[The Taylor Made quest]

Hmm, I'm guessing the travelers either aren't in town yet or aren't that well known?

X] Go after Faultlines buisnese
-[X] Don't they have a Case53 try to talk to them and see if we can pass this off as an underground cure for Case53's and possibly to others with unwanted powers.
--[X] Get past our issues we are going to need a cell phone preferable a burner phone that will be difficult to trace. Our powers make us a grade A trump and instant kill switch for capes lets not get a 9mil singing bonus with the first gang to find this out.

They're not in town at the moment. All I'm saying in that subject. Also wondering would you guys want a list of all gangs/their members or not to keep the powers as a surprise. Would you also like a list of all the powers Taylor has in her possession at the end of a chapter. Feedback is appreciated.

Chapter 7

"[Data] (it is possible to grant previous hosts a connection to [Shards])' Taylor was brought out of her musing as the data package came. Hmm.

'That's good, I won't have to steal Heroes powers. I presume this will also grant me the ability to 'switch off' their connection. But for Case 53s... [Query?] (do I absolutely need to use a Power we take)' sending the question to the shard she was not surprised at the immediate response.

'[Confusion?] (it is not needed to establish connection but why?' Her power seemed really confused at the idea.

'hmm how to put this... [Explanation] (some powers cause detrimental effects. Hosts known to populous as {'Monstrous Capes'} and {'Case 53s'} at the most obvious examples)' she felt like she put a added explanation for Case 53s and Monstrous capes but she wasn't sure. Feeling a vague sense of shock from her power she turned back to look at her list of Gangs in Brighton Bay.

'I could set myself up as a sort of cure for Case 53s, but would I even be able to cure their altered biology. It's not as if it's part of their powers. It's power induced yes but actually a part of their powers? No. Maybe get back on that when Goldy is out of shock' Taylor decided. Looking around her room she realised something.

'The only social network I have is PHO, how the hell am I going to be contacted for my idea of taking powers from case 53s' Taylor felt like shaking her head. She was just jumping over steps today.

'[Disgust] [Assurance] (Can connect to other [Shards] for host and not allow Host to gain their capabilities. Cannot understand lack of safety other [Shards] some seem to have)' Her original power told her.

'Well it seems like I can be a cure for Case 53s power wise. Is their a way to fix the biology problem... [Query?]' she asked and reply was almost instant.

'[Acknowledgement] (hosts form change and out of parameter mental changes are currently out of ability to change. Once [Shard] dominated, be able to force previous Hosts body back to previous state)' Her original power told her.

'that was good for all things considered' Taylor thought before deciding, yes she more then likely was going to try and find Faultline first.

'Need for Speed will be next, then maybe Hecta or Uber and L33t. From their I can start hitting the independents and more minor groups like Red-hand, Undersiders and Stone makers. from their.... The real gangs of the city will be taken' she smirked, oh she knew all to well there would be problems, the plan was so vague otherwise and she may not get ALL the powers brockton bay had to offer. But she could at least get a lot.

Blinking she shook her head as her train of thought derailed quite heavily after her powers input before focusing on her current lack of communication.

'Cell Phones and Burner phones' she swallowed. While it's been years her mother's death still weighed heavily on her, being reminded on 'who' caused it every few weeks by Emma didnt help in this regard and her father's banning on cell phones....

'I will need them sooner or later' Taylor thought stubbornly and wrote down, 'Get a Phone' before pausing. Plotting was good and all but what exactly will she do while her dad is out...

Chapter 8

'I guess i can go looking for Faultlines crew's businesses. Pretty sure they owned a few shops around town' Taylor thought before deciding to go on Brockton News website and searched in Faultline.

Looking it other she was slightly surprised at the fact their was in fact a large number of articles with her name in it. Scrolling down Taylor almost choked as she saw the 'Building collapse by faultine' article. Shaking her head she scrolled down further and stopped at a article called 'Merchants attack Palanquin'.

'Bingo' she grinned as she looked it over. In all honesty she was surprised at how dumb the merchants were painted in this article. They literally walts in, put a gun to the bartender and demanded faultline come out.

