The Velvet Room Attendant – A Lavenza Quest (Persona 5/Multicross)

... Shiiiiiiiiiit.

I suggest running.

NOW!

We can't open a gate to the velvet room (we've seen in persona 5 powerful enough entities can force their way into and usurp the room, If yaldaboath could do it then Nyarthotalep definitely will be able to! So we need to run to the Human world (preferably one with the persona 2 or Persona 3 and 4 cast, P5 cast ain't powerful enough and their nature of rebellion will leave them vulnerable to Nyarthotalep possessing them (he did it in P2 for a bit))

We can't go to the room until we are certain we have lost Nyarthotalep (and that the rooms not been compromised, since for Nyarthotalep to be active means Philemon's basically Sh@t the bed (he's supposed to have sealed himself and Nyar outside reality to prevent this idiocy...)

As for background, Nyarthotalep is equal to and the opposite of Philemon, the creator of Igor and the velvet room. He's destroyed the world once and is in someway shape or form responsible for ALL the nasty stuff in the persona games (after P2 where Philemon rewound time to game Nyar, Philemon sealed the two of them beyond reality (Nyar was 90% dead at the time but regenerating from man's evil like Erebus in P3 does)

As for Power... 90% certain we just killed Theo... (To take down Nyar the first time required a team of 7 WILDCARDS! (In game it was only 4 party members due to gameplay limitations of keeping it balanced and programming). Nyarthotalep at full power scales to Philemon (who is laveza's big boss-the creator of Igor and the room). Avatars are weaker than Igor and the more generations forward the weaker they are (Margaret is the eldest followed by Elizabeth then theodore with Laveza the youngest). LAVEZA HAS NO CHANCE WINNING THIS!

Only real option is:

[X] Perform a fighting retreat. Go back to where Theodore... was.(doubt he's still alive if we left him with Nyarthotalep), if he's still around but crippled pick him up and bring him with us to the Human world.)If he is dead... Promise to avenge him
-[X] Make a fighting retreat to the Persona 3 and 4 World. Look for your eldest sister if you have a chance, but be quick about it because we can't win against this -thing-. You need your master's aid against something like this and jumping straight to the room will compromise the room should the thing manage to get in following you.
(Pretty certain Laveza SHOULD know enough signs to recognise Nyarthotalep... I mean Igor wouldn't be stupid enough to Not brief the avatars on their hated enemy!)

Definitely Sunglasses Hitler.

It's interesting that it only summoned a Persona after Lavenza summoned her own. It also changed its Persona after Lavenza summoned a new one.
Maybe the spell it used is necessary to copy Lavenzas Personas?
... Can it summon Personas without us having already summoned one? Do we actually have to fight?
It is, apparently, still a Shadow and pretty much every action until now was aimed at provoking Lavenza somehow.

The other Lavenza continues unabated. "With every choice you make of your own free will, more and more of your heart is revealed to me. You can't deny me, Lavenza!"
It seems a bit weird that it says deny instead of defeat if this was just a normal battle, and not some kind of Id confrontation/facing your Shadow.

I wonder, if we dismiss our Persona, will it dismiss it's as well?

Lavenza punching Lavenza in the face would be a weird but kinda cool thing to have happen.

As nice as that would be... Nyar is just borrowing the form (He's literally evil incarnate and just using her body shape to mess with Laveza), his preferred form (When hes not using his true form or possessing someone/using a form to cause trouble is LITERALLY Hitler with Sunglasses (Or straightup Hitler if you are playing the japanese version where they never bothered to censor it).

Us dismissing our persona would mean he would just revert to another form if we went CQC. One better suited to close combat (His true form is literally a multifaced Tentacle Shadow... and has access to final boss level BS(depending on if the PSP version counts he also has excess to armageddon R and more Bs, like massive almighty attacks with a mute No summoning effect,a flat dammage skill which deals fixed unblockable damage,a rollout level attack which gets stronger every time he uses it in a battle and the ability to seal ones ability to switch persona's then Wail on them (not counting his ability to Nullify all buffs and shields/immunities)

He also has 18000 Hp (Armagedon would barely do more than half his health... before he nuked you back).

