We could talk to everyone and research Scyther, not research any other Pokemon and have a couple spare days, or research a different Pokemon and be antisocial. I'm not actually sure what we want to do as a group! Luckily there are some universal things to do first.

1.9 - Research: The Safari Zone
Despite being an S-Class Danger Zone, the Safari Zone isn't exactly an Amatsun Ruin.

During the advent of Trainers, when Pokémon were slowly exterminated, most of the more dangerous species were pushed back to their respective originating Ruins.

As a result, humanity was able to regain its foothold, and the continent eventually attained a state of relative peace and safety. Some Pokémon, however, were too strong to exterminate, and the area where they naturally congregated was eventually dubbed the Safari Zone.

Located along the north of Cape Dianthus and about 20km north of Fuchsia City itself, the Safari Zone is a region of jungles and mountains, including a section of the Vermillion Sea, that has been gradually expanding with the rise of its Pokémon population.

This gradual expansion is why the Safari Zone is regarded as the current primary threat to the uneasy balance that has been achieved over the past five decades.

Its sheer size means that the Safari Zone is home to a wealth of many different Pokémon, and as such there is currently no exhaustive list of native Pokémon. The natural habitat of troublesome species such as Dragonite, Gyarados, and Nidoking, it is also notably home to species that has yet to be found anywhere else, such as Chansey, Scyther, Pinsir, Tauros, and Kangaskhan.

With that said, it should be noted that even counterparts of the same species that can be found outside are typically stronger, and care must be taken as many of the Pokémon in the Safari Zone are highly dangerous, territorial, and aggressive.

And now that you're friends with Leaf, looks like you're all going on Safari, so you should really talk about details like which geography to study, and how all three of you might work best together in the field.

Which geography to study would be nice. Maybe he can tell us the basics of that area himself? Gimme all the shortcuts.

If we could find a dratini nest then we could have a breeding pair of future Dragonites...for ourselves...and our nation to be sure.

Only one pokeball, and we'd have to arrange an entire expedition to get the second. Given the description of every pokemon in the Safari Zone being stronger and more aggressive, I'm more inclined than ever to stick to Oddish. Even if we end up sticking with Oddish, though, it's still a good idea to research the more dangerous pokemon in the Safari Zone so we can better know how to deal with them. Researching our partners' intended catches will go a long way towards that, since we're definitely going to be encountering them.

Not sure what to go for right now. We should really talk to Silver sooner rather than later, though (even if I'm kinda leery of it turning into a confrontation), and Wysteria's vote looks like a good way to approach it. That said, considering Kotone's personality thus far, wording it that way might make it come out way too blunt and confrontation-y. Dio's vote is pretty passive-aggressive, but... fitting. I'm a bit torn on whether to do his or try to tweak Wysteria's a bit... hm...

Eh, I'll go with Dio's vote. I'll leave the tweaked one below if anyone's interested in it, though.

Another thing, this Safari zone doesn't seem to have a restriction on your Pokemon or pokeballs. Breeding pair of Dratini after we have a kick ass team.

It is for the distant future anyway. Like when we have around four pokemon and one second evolution. For now let's get our Oddish line pokeom and get out of there.

Such passive-aggression hahahahaha.

-- The Faculty
The faculty of Tohjo Military Academy currently consists of 6 members, all of whom have reached the rank of General in the Counter-Pokémon Division, and are typically referred to by the title of Professor or General.

Surprisingly, most of them are pretty laid back in person, but no one's stupid enough to think that means leniency. When it comes to things involving Pokémon, every single member of the faculty is deadly serious, and can be very strict.

Samuel Oak, Chancellor

A military hero and the foremost authority in all things Pokémon, he rarely gets directly involved with the cadets unless he has to, preferring to focus on his research. He also sometimes has to leave the campus to deal with Pokémon emergencies.

Every time you've met him, you've felt a sense of immense, stifling pressure by just being in the same room with the man, and you admit he intimidates you greatly.

Robert Elm, Vice-Chancellor

The man who's in charge of recruitment, he strikes you as friendly and amiable.

Honestly, if you haven't seen the photos, you wouldn't be able to imagine the man in armour and with a gun in his hand. As far as you know, he's in charge of all administrative issues.

Wilhelm Blaustein, Engineering

A cheerful and casual young man, he's better known as Bill, and is the youngest of the faculty who's still in his 30s.