'They must if been High as Shit when they did this' Taylor dully noted but it said Faultline came from UPSTAIRS specifically. So it was a good bed Palanquin was one of her businesses. 'First let's get some info and a costume before I head off. I highly doubt I know all of her crew' Taylor decided before looking them up on Parahuman Wiki.

Faultline someone who has a touch based power to cut anything
Newter a case 53 who turned orange, has a tail, can clime walls and body fluids causing hallucinations to knocking people out
Gregor another Case 53 who was a low level brute and could generate slime with various effects
Another case 53 called Shamrock who actually didn't have any odd features and had something around Luck manipulation bull
Labriynth the least seen and most scary member of faultlines gang who was THE Shaker, the strongest one on record with the ability to apparently draw objects from other worlds and in turn make a labyrinth.
Spitfire was actually a normal cape with the ability of spewing a liquid that was similar to napalm and ignited on contact to air making it seem like she was spitting fire
Finally the last member of her crew Saturn. A case 53 who's body turned into a black sphere with a short ranged telikenesis around her body that allowed her to use sand and dust to make writings to talk to people. She was also the teams heavy hitter as she was damn near invulnerable with only LUNG of all people at his height only managing to make a crack and while short ranged Her telikinesis was near absolute with only Obelisks well Obelisks bit being effected by her.

Looking it over she gulped it how hard this was going to be. Setting herself up as a cure was not going to go other well when faultline was going to demand specifics...

'Maybe sneaking in and curing on of their members first before talking is a good idea. A case 53 preferably, probably Shamrock as she was the least risky' Taylor nodded at that pleased before going into her other problems.

She personally has other 500 dollars saved up, thanks to the recent boon in her dads job after the volunteer work of Kaiser to make a second docking area thanks to strategically placed metal columns placed by Rune some life actually came into the city with trades from Boston and more north becoming much more common. Of course it was trashed in a fight with the local protectorate after they tried to arrest them and the PRT closing down the area for months to check for any 'master influences'.

Taylor audibly snorted. 'yeah right, they just didn't want to admit the villains did something good for once' shaking her head she thought of other such landmarks made by the villains after that. She could literally see Obelisks giant obelisk that took up 3 blocks in its girth and rivaled the PRT HQ near the middle of the city which they built their base atop.

It was also a subtle reminder of Escalator capes. Obelisk could probably collapse the foundation of her pillars and send it all crashing into the ground if given time. Kaiser could probably make the new docks a hard iron fortress and the OTHER land marks....

'Im going off topic. I have $500ish which would probably be enough for a new phone and probably a MotorBike helmet to if I get a cheap phone is a disguise and for when I 'join' Need for Speed' Taylor frowned at she knew that much money was probably more then she could easily get back.

Looking down on her note book she absently wrote the rough powersets of the Faultline crew before looking on her page and ripping it out in annoyance. Deciding to just make a page per Parahuman with a gang list on the first to make a sort of index she started with the Mercs and wrote down what she knew about each of them. Thankfully she wrote lightly and in rubber so she can rub it out on a latter date. also noting down the clubs address.

'I'm pausing a lot recently' Taylor grimaced. Though to be fair, her life just turned around with the knowledge she was a cape, and a fucking terrifying one at that. 'I could chat with my power more....' that was becoming more of a good idea lately, she learned so much about her power in the past hour she doubts many others know of their own.

Idea coming to mind she took out another book, 128 pages in length and write down Shards for a title. Hell if anyone understood what she meant she would be shocked. But deciding to write down facts she knew about her shards she thought for a few minutes before jotting Down 'Shard Language' which was also apart of her power. Writing down immediately 'Data', 'Shard', 'Query?' and After a moment she remembered 'Entity'.

'I will ask my power about these later....does my power have a name?' she paused at the idea, true it labeled her as Host but that could just be apart of silvers Interface thing.

'[Designation?] Taylor... Sent to her power and the reply was almost instant.

'[Vital Nexus]' was the reply which for some reason Taylor thought suited him...her...it? Looking down on her newly opened book she wrote Vital Nexus before thinking on what else to do.

Time to vote on what to do before Danny comes home.

