There Was An Idea: A Kevin Feige Quest

Spiderwoman quite literally has nothing to do with Spiderman beyond the fact that they both have spider powers. It's not the female version or whatever, it's someone with a completely different origin story, pretty different powers, and a completely different personality that exists at the same time as Spiderman. Besides that, this is for the SHIELD show. We can just call her Jessica Drew and not have to worry about any 'female Spiderman's stuff. Her character and backstory are the interesting parts, anyways.

So, Jessica Drew can be used in the S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show.

What do you think, one of the victims of the experiments, or an agent of HYDRA that turns against them?

Okay, so Coulson was revived using Kree blood, but why was he revived ? What was the reason to bring him back to life?

Anyways, what do you think of this ensemble for the show:

Veronica Hand: Leader of the team (takes a role similar to Coulson), she is a no nonsense kind of commander, but extremely effective in her operations. She will come first as extremely serious, not prone to making contacts, but overtime we see her bond with the rest of the group (Up until the reveal at least).

Bobbi Morse (Mockingbird): One of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s finest agents, with a long history of accomplishments. Clint Barton's ex-girlfriend, she takes the role that Melinda May would have taken. She is focused, driven, ready to do what's necessary for the mission, yet inside is still enough of an idealist as to hold dear to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s original purpose.

Jimmy Woo: A prodigy in the field, not so much with regulations. He has lead many teams in several missions, yet always using unorthodox methods. He is loyal and willing to do anything to protect his teammates, as he believes that sacrificing them for the greater good makes them no better than what they fight against.

Jemma Simmons: The scientist in the team. Same personality as in the TV show. Personally I don't see a reason to have her be with Fitz here, instead I would have her mention there was someone who she was always very competitive while in the academy, but she never got along with (We later reveal that Fitz was recruited by one of HYDRA's agents).

Grant Ward: The "rookie" of the team (Though he and Simmons would qualify). He is straight out of S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy, with the highest scores, and more than a little star struck to be on the team. Here I was thinking that he and Simmons could be friends who found themselves in the Academy, with Simmons helping him in the more science aspects of the curriculum, and Ward aiding her in the more physical parts.

Skye?: I'm not sure if we use her or another, utuntil we are given another argument for not including her I'm going to suppose that she will be there. She is mostly as she was in the show, but the different adventures will change her developement (Let's try to avoid the many times she turns against and comes back to S.H.I.E.L.D.).

What do you guys think?

We voted for Clint to be married with children. We had to cast his wife and everything and Feige mentioned Natasha hanging out with his family during the Black Widow movie posts.

And? Bobbi can still be his ex-wife.
That was the idea, Bobbi is Clint's ex-wife. They tried, but it didn't work out, there's no hard feelings between them.

Besides, we don't know how old he was when they married, or how old when they split.

If it clashes with the movies I can change it so that she is his Ex-Girlfriend instead.

So, tell me guys, what do you think? Any criticisms?

Yes, Charcolt even offered Bobbi as an option for the last Agents of Shield movie.

And I'm sure it was a famously short marriage, that's probably the point. There'll be a flashback to a hilarious train wreck of a break up.

And in the flashback they are both in full era-appropriate 80s fashion and style...

I wish. That's probably a bit too far back to make sense.

Ok, I did some light reading and seems that I forced to apologize. Spider-Woman is indeed a very interesting character and far more than just "female Spiderman". I do agree that for the show that if she makes an appearance should go by Jessica Drew. Honestly, as long as that condition is met, I have no issue with her inclusion. I just did not know this particular character at all. I mostly agree with you overmind, but must remind you that Clint and Bobbi are not ex-anything, but happily married, and I kind of like the idea of keeping them that way.

Could we tie-in the SHIELD show with the third Agents movie (which will probably star Hawkeye)? I think it would be a great away to show off how connected our MCU is and give the shows a greater presence in the MCU rather than just existing in a bubble.
Must've been a real short marriage given that Clint has multiple kids with his hypothetical second wife.
Yeah, is that a problem?

In our version of the MCU they are divorced, Clint remarried (Or at least that's the idea. Another wink and nod to the fans).

Definetely. I think they should be connected from season 2 onwards (If not season 1). he meetings alone between Clint and Bobbi would be hilarious to watch.

Yeah, is that a problem?

I just find it rather convoluted. Being divorced from Bobbi was an option that we didn't choose. Having Clint introduced as a married man only to introduce Bobbi as his ex-wife latter on would just seem like a blatant retcon to our audiences just done for the sake of being comic accurate.

Fan demands. Well, the in universe reason was Fury was being selfish or something, which even Coulson himself called him out of it IIRC

I'm not sure we're reviving him or not, it's up to the vote after all, but in case we do, I think there should be a severe repercussions for that.

What do you guys think?
I wanted to say that we should replace Ward with Drew, but that would make Jimmy a one lucky bastard due to him being the sole dude in the team.

Anyway would you like to hire more Arrowverse actors in this show? Danielle Panabaker as Simmons perhaps?

The Hawkeye movie and the Agents of Shield being connected seems like a no-brainer. Also, no, I'm pretty sure the winning vote for Hawkeye's situation was "Happily married with kids".

Regarding Bobbi Morse, it could be that she and Clint are married and leave their kids in the care of someone trustworthy while they're on duty, or they alternate on who is watching the kids and who is working.

Yeahhh. I didn't think about that. Okay, slight retcon, she instead is his ex-girlfriend. They dated before in the past, but eventually moved on.

That works any better?

I kinda prefer Elizabeth Henstridge for the part. Though Panabaker could be used for another role. Perhaps Jessica Drew?

I honestly don't see why this is such a hard concept to understand. While, yes, we did vote that he is happily married, he isn't married to Bobbi in our MCU. But nowhere in the voted option does it say he wasn't married before. So no, it wouldn't be a retcon to say that he was married before because nowhere was it previously mentioned in the thread that his current marriage was his only marriage. Not unless @Charcolt wants to weigh in and correct this assumption on my part.

And it should be noted that marriages can pretty much end any time, so literally we could say they were married for a few months, years before he even met Laura, and it wouldn't affect our current canon in anyway.
