[X] Just keep what's been going on going on, you like have friends you can just unwind with and not thing about how crazy life has gotten. Plus, you're not sure involving them is a the best idea.

[X] Proud yet frightened: You've done something great, an ANBU member flat out told you that to your face, and you're proud you managed to serve your Village well. But you're keenly aware that in doing so you stuck your neck into something way bigger than you. Involving a lot of people who could very easily kill you without a second thought.

-Wind is for cutting power, but while it does savage damage when you hit, we don't see it to be particularly effective on hard enemies.
*raises eyebrow*
Fuuton: Rasenshuriken vs Kakuzu?
Then there's the entire range of Wind techniques that Temari and Orochimaru were throwing around, like Wind Release: Great Breakthrough.

-Lightning is for piercing power, which is great for hard enemies, though not really adding that much vs the average ninja.
We aren't actually worried about average ninja, are we?
That's what weapon techniques are for.
And there's a whole bunch of Lighning Techniques at the lower level, starting with techniques like Electromagnetic Murder and Thunderbolt.

The best Fire techniques are bloodline-limited, I'm afraid.
As in, we're Exalted so it doesn't matter as much, but Fire doesn't really bring the boys to the yard, y'know?
Fortunately, we can learn another element later. And there's Sorcery.

Okay, someone has to make this point:
From the Interlude:
The Hokage sighed, "Unfortunately no, it is likely that whatever plans Orochimaru has with the Hidden Sand, they will take place during the Chunin Finals. So those are your orders, prepare your students for whatever they might face."

For a second his Father looked older than Asuma had ever seen him before.
"Prepare them for war."
Ino and Sakura may be teens, but they are also active-duty shinobi, not civilians.
There is a war coming, and they are going to be thrown into the front lines.
Canon Sakura was sent at Gaara and his siblings, and was hunted by two full teams of chuunin+ Sound nin.

This Sakura has already been on an A-class mission in Wave, and was attacked by Orochimaru in the Forest.
Ino came to her aid during an attack by the Sound team.
Team 8 almost got run over by Gaara on a murder rampage.

You do them no favors by treating them like mushrooms; they just end up going into shit unprepared.
Do not treat them like children with no agency of their own.
I'm going to say it's C-rank.
So not available at the moment.
Cool. Guess we'll just look into picking up at least one genjutsu instead of Chakra Flow.

[X] Open up to both of them a bit, nothing confidential of course, but just let them know more about what's been going on with you outside the times you've seen them.
[X] Optimistic yet anxious: You've done a lot of good, but you can only hope you've done enough. Something is obviously going on, and you worry that despite what you've managed to accomplish something terrible is still going to happen.

I've been swayed by Uju32, vote change:

[X] Go visit Lee in the hospital. Maybe talking to you will at least temporarily stop him from training and aggravating his injuries.

The higher end Wind techniques get around it by being shitload of power though.

...and you know, we could throw a really big fire too...if it's not working you really should be using more fire

More fire is always good, but we ought to feed some wind into our fire for sweet, sweet synergy bonus.

We already voted to see Lee this turn; that's one of the reasons we voted to go looking for new clothes first.
GM will get around to writing it, in order of priority.

This is wrong.
Power is only part of the equation; complexity matters as well.

Dude, that's not the way this shit works.

To the best of my knowledge, there isn't a single A- or S-rank Fire technique in Naruto other than Amaterasu and it's derivatives.
Water, Earth and Lightning all have canon A-ranks, and Wind has at least one S-rank.
Fire caps out at B-rank.

Granted, there's no reason Tenten couldn't just make her own A- or S-rank Fire jutsu if she gets to that rank. That's part of what Chakra Skill 6+ lets you do.

Took Minato 3 years to create the Rasengan.
Naruto ground out the Rasenshuriken in a couple weeks because Minato had already done most of the work.
Major investment in time and effort for her to make her own instead of grabbing stealing adapting someone else's work, as is traditional for ninja:V

Odd that the land of fire doesn't have any better fire jutsu.

I think that Madara's wide area fire release (Great Fire Annihilation?)was an A-Rank technique, and we could probably use seals to create a budget Senpo: Goemon if we need a bigger firestorm at some point.

Really though, as far as fire release goes, I want to try and get a hold of a blade we won't wreck by heating it up, and figuring out how to pull off a budget Yamamoto (bleach) with it. The ability to cut just about anything since our sword makes it sublimate, and also to cause wounds that both hurt much more than normal and can't easily heal seems like it could be a good investment.

The problem is that fire seems to lack any metaphysical properties.
Lighting armor can speed you up.
Earth can make you tough and seems to have gravity control.
Wind cuts.
Water can be used for invisibility.
Fire seems to lack such useful properties and only burns.

Fire purifies. That might mean that it burns away other jutsu as well.

Maybe but we have no examples from the manga so we are going to have to make up some metaphysical properties. Purifies would be a good start. Also the fires of youth. Maybe also the will of fire.

Well...fire burns :V If you are not special snowflake (and odds are that even then - even for S-class resist to being on fire would be uncommon), it is property enough.
Also, it counts as ignoring armor, methinks - amount of steel on you is irrelevant to how well done are you inside it.

Not like we're locked into fire jutsu's though. Everyone can use any element to varying degrees of success. I mean Kakashi pulls off the water dragon while not being main water elemental and it overpowers Zabusa who was a main water elemental.

Besides we're also an exalted. Which means we have a lot more options, like creating new bloodline fire released called the "great big golden fireball of annihilation"

Just need our chakra skill up to do that.

[X] Excited yet overwhelmed: A whole lot of it was exciting, and terrifying, but it's all just so much to take in. Just the numerous plausible answers for what you've seen make your head spin, it's...well saying it's a "bit much" is a rather tremendous understatement.