Know thy opponents is a tad more important this early in the game, especially given how our power forces us to get closer to exert control over the process. We should consider ahead of time who needs to have their powers removed, who needs to be eliminated, and who gets how much leeway.

Heroes for example... probably not entirely trustworthy, but generally speaking it'd be a bad idea to brain fry them, or to take their powers away.

Birdcage bound types, should probably loose their powers on general principal, either they're guilty and deserve it, or not guilty and being powerless saves them from that shit-hole.

And the real psychos, well it might be very much easier for everyone if they just dropped dead suddenly.

Chapter 9

'I guess i can fill in my Parahuman book' Taylor thought as she slowly brought her other book from the desk and held it, making some edits with the design and format of the new profiles of the Parahumans.

Parahuman: Faultline
Villain
Gang: Faultline crew
Powers: the ability to seemingly cut anything that isn't organic with her fingertips
Touch based power steal

It was rough but she could make it better later. Going past Saturn's page she briefly wondered what to write before deciding that it's possible they will recruit more soon so she left 3 pages blank. The next gang she wrote in was Need for Speed.

Parahuman Motor
Villain
Gang: Need for Speed
Powers: a female Tinker who seemingly specialises in fast veichles although their has been rumors of her making some drug/booster to improve reaction time and reflexes
Might need eye based but preferably touch

Parahuman: Speed Barrier
Villain
Gang: Need for Speed
Power: the ability to create a red force shield like barrier that once you go through you roughly double in speed, videos have shown her using then to increase her punches power so maybe it's more like increasing the force behind objects
Preferably touch

Parahuman Hot Wheels
Villain
Gang: Need for Speed
Power: she's speedster topping at over 100km/h that has the ability to generate flames behind her and has bad control over them.
Preferably touch

Parahuman: Ramp
Villian
Gang: Need for Speed
Power: creation of white near see-through forcefields that can handle up to a brute punching them. She can manipulate their shape and fix them in place. Commonly making ramps and tracks for the gang to escape on.
Preferably touch

Looking it over Taylor was glad she didn't write it in pen. 'I need a better way to organise this stuff' Taylor thought before pausing.....

'interface creation... Could it make a journal or something I can control with my thoughts....' Now that was a interesting question. But first.... '[Designation]' she asked the Silver spire.

'[Force Sphere]' was the reply and Taylor nodded although it didn't make an much sense as Vital Nexus's did. She shrugged, she guessed it sorta fit with the circle and telekinesis.

'[Query?] (can you create {This}) Taylor thought and was surprised when the reply wasn't instant.

'[Disappointment] (can only create interfaces for powers)' welllll that was a bummer. Taylor jolted as she heard the knock on the door.

"Taylor, I'm back" she briefly glances at her computer and realised it wasn't switched on. How long had it been since dad left while she was deep in thought.

"Coming over Dad!" Taylor quickly hid the books inside her desk before coming over to the door, opening it she was surprised to see a grin stretched across her father's face.

"uuuugh, what happened" Taylor said a tad catiously looking at her father.

"well what happened was I called Arcacia last week and asked if I could speak to the principle or a deputy regarding the school. I got on to the senior deputy and I tolled him about your situation. He forwarded it to the principle and gave me a number to call sometime around today to see how it went. Well the board is currently pissed off that the event happened and found out the fact the police aren't investigating anymore a few hours ago. Apparently they figured out why and they were not happy. Not one bit, don't know exactly what's going on but I know this, Emma is getting expelled from Winslow and Arcacia, Madison is apparently suspended but going to the Catholic school in a few months time. I don't know about Sophia but they assured me it was getting dealt with but they also said Winslow is closing down and theyre letting you transfer ahead of the tide so to speak" he didn't pause for breath once out of that.

Taylor was a little dumbstruck at that and she walked over to her chair to sit down. Emma is banned from Arcacia was the main thing she focused on. She didn't doubt a few if her tormentors got a express road to Arcadia, she didn't mention them so unless the investigation kicks off properly this time she doubted she would not see any of them again. But it was great for the most part.