Honestly it depends on if we can keep it playing with its food so to speak, long enough to make a break for it and actually escape. No chance of victory here (Unless theo magically shows up and is willing to duel cast armageddon, or Nyarthotalep us horendously weakened

I think it depends on "how much" Nyarl we have to deal with. Like, is this a splinter of the real deal or just an echo in the Sea of Souls?
The fact that there is a condition on it learning stuff about Lavenza means it's probably nowhere near the power level of the real Nyarlathotep.

To The End Of A Dream
You dodge yet another razor-sharp gust of wind, exhaling sharply.

Briefly, you consider going all out against this Shadow with the strongest fusion spell you are able to cast-- but you dismiss the idea. There's too much risk involved. Even if you manage to land the hit, there's absolutely no guarantee it would destroy her, and spending that much power would leave you briefly vulnerable and open to retaliation, a recipe for disaster.

So, you swallow your pride, and promptly turn and dash away from your opponent.

Of course, you don't let up your assault. Even as you tactically retreat, you fling a handful of destructive Magarudyne's in her direction.

Shadow Lavenza bursts from beyond the wall of hurricanes before you can make it far. In a few steps, she's catching up with you, even as you hurry your pace.

"Didn't you listen!?" Shouts the Shadow as it charges you. "You can't run!"

A ripple runs along the space in front of you as you turn to look at her. The strange distortion fades away a second later, and you put it out of your mind as you focus in the battle.

Vishnu is dismissed with a thought as you continue your retreat, with another Arcana Card at the ready. You summon Lakshmi, and in the distance, your Shadow does the same.

In a flourish, your Persona casts Diarahan, and you are showered in sparkles of green light.

Your frown deepens when you feel no change. The superficial wounds you sustained failed to heal… Why didn't it work?

When you look up from your bafflement, you instinctively avoid the chainsaw's swing. You grimace. The Shadow's already caught up with you. She grins at you as she goes for another strike, and you instantly unleash an ice spell.

Above you, Lakshmi dances to an unheard tune as a torrent of ever-growing ice flow from her hands, completely encompassing your enemy. As you resume your retreat, the ice shatters, revealing that your grinning foe is no worse for wear.

Shadow Lavenza gestures grandly. "My turn!" The corrupted Lakshmi behind her mimics your Persona's movements as it casts a spell.

For a second, nothing happens. Then, out of the corner of your vision, you glimpse a flash of light. As you turn to face it, you find yourself face to face with--

Megidolaon.

Your entire vision turns white, and you can do nothing but uselessly cover your face from the flash as you attempt to outrun the spell-- but it's too late. Searing pain makes itself known as you are caught right in the heart of the explosion.

It fades away three seconds later.

You're left panting. Your teeth grind together as you bear the wounds inflicted upon you. You were right. This is not a battle you will win without assistance.

Your Shadow stands smugly a few dozen feet from you, waiting for something. You could not physically care less about what that is. In a blink, your Grimoire flies open and a card is shattered as you dismiss Lakshmi, Alice appearing by your side in a polite curtsy.

"Persona!" You cry out as you reciprocate with a Megidolaon of your own.

White light engulfs the Shadow, and you dash backward to proceed with your retreat.

As the spell fades and your grinning Shadow emerges in pursuit seemingly unfaced, you predict you will be here for a while.

Somewhere along the way, the battle turned into one of attrition.

You've made considerable progress. The golden door is a distant object in the heavens now. You must be near your siblings' location.

However…

You sidestep yet another swipe of the chainsaw, kicking the Shadow away as you strive to keep some distance between you two. Zaou-Gongen roars out a challenge at your command, and immense pillars of bristling fire immediately surround your opponent, harmlessly washing over her.

With a gesture, her own corrupted Zaou-Gongen summons a gigantic fist from thin air with God's Hand. The spell gives chase, faster than you can run. In desperation, you have your Persona interpose itself between you and the colossal blow.

