OOC: Well, first of all, congrats to all of us on hitting 100 pages! What a milestone! I'm glad we made it this far together. Secondly, sorry I missed the Energy total for last post. I've been sick this weekend, unfortunately, so a lot of things have been slipping my mind. Let's just go ahead and get that out of the way...
6/12 Energy remaining.
You exert your influence out over Spider-man and focus on him making contact with the intent to harm Thunderball. You're hoping that's what he decides to do with this opportunity and not... well, literally anything else, because the boon won't last. You start to long for Quentin's telepathic link to better coordinate these offenses, or at least some level of greater teamwork, and that's when it hits you; the exact lesson Mr. Cage was trying to teach! It seemed a bit foolish at the time to deny one of the most powerful resources your team has, but if they keep up the division of students there's a good chance you won't have him by your fourth year of college, and who knows what happens if you decide to continue pursuing a medical degree beyond that, or if he decides to work with you after school. Especially with you, learning to predict and anticipate your teammates' critical thinking in combat would be an incredible boon toward making sure your powers aren't going to waste and are achieving their maximum potential.
"All right, big guy. You need a time out!" Spider-man uses the momentum of a swing on his web to drive a kick into Thunderball's temple, and the chain-swinging maniac literally goes down like a sack of wet earth. You're both a little stunned. Even Owlsley's panicked screaming from the car dies down. Spidey sticks to an opposite building and observes the situation from above for a moment, before finally hopping down. His eyes squint as he looks over Thunderball, then he stands back up with a relieved exhale. "Well, you're safe for now, Owlsley," he projects, taking just a second to catch eyes with you. You take the hint and call 9-1-1 on your work phone. "Cops should be on their way soon, and our new friend Thunnnnderball is out cold."
"How the fuck do you know my name!?" he panics.
"Psshhh," Spidey just rolles his eyes, which admittedly looks weird, "I'm Spider-man. I know a lotta stuff you don't think I should."
"Don't talk so big Peter Parker. I know ALL about you!"
That makes him freeze up for a second. When he returns to motion, instead of the relaxed and casual stance he usually has post-fight, he's ramrod-straight with his arms crossed over his chest. You can't see Owlsley's reaction. You can't see him at all, actually, and the only reason you can hear him is because he's shrieking. You wonder if anyone nearby caught him mentioning Spider-man's name. Your eyes pan over the street as you continue your hushed call to the NYPD, but it's pretty barren. People seem to have learned, once you hear super-hero stuff it's wiser to give them a wide berth than it is to try and rubberneck. A few dedicated fans might try to get footage, but between the bad angle and the unpredictability of that ball on the chain, you suppose they opted out. You feel relief escape your chest in an exhaled breath.
"Careful, Owlie," Spider-man's tone is neither friendly nor neighborhood, "right now Oscorp and I have a deal. Keep talkin' like that, and the deal might just be off the table." You hear metal rocking, and between that and Owlsley dropping his voice, you can't catch what he says, but you can hear Spider-man. You can see the klyntar practically roiling along his skin. "DON'T BE SO SMUG!" Your call to the police is finally through. You think you might've heard more wrenching metal with Spider-man's roar, but you can't be sure why. Your vantage point is awful. You can't hear Owlsley anymore. Is he still trying to rattle Peter? Or is he just silent for... other reasons?
How Do You React? (CHOOSE UP TO TWO)

[ ] Take your leave of a bad situation
[ ] Use Tilt the Scales to try and help Spider-man keep his cool
- This option is the result of a good Focus check to read Spidey's motives; 12 + 6 = 18! An Heroic success!