"thanks dad" she muttered and Danny gave his daughter a hug, carefully keeping the fact she was also suspended if only in paper from school for another couple weeks because of Blackwell, about going against the agreement for paying for her hospital bills.

'good ridance' he thought sourly remembering them saying she was being sent further upstate for reeducation on how to be a principle in the deputies words.

Calming down Taylor smiled tearfully before attempting to make a joke "only way to make it better is if my allowance was doubled" she joked and Danny grinned a little.

"well, that might happen actually. Word has it that lung is getting a little angry with the fact none of his gang can make a landmark so he is going to destroy the boat graveyard this weekend. It will be a busy week for me as I will have to get everyone new jobs that's going to open so I might be a little sparse for the next couple weeks" Danny warned his daughter and Taylor mentally cheered for the money and the fact the graveyard is going to be gone over the weekend.

"hope he doesn't track the dock area, or do you dad just so you can get your boys some work on the side" Taylor joked.

"hey Taylor I don't want that, the costs while be payed by the mayor as the area is going to be revitalised is going to be annoying" Danny said, joking along though silently wishing that didn't happen. It might damage future jobs if that was the case.

"now if only the merchants died over the weekend to make the area safer" he muttered near silently and Taylor frowned as she heard him. The merchants...

'after Faultline tomorrow' Taylor mentally reprimanded herself as she got her priorities straight. "so when's dinner" she asked hoping it was late enough.

"at 7, not exactly hungry and got to heat the oven first" Danny said before he walked out the room. Taylor mentally sighed before logging in to her computer. 2:21....

'I can go grab a cellphone and helmet now but then dad would see them when I got back, plus it's more then likely merchants will be in the prowl today angry. I could go after he falls asleep but that gives a greater risk of a gang encounter, I could go in the morning before dad wakes up, lesser chance of merchants around probably the safest...' thought Taylor looking it over.

Votes also it's a Friday for your info so Danny doesn't have work tomorrow, he does on sunday though. Also if you havent noticed I'm trying to not to make Taylor a Mary Sue of Convenience.

[X] Head out now and hope Danny doesn't see them after she comes back

Any recommendations for future plot points is appreciated. Omakes to, see you all tomorrow

Well the big thing is how well we can obscure our powers.

Since we have both communication and re-location power we can be far more of a threat than Glaistig ever was. We've already convinced our power to give us far more flexibility than intended, and who knows what BS we can pull on individual shards, up to and including giving people powers (same powers as the shard gave the last host, new power, or even mix and match multiple shards to create custom grab-bags), and possibly triggering potential para-humans without trauma.

We could probably make trump-thinker 9 just pretending to be the power whisperer, without even revealing that we get powers from our work, or can kill capes with a look.

Does our power come with cape awareness beyond the visual?

A lot depends on how long we hide which aspects of our powers. The gangs are going to want us no matter what, PRoTectorate included. However their recruitment attempts will change in character as more details come to light.

My suggestion would be to approach this as a Rogue, offer our services as the power whisperer to various less objectionable factions in exchange for cash or favors, while quietly copying powers without cutting off people from using their own.

After you've worked with Faultline... and is there a new wave equivalent? You should approach the PRoTectorate for official rogue status (assuming that's a thing).

[X] Go out in the morning before dad wakes up

So, I'd kind of like to see a more complex vote. Maybe like this?
[?] Week (or month) of activity (pick some number determined by the QM)
-[] start exercising in the morning. Make it a habit to get out of the house before Danny wakes up, just in case you ever have to sneak out, that way you can just 'be coming back from a jog' in the morning.
-[] figure out the gold and silver. Somebody died because this wasn't understood
-[] look up cape videos at the library. Are there enough cape fights that you could just try to 'wander' near one to look for targets of opportunity.
-[] tag along with Danny when he goes to watch Lung. Once Lung is done clearing the boat graveyard, well, you'll know where he is and he's killed a bunch of people.
-[] get caught up with school work for Arcadia. Falling behind will curtail heroic activities.
-[] Figure out a way to contact Faultline safely and then do so. Maybe you can help people that way to build up a library of powers.

This story is interesting enough in premise that I'm here, but each vote is quite minor. Just a thought.

