You turn back to the plaza after eyeing up the red gate for a few seconds, and you manage to spot a few signs with inscribed words. The empty structures are apparently some kind of small shopping area, its empty stands showing the early hour of the day for most humans.
That is slightly disappointing; you'd hoped to acquire some form of a souvenir while you were here. Perhaps it will all be open once you come back?
Regardless, you turn to face the gate once more as you muse on your destination. Amaterasu? You know of her; she is a somewhat powerful Persona of the Priestess Arcana, and you have even summoned her a few times. You would have to check your Grimoire for more detailed information, unfortunately.
Dismissing the idea for now, you unhurriedly climb up the pristine marble steps of the entrance. You pass through the red gateway without issue, and are greeted with a single stone path leading deeper into the forest that surrounds it.
Your thoughts take a dark turn as you make your way through the path.
You know much about gods. You vividly remember the doomed battle where you were defeated and torn apart like a discarded plaything by that malevolent will. A false god who rose to power as a result of the wishes of the misguided masses.
Could a deity like Amaterasu perform the same feat, you morbidly wonder? If, theoretically, enough humans believed in the goddess' existence and power, could she become a true god? An entity born from the collective unconscious who is aware of their existence, capable of enacting their will into reality as they wished?
Something bitter rises to the back of your throat, and you push down your musings as you reach a second red gate at the end of the trail.
You pass through it and end up in an even bigger courtyard. The buildings you see are a very sharp contrast to the futuristic metropolis it is surrounded by.
A cursory examination reveals to you that while their architecture is undeniably archaic, you can easily discern the amount of painstaking effort that has gone into these holy structures. A single building looms over the entire shrine, being clearly the most important one. A variety of smaller structures litter the sides of the plaza.
You suppose this 'Shinto' religion take their worship very seriously.
A more rigorous examination with your truest senses reveals a few human souls littered throughout the complex, and you spot a black-haired young woman in front of one of the side buildings. She is garbed in strange cumbersome clothes; a long pleated red skirt, and a white jacket.
She appears to notice you as you walk towards the center of the courtyard, and she sets aside a bizarre long wooden handle with a brush at the end, making her way towards you with a polite smile on her face.
She bows once she reaches you, and appears unperturbed by your outlandish appearance or the alien in your arms as you politely curtsy as well as you currently can with your burdens.
"I welcome you to Kamitsuki Shrine," she says in a courteous tone as she rights herself. "My name is Wakai Hanako, one of this shrine's many caretakers. Do you require any assistance?"
"I am Lavenza," you introduce yourself as you ponder your options. "And yes, I would be thankful for your guidance. I was afraid it was too early to visit at the moment."
The human smiles brightly. Content to have company, you guess?
"Oh, I wouldn't worry about it. This shrine is always open to those who seek to enter it." She examines you closely. "Have you ever been to one before?" She asks in a curious tone. "You seem to be foreign."
You shake your head. "No, I have not."
"That's fine, then," she says. "I'll just show you the basics; it shouldn't take long." She informs with a small smile, turning around towards another edifice. "If you'd follow me, please."
…You end up doing quite a lot, actually. Hanako appears knowledgeable about her religion, so you simply follow her instructions and perfectly mimic her actions. You do have to put down your Compendium and Kyubey, though. In any case, the small creature follows you around like it has been doing since you met it, never once leaving your side.
You 'purify' your inner self, you head to the focal shrine in order to pray to the gods; a variety of tasks that even a child could perform. Nevertheless, you… wind up…
enjoying your time in the shrine, strangely enough. You fail to pinpoint the cause of your enjoyment, however.
After ringing a bell, bowing two times, and clapping both of your hands twice, your guide whispers to you from your left side, her head bowed in reverence as you both stand in front of the main shrine. "Now, say a prayer. It can be anything you want."
What do you do?
[] A prayer? Well, you don't see any harm in trying…
-[] The wellbeing of those you know.
-[] Good fortune in your travels.
-[] Insert your prayer.
[] Don't bother. You've failed to sense any true power from the inner shrine. Your heartfelt wish would be wasted here.
[] Do something afterwards?
-[] Thank Hanako for her hospitality. You have learned much today.
--[] Speak with her.
---[] Topic?
-[] Speak with Kyubey after she is gone.
--[] Topic?
-[] Something else?
[] Write-In.

Some time has passed, so it's not quite as early anymore. Probably around 8:15 AM?
Anyways, I'd appreciate some ideas for what you could do after this.