You stumble in your step as the pain wrecks your body. Damn it all. Your numerous healing spells have only worked once in the entirety of the battle. The damage is beginning to take its toll on you.

As you dismiss Zaou-Gongen, hers vanishes as well. Her Personas are somehow dependant on your own, a fact you've taken advantage of at every opportunity. Unfortunately, her chainsaw is not something you can dismiss with a simple thought. There have been a number of close calls.

You sweep your right arm as the Shadow charges, and a row of Arcana Cards materialize from your Compendium, forming in a spinning circle around you. As she reaches you with an eager grin, you hold out your hands, and the floating cards fling themselves into the cutting chain of the growling weapon. The shattering cards give you enough time to leap out of her reach, and you hastily bolt towards your destination.

--There! With your senses, you discern two very familiar presences not much further from your current position. A niggling piece of doubt evaporates from your mind at the discovery. Now you need only reach your siblings.

Instinctively, you duck, avoiding Shadow Lavenza's strike. Your already replenished disc of Arcana Cards come to your defense with a thought, momentarily succeeding in holding her back as they struggle against the chainsaw.

The Shadow shows no signs of effort as she parries the constant stream of cards. "I must say, this… scar in your soul fascinates me." Your eyes widen. "To be violently torn apart and then sloppily put back together…"

You take a step back as your assault falters. You attempt to say something, but nothing coherent comes out. "I-- How…"

Shadow Lavenza cackles. The laugh is unfamiliar, alien. Not yours. "Are you afraid, Lavenza!?" She discards her weapon, throwing it away as she holds out a hand. "Die, knowing it was all for naught!" A small, red glyph appears above her palm, with a thin yellow slit over it that opens itself up into a full, unblinking eye.

The eye vanishes, and your vision darkens as a strong pressure wells up within you. You feel yourself fall backward as consciousness slips from your grasp...

...Distantly, you hear the muffled voices of your dear siblings.

"Sister!"

"Lavenza!"

...Ah. They're here… Good.

You blearily glance around. You're sprawled on the surface of the Sea of Souls. The far-off stars twinkle and grant you illumination in the void, your limbs trembling with exhaustion as you struggle to stand up.

"Impressive..." Shadow Lavenza steps up to you, effortlessly picking you up by the collar of your dress as she down stares into your eyes. "To face the might of the shadows, and still breathe…"

Out the corner of your eye, you see a flash of blue light. You struggle to turn your head to look upon the arrival. It's not who you expected. It's a man, clothed in formal wear and sporting a clear frown, despite his masked visage.

"Nyarlathotep!" He shouts. "Unhand her at once!"

N… Nyarlathotep?

The Shadow responds. "And if I... don't?" She taunts. "What will you do, oh great Philemon? You're weak." She spits out the word in utter derision. "Your pathetic influence can no longer hold me back!"

"You lost." The man, Philemon, says calmly. "Humanity has rejected you. When will you finally accept this truth?"

"Never!" Screeches your opponent. "I know you rigged it all! I am undeniable!"

A pause.

"You leave me no choice, Crawling Chaos."

After a moment, a blinding, overwhelming white light consumes your vision, and you see no more.

Your eyes snap open. You lie on the ground, looking up towards a foreign sky.

This marks the end of what could be considered the first arc of the quest.

There'll be two votes, one for who is the new temporary MC, and another for the second world.

By any chance is Warcraft a viable world? If so:

Well I have to say that the latter half of this first arc was not particularly enjoyable. Hopefully now that we got the bad end out the way this next arc can be better. I'm worried about us being split apart, but as long as we aren't Caroline it should be manageable. PMMM was really just not a good universe for this quest, with Kyubey and wishes being both too evil, too powerful, and too open ended. Which is why Worm should be avoided at all costs.

Well, at least this'll be fun until we can find Caroline again.

[X] Justine
[X] Yuki Yuna is a Hero

We're going to need punch power
And ain't nobody have more punch power than Yuki fucking Yuna. Nobody.

...Well, that could of gone better. For the record, I blame the guy who put Elizabeth and Kyubey in the same universe.