My suggestion would be to approach this as a Rogue, offer our services as the power whisperer to various less objectionable factions in exchange for cash or favors, while quietly copying powers without cutting off people from using their own.
This, I like this plan. Copy the powers of the good guys, then once we can fight, start going after the bad guys, maybe even after rebranding.

Semi serious omake
Also because it sets things up for this scene:

Sophia sighed as she was dragged in to see yet another 'expert'. At least this one was a cape, some sort of new trump-thinker that could tell people about their powers, make adjustments to powers, and suppress them in a short radius.

She'd originally been a suspect, but her suppression was temporary, and while the changes she'd made to monster capes had stuck, they usually retained some variation of their power.

Now she was Sophia's last chance, Piggot had made it clear that this would be the last effort on the PRT's part before she was cut loose. Technically she hadn't violated parole, as far as they knew, but she was now useless to them. She would thus be put into the normal system and forgotten about. Blackwell would be informed and ... things get a little murky there. Sophia had never bothered to form much of an opinion of the stooge, but the self-important bitch may decide to flee a sinking ship once she was informed that Sophia had been dropped from the Wards.

The cape, a rogue going by the moniker Fire Thief which made no damned sense, but always made the nerdier wards smirk, was tall, and wore a costume that tried to make them look bulkier than they were. She was finishing up with Vista as Sophia was escorted into the room.

"Now I've tweaked your power to give you a bit more feedback, but ease into it. If you start having a thinker headache start using your power the old way, and call me. I'll fix it up or set it back for free, satisfaction guaranteed or your money back." She looked up, "And what do we have here?"

Armsmaster explained "Shadow Stalker's powers have not been functioning normally for some time now. We were hoping you could identify the problem and maybe fix it."

"Allright, but no promises if someone else is negating her power I can't negate them without getting close, or at all if they're using tinker tech."

"Understood."

Fire Thief placed a hand upon Sophia's shoulder. "Hmmmmmmm the connection is weak, but still there, very odd, some sort of cape specific power interference effect? Have you annoyed Kid Win somehow? He might be able to do that. Maybe Leet if he weren't ... well Leet. Not many tinkers in the bay with the right focus for something this specific. A shaker maybe? No, Labyrinth does't have this level of subtlety, and Vista does space warp not timeline shenanigans. Oh... well that doesn't usually happen. Wow, would not have thought a Brockton Bay ward would have that problem."

"What? Do you know why my power wont work?"

"Yep. Sometimes a power fucks up in choosing a person to use it. They get temperamental, clumsy, hard to use, they can even become dangerous to their users."

"Can you fix it?" A brief glimmer of hope flickered into Sophia's eyes.

"I could, but you'd probably loose it again pretty quick. My suggestion is that you try to move on with your life and try not to be too upset when your power finds someone else. These things happen, not every person is right for every power, and sometimes it just doesn't work out."

Armsmaster cocked an eyebrow. "Powers can do that? Just move on to a new user without warning?"

"It's not common, usually powers try to make it pretty clear that something is wrong, they just don't always communicate in ways people are looking for. Irritability, odd impulses, power misfires, sluggish interface, harsher enforcement of limits and restrictions, but people who are especially dense, stubborn, or insensitive can miss the cues to modify their behavior. There's a limited number of ways for powers to get new hosts, so they don't like to swap around much, they'll usually just stick with a less than ideal host until they die and learn from their mistakes when picking the next host."

"Then why haven't we seen powers of dead Parahumans popping up in new capes?"

"Most powers can take multiple forms, the normal process of getting a power via triggering helps define the form a power will take with a given user."

"So you're saying Shadow Stalker and her power are too incompatible for you to make a long term fix?"

"I can't imagine a scenario where she keeps it for more than a month or so between visits, and even that would be a generous estimate."

"Could you influence the power's next choice of host?"

"WHAT THE HELL! YOU'RE GONNA TRY TO STEAL MY POWER?!"

"No, of course not, but since it's leaving you anyways we may as well see if we can get a heads up about where it's going so we can prevent a new trigger from hurting themselves or others, or getting recruited into a gang."

