasing in Tatsuta voice.

"*Cough* NO!" You find it difficult to try and get a glimpse to your right since you didn't want to disturb the girls.

"Oh could it be that you're unhappy that you're not joining the fun?" You note that Tenryuu lets out a huff and remains quiet to avoid answering her sister. "You know, he could be listening, seems like he's the attentive type."

"Baka. Don't kid like that." You hear the sound of metal being stepped on until a extremely loud clang rings out.

"What are you doing to our esteemed guest, G-I-R-L-S?" There's a faint spitefulness in Houshou words that swiftly ended the patting. With your head free, you look around to see the 4 sister quivering next to a pillar and the two Tenryuu cruisers hold their place. "Well?"

"It was Ikazuchi's fault." Akatuski answers while pointing at her sister. "She wanted to do unladylike things to him."

"HUH? You said that it's a lady's duty to properly thank a knight!" Ikazuchi angrily glares at Akatuski.

'Wah, Wah don't fight." Inazuma sobs between the two. Hibiki keeps quiet, Smart move.

"Silence!" Houshou's shout ceases any more comebacks.

At the same time you see the other ships girls come into view. "Poi? Why are you on the ground Poi?" Houshou sighs as one issue after another piles on her.

You get back up and dust yourself off before replying. "I fell." You hearing some running steps and see NIshizumi and her crew come over.

"We heard a bang. Is there a problem?" You shake your head at Miho's question and again when others asked it.

"I fell down, nothing big. I'm okay." This is a cluster fuck.

"Really?" Goes too many to count.

Gotta think fast.
