New Research: [X] The Fallen Lord (4 weeks)
The Evening: (Tie Break) [X] Go out with Munira
Act 1: Scene 9: The City By Night
Munira waits at one of the smaller doors out of the compound. She wears a short dress and long boots, both in blue and is playing with a pair of cloth collars. Viona appears, similarly dressed, but in Red.
Munira: I thought you might come.
Viona: And I thought you might wait.
Munira: It's been awhile since we went out together. I thought you might be restless.
Munira hands over a collar, and fastens the other one. Her skin bleaches and her hair lightens, leaving her looking much like any other resident of the city. Viona takes hers and becomes a black haired woman with somewhat more tanned skin.
Viona: Indeed, and what is your plan for tonight?
Munira: There's a certain place I wish to see inside, a haven for adventurers and rapscallions, but it serves good food, cheap ale, and apparently, fine entertainment.
Viona follows her out of the gate and into the streets, which are lit by small magical lanterns. There's still a fair amount of traffic, even though the sun is setting. Music can be heard playing, and various groups of revelers wander the streets. Despite this, the merriment seems a little forced, as if everyone is making themselves smile.
Viona (To the audience): This city cannot stop partying, even in the most extremis.
Munira leads Viona down towards the harbor. Munira leads Viona through a maze of back alleys, over a wall with a box placed as a step, down a garden path and into what seems to be quite a respectable house. Music can be heard faintly from inside. Munira avoids the back door and goes instead to a cellar door, which she knocks on, twice, then three times. It opens and a hulking half ogre ushers them down into a basement tavern.
They quickly come to a large, white walled tavern, loud music coming from inside. The room is large, high ceilinged, perhaps once a wine cellar. It's crowded, but not uncomfortably so. The patrons appear to be a mix of people from all walks of life, minor nobles, petty merchants, artisans and sailors. However more than a few of them are obviously adventurers: brightly clad in a number of outlandish styles, and mostly with a huge amount of gold and jewelry on display.
Some are teenagers, new to the game, gawking at everything, others are well dressed, relaxed and hardened.
On the stage a Elfric, the youth from earlier.
Elfric: Good evening Gentlemen and Ladies, I am Elfric the Bold, and tonight I shall tell the tale of how I stole jewels from the palace itself, only to be undone by a Princess's hand maiden.
Elfric Winks.
Elfric: And how I got out of it alive and with both hands. (He holds them up)
Munira: I told you, good entertainment. I'll get us some drinks, find us a table.
Viona (To the audience): Damn she knows me well. How would she know I'd miss this of all things?
Viona finds a table at the edge of the room while Munira gets a bottle of wine from the bar, laughing with the barman as she does, and comes back to pour two glasses.
Viona (To the audience): So, how shall I approach this evening?