"Well I could try, in fact this is such a wonderful Idea that I'll give the Protectorate a discount on today's session just for suggesting it. If this works I could stop anyone from ever being sent to the birdcage again, by transferring their powers to new people... well some powers anyway. There are probably some that would enjoy that place. I could reduce the number of people sent to that hell hole anyway."

"SERIOUSLY! WHAT THE FUCK!"

A/N: Sorry this began meandering somewhere and never quite got back on track fully.

Hmmm, I think we should also try to get a list of how many methods are available to generate/collect energy from our shards and look into methods scientist have come up with/theorize to see what we can do about the energy issue. Maybe grab tinker and thinker power(s)?

I'm really looking forward to seeing what starts to happen when she gets more powers. From what I'm seeing, she should be able to jailbreak them, get rid of the black box effect on tinker powers for instance, which would mean they could become more mainstream.

It's all good. I liked it as well so good job. Also for the more complex votes, this is my first quest so I decided to make it simpler with the votes, I will start giving more complex votes in the next couple chapters. Always appreciate feedback.

@Totum That's okay, better to go at a pace you're comfortable with and increase in complexity as you get more comfortable with being a QM.

Edit: We really need to get our hands on a good Mover and Stranger power.

Chapter 10
[X] Go out in the morning before dad wakes up is the way to go. Also wanted you ask you all for your opinion on a Xover anytime soon.

Chapter 10

(6am, Saturday morning)

Taylor slowly sneaked down the stairs, wearing a old black and some blue trousers. She didn't want to get cold and it was cold here on a Brockton bay winter morning. You have a small note detailing you were going to the boardwalk for breakfast which was technically true anyway, wanting to go out. The merchants will probably be quiet today, they had just lost Whirlygig and besides the rush to appear strong they will fall back and plan to compensate.

Taylor also has 700 dollars in your hoodie pockets, genuinely surprised she forgot to add in the secret stash she kept for emergency which this sorta counted for. After all she needs a way for her face to be covered, and a helmet seems like a good idea as Taylor does plan to join Need for Speed to get access to the Capes.

But as she slowly left the house before starting to run in the direction of the boardwalk Taylor slowly realised she was not cut out for running at the moment. "huff... Oh god, I will love it when I get a brute power, or biological based one" Taylor weazed out after running for half an hour, pretty close to the boardwalk actually but she needed to catch her breath.

'I'm regretting my decision to go out with a jumper' thought Taylor grimacing as she looked down on it. It just made her hot and not in the goodway. Looking around she saw she was on Baker street. The smell of the sea was was apparent though not exactly obvious around here.

It was a more nice neighbourhood, no massively cracked tiles or rundown buildings, people walking in the open, getting ready for work. It made her smile as Taylor thought on how that would more then likely be the Docks in a few months. There was also a few shops around, a tai food restaurant most obvious which made her stomach growl but she held off. She was saving 30 dollars for a breakfast, more then likely a toasted sandwich.

However to the side was a shop with the logo Pwnshop, she chuckled at the logo and saw a chalk board sign in front talking about the pawnshop. 'maybe they will have a phone and a helmet...' thought Taylor as she crossed the street and entered the weirdly clean shop.

Looking around she saw the shop was in a rectangular shape with clean light coloured wooden floors and a more reddish wood used to make two sided stands, 4 in total making isles so to speak, with one of those old hat holders next to the entrance and various big bits were randomly placed around the room, although the walls all had shelves with various nicknaks. Looking to the cashier however she saw a silver Aura immediantly cover the cashier. Similar to Whirligig although less... Tarnished was the only word she could think of.

It just felt like it wasn't as damaged as Force Sphere. Although not that she saw it it seemed both of them were a tad dimmer then Vital Nexus. Trying to keep the idea the rather scrawny looking cashier was a cape in the back of her mind she quickly looked at the merchandise and saw immedisntly a black and blue motor cycle helmet on a stand.

Quickly walking to the left and down the isle she looked at it and found the price tag on a sticker, '180 dollars' she thought. That wasn't a bad price at all, most helmets she found online were around 300ish.

