17 Ascending Fire, Realm Year 629
Not According to Plan
"Who's idea was it to boobytrap the Redoubt first!" You can't help but complain during a moment's interlude--the spellfire and arrows splashing off against the structure you and Neiya ducked behind, as your Spymaster looked up, and fired a few arrows into the sky, a few screams suggesting correct hits.
"Mine!" She chirps back as you shift in place, vaulting over the wall after a particularly heavy burst, and hurling Skyfang across the landscape--landing in it's target with a violent thud, before detonating into several explosive bursts of light, chaining across the remainder of the Huntsmen, as your blade leaps back to your hand. "Of course, didn't quite think they already had maps, that was somethin' of an oversight on my part"
"True enough, the archivists don't have any reports of theft though, and the security wards remain undisturbed" You settle down, and extend your senses to the terrain around you... Empty. Neiya managed to catch their sendings before they could reach, but several broke off and scattered when you ran into each other. You didn't like the chances of them reporting back.
This was a... You couldn't even fairly say it was a blunder, the Hunt should not have been here yet, and instead, you simply ran face-first into each other at about the same time. It wasn't an ambush, they were just exactly where they needed to be at the exact moment you were going to be there. You had heard of good luck, but this was just ridiculous.
"Not so ridiculous"
Starfang flashed outwards, and was caught between the tips of a young woman's fingers.
"Calm yourself Lord Karamat, I am not your enemy"
"Friends don't normally sneak up on each other like that" You retort, even as Neiya starts to raise her hand to object. "Yes Neiya, that's different."
"Quite so, but one in my position can rarely afford to walk in the open" She agrees, stepping back to give you some distance, and bows in the style of the Threshold. "I was waiting for you to leave the Kingdom to make contact with you--as a token of apology for the inconvienence..." She looks to her right, and slowly raises her arm that way--flicking...

Three bodies, the unaccounted for Shikari of this party.
"I have additionally taken the liberty of intercepting their messages, as far as their superiors are concerned, they simply had the bad luck to run afoul of Reaver stragglers." She continues, even as you attempt to process what had just happened. "I ask for merely a few moments of your time. Rest assured that I would not have indulged in such a threatening means of approach, but you will surely understand the context when I'm finished."
You look to Neiya, who shrugs--in the same gesture, signalling that she sensed no hostile intentions from this woman. You turn back to her and lower Starfang. "Speak then"
She smiles. "My thanks--to cut to the chase, your court is compromised."
Neiya actually does a double take on that bit. "Bwa? I did background checks on everyone who gets in on the inner circle! It's not that girl they put on, is it? I can have her replaced in no-time flat if I have to!"
"No, your enemy is not so blunt" The woman shakes her head. "They have had your country penetrated since the early days of your reign--it's only now that they have begun to act. The presence of the Shikari here is proof of their involvement."
"A bold claim" You remark. "Do you have any further evidence of this? While I appreciate your assistance, I'm not quite ready to start a witchhunt in my own court on the word of a stranger."
"As of yet? No, I do not" She shakes her head. "But I know the one behind this scheme, and have a score to settle with them. I can find the evidence you need, given your permission to operate in this country, such will allow you to deal with the mole before they can strike more overtly."
It's... Honestly, a pretty shady offer--but what could you lose by granting her permission to operate here?
[ ] Accept the woman's offer, Intrigue Actions to identify the mole will unlock, possible risk of her not being your friend.
[ ] Refuse the offer, Status quo is maintained, no possible gains, no possible losses
Special Note: Woman's intervention has Halved the Wyld Hunt Suspicion from the failed action