Actually, he kind of reminds you of Silver in some ways... Except that he doesn't really like to waste his words. He's friendly enough, though. He teaches Marksmanship, Drugs, Traps, and Tools.

Philena Ivy, Ecology

Always seemingly absentminded and a little bit distant, you've never seen her angry, but if the rumour are true... you really don't want to.

She teaches Survival, Navigation, and First-Aid.

Lynnette Joy, Zoology

She's likely the most patient woman that you know. She always speaks in a kind, gentle tone.

She teaches most of the Pokémon-related classes, such as Pokémon Anatomy and Pokémon Behaviour.

Pierre Sigebert, Archeology

A new member of the faculty. You've never met him in person, only from a distance, since he doesn't actually teach any classes yet. The Archaeology department is brand new, after all. Word is he's preparing a new syllabus that will be rolled out next year.

Now that you mention it, he looks like he's around the same age as Bill... But somehow, he's just got this mysterious aura about him.

Nine days left
[ ] Study Gary's Notes (4 Days)
→ [ ] Safari Zone ???? (Safari Entrance) (in-depth)
→ [ ] Scyther (preliminary)
→ [ ] Kangaskhan (preliminary)
→ [ ] Nidoran (preliminary)
[ ] Do in depth research on a Pokémon. (2 Days)
→ [ ] Scyther
[ ] Talk to Silver and Leaf at the same time. (1 Day)
→ [ ] Tactics and planning

That leaves two days to train or Gary depending on if we go all in on Scyther and if QM let's us do a group chat.

Edit: Those two days should probably be spent on professors but Blaustein is probably essential.

I think the professor information drop is a hint we might want to talk to some of them once our plans firms up.

And Kotone doesn't have a good excuse to talk to Gary anymore, she already has his notes. I'm struggling to see the IC justification to not wimp out there.

yes you can talk to multiple people at the same time.

you don't really need to research a PKMN you're not targeting -- your teammates will probably fill you in as necessary as long as you stick together.

indepth on Gary's notes only costs 1 day.

I do want to firm up our plans, just because I don't like wasting time. Is there is a Pokemon we want more than Oddish? I am pro-Oddish/Gloom.

If we skip research on Nidoran and Kangaskhan that does free up time.

Agreed on wimping out of talking to Gary, sadly.

Bill is looking like our best bet here, with Ivy a close second. Joy... only if we were going for a pokemon with obscure behavior or anatomy, probably?

I'm thinking we should definitely meet up with Silver on his own; Leaf probably already told him, but I don't think it's fair for him to only hear it from us at a meeting between all three of us (if he doesn't do an interrupt and come to us on his own).

From there, we should do in-depth research on a Safari area, then preliminary research on Kangaskhan and Nidoran so we can support our partners in tactics better. Then, I think we should talk to Bill or Ivy (preferably both, though we could potentially afford to leave out Ivy depending on the skills of our partners). Only after that we should meet up with both Leaf and Silver to solidify our plans, since by then we should have a really solid idea of what we can and should be doing, and no extra info will come in to disrupt it.

[ ] Talk to Professor Ivy. (1 Day)
[ ] Talk to Silver and Leaf at the same time. (1 Day)
→ [ ] Tactics and planning

That's six to seven days in total, so we've got two to three to futz about somewhere along the way. I'm willing to do in-depth research on Scyther with that plan, though I'm pretty much entirely for Oddish at this point, so inclined to research the most dangerous pokemon in the area we're going to instead-- if nothing else pops up to disrupt things, at least. A little wiggle room for the unforeseen is always a good thing.

We have two days left over and that's including Scyther research. All the time in the world guys. Gary's notes are a lifesaver. Does anyone not want to research Scyther with Gary's cheat research already done?

Edit: Added Ivy

@Shin I won't vote for Scyther research, but I won't be super upset by it either? It is time efficient, even if I don't want one.

We're gonna be so tight as a team, yo!

So, Scyther. It is a nice sharp ninja Pokemon and we have a speed boost on researching it. I can't think of obvious noncombat uses. I do think it's attractive and strong. Opinions, folks?
Obviously Scyther's razor sharp claws can help trim tall grass!

It could cut trees. I'm picturing Scyther in plaid.

Alright, lumberjack Scyther might be swaying me a bit, and I won't mind if the vote heads in that direction.

Still think we're better off sticking with a less dangerous pokemon, though.

We're already going into danger, Kangaskhan is scary. And the whole area might kill us. It's gonna be fun