"you looking for a helmet?" said a voice next to her and Taylor jumped as the worker in casual clothes was right next to her. The name tag 'Lenny' and the rather plain face were near ignored for the Silver Aura around him.

'not one meter away....' Taylor thought. This was a tad to tempting to pass up, he was literally within a meter of her and making eye contact. The conclusion to hit the mental 'steal' button was overwhelming.

Agreeing she saw the Silver tower of crystal form in her vision, taking over her normal one just spoke and hoped she wasn't obvious. "yeah, I'm going to get a bike soon hopefully so I am looking around for a cheaper one" Taylor said and she felt Vital Nexus order the shard to drain the energy from the hosts before it transferred. She got the impression of reluctance before it agreed and was quickly rushing in to her original view in her left eye, soon overtaking and Landing to the left of Vital Nexus. She will have to check on it later as Vital Nexus pierced the shard with its newly made rod and flashes of ideas rushed in her mind.

Sending the request to relink the guy back up he started speaking "yeah, I hear you. This one was actually my old one before my bike... I lost it OK" he huffed a little which I found amusing. The new shard again sent reluntance before it was forced to remake the link with the man and she inwardly smirked.

A brand new power and he didn't even notice. "I bets that's a story" Taylor replied and 'Lenny' rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.

"yeah it is. the helmet itself is actually pretty comfy and gives rather good side vision. Its good but It was designed more for comfort. Don't get me wrong the thing will protect your head well enough to survive a crash if it happens but don't rely on it" he said a tad flustered and she took pity on the guy.

"I'm going to buy it, don't worry" Taylor said as she took the helmet and took a look on the ideas in her head. 'designs.... This guy was a Tinker' she thought a tad shocked.

"ahh, good. My friend Ben threatened if I didn't sell the thing soon it would be thrown out" he said chuckling and Taylor gave a short laugh with him. Taking it to the register she brought some money out of her hoodie pockets and realised she only had a few ten's and 50s.

"don't suppose you have change so you" she asked a little embarrassed but he waved it off. Taking the money from her hands and handing her a 20.

"is there anything else you are looking for" he asked and Taylor shuffled sheepishly.

"yeah, do you have a phone for sale. I don't mind the type but is there any cheep ones?" she asked and he nodded.

"pretty sure we have a few phones in the back, say I won't be here tomorrow, my friend Ben is running the shop, if you come tomorrow I can throw in a Sim card and a iPhone 6 for 140. It's cheep and I will admit it has a problem. It was jailbroken you see, that means most don't like the idea of owning a hacked phone despite the warranty being complete last year. So come around then and it will be worth it" Lenny said and Taylor thought about it for a minute

Short vote
[X] Come by tomorrow and get the phone + SIM card
[X] get the phone now

Taylor left the shop feeling rather satisfied with herself and stoon found herself on the boardwalk in a nice cafe eating a toasted sandwich as predicted. A grey shopping bag by her side she thought over what happened earlier today.

'I got a new shard now. A Tinker one to boot. Kinda worthless as the moment as I have no supplies but I can at least talk to it...' Taylor thought before asking '[Designation] [Query?]' to the new shard, who to her sense seemed to be a tad taller then Force Sphere.

'[Innovation] [Gratitude] [Data] (creation of any technology however chances increase odds of problems the more similar creations are to previous)' Taylor blinked. Well that one is chatty.

But the knowledge she could build anything and only have limits later... 'wait, more problems down the road if I build something to similar.... That sounds like...' Taylor shook her head and tried to forget the fact she might on just met a villain. On the overhand you had a job to do. finishing her sandwich she headed over to where she knew Palanquin was.

Yeah, this was going to be longer but I noticed I was already above my previous chapter. The quest is starting to pick up pace now and I will be writing longer chapters and I go. but now the vote
[X] Complication (Specify)
[X] Smooth traveling to Palanquin.

Either way I'm rolling a dice. Depending on the roll then things can get more complicated, easier or a random encounter added on for a future event (a consequence)

Edit Eh, accidentally uploaded early, oh well

maybe find out why Innovation is such a dick to Leet (or is it in her name already?).

I don't actually care that much about the phone, but a chance to copy Uber is not to be missed.
