The Outer Dimension Offensive Reloaded!

"Gunfire will likely be an effective answer to the fliers... The rest seems imminently answerable by a Phalanx so long as the Husks do not manage to break it. Would you prefer that some or all of your combat golems remain here? Bringing them along would be a force contribution, especially if there is a way for you to designate who they should look to for direction.

War Forger shakes her head.

"No, take them all. I've got Glint here to protect me. Speaking of which though, who wants command of them? Cause I need to use my powers on you before they'll take orders from anyone but me."

Achilles straightens. "I am not a commander of conventional assault forces, so I cannot volunteer. I would do more harm than good at the helm."

Solus listens attentively and considers. He is qualified to take command of War Forger's troops, but golems are different to order than actual people. And what is more, Lux got her head in the game and offers decent assessments. She is a summoner, so she would know better how to handle magical constructs.

"I want to suggest sorceress Lux for this duty," he finally says with a nod to the lady in question. "She has ample experience commanding summons."

Lorena's surprise was visible in her expression. She had been under the impression that their designated commander thought poorly of her tactical acumen after the risk she took in their initial battle, but it seemed like Solus knew genius when he saw one after all! "If Dame War Forger would allow it, then I happily accept this responsibility!" The girl exclaimed, hands on her hips and a smile brimming with confidence etched on her face, an image only spoiled by the fresh bandage on her arm.

"Before we march, however, I require a few things." Her ungloved hand was raised besides her face, fingers clenched save for her index finger pointed at the ceiling. "I would like to begin the march while we still have daylight and return here by sundown at the latest. By your knowledge of the area, do you judge this possible?" Whilst the cover provided by the terrain was invaluable to keeping their movements concealed, the unfamiliarity of the terrain meant they could never discount the possibility of being lost, especially when the darkness of night could make already treacherous paths even more so.

There was mention of the local wildlife before too, and she did not fancy having to stave them off in a moonless night.

A second finger was raised. "A troop as large as ours once supplemented by the golems may risk discovery while we position for an ambush, so I would like it if the golems were made to blend in with the colors of the woods, and for cloaks of similar quality provided to those of us who prefer gleaming armors." Not her, of course. A cloak would simply ruin her image, and besides, the dark colors of her outfit sufficed for camouflage!

Then again, a dramatic reveal where she threw the cloak away once battle was joined did have its own appeal...

Her hand was brought to her chin, the elven sorceress falling into deep contemplation as she awaited answers, a figure as silent and still as the armored skeleton besides her.

War Forger opens her mouth, then turns around to grab one of the books behind her. While she starts flipping through it, Rift Diver speaks up.

"It's about fifteen miles from here to the camp, and we've got about seven hours until it gets dark. I can teleport you there, but I don't know if I can do it without the demons finding out. They tend to move their camps every other week or so and we're about due for a change over. Your call if you want to risk it though, either way I can open a portal for you guys once the demons are dead so you won't have to walk back in the dark."

When Rift Diver is done saying her piece, War Forger closes the book and shakes her head.

"I can't change their colors, and the only cloaks we have are made of pelts. Sorry."

Gladys considers the need for leadership on the golems, as well as Lux's requests. She speaks up after the mention of the colors and cloaks being currently beyond their control. "I volunteer for commanding the golems. My ability to form a Phalanx with non-Elves would allow the golems to deal and recieve damage in excess of their individual capability, and having a second potential golem leader will expand our options." The distance for the march would be a concern on the return trip; A daylight march would be no issue.

That is further than anticipated, but doable. Solus has to convert the number into a proper 25 kilometres first, after which Graum is already speaking.

Once she is done, he addresses Rift Diver: "Is it possible to drop us off undetected partway toward the enemy camp? Perhaps a mile or two away from it?"

War Forger shrugs.

"However you want to divide them out is fine by me, I can commission both of you."

Rift Diver thinks for a moment.

"Best I can do is five miles unless you want to get dropped in a river."

Diane looked up from the map then back to it while trying to get a mental picture of the depicted terrain. Mostly fruitlessly, she had issues working out standard maps before actually wandering over the area. Teleporting around was going to make that process more difficult.

"A bit of a hike would let us get the initiative."

"Sounds good to me." War Forger walks over to Gladys and holds out her hands in front of the legionnaire.

"The campaign is long and the enemy is vast, to ensure our victory I need capable officers. Do you, Gladys Graum, accept this Commission?" power builds in the magical girl's hands as the faint outline of an emblem forms.

Solus can not help but quirk his lips, showing a wry grin. "This still spares us two thirds of the way after all. If you would be so obliged, Lady Rift Diver."

"Of course, Lord Solas." Rift Diver responds with a smirk.

Gladys nods. "I accept this Commission."

"Then go forth Lieutenant, and bring war to our enemies." The emblem drifts from War Forger's hands to Gladys' shoulder and begins to glow, when the light dies off a few seconds later a silver insignia is pinned to Gladys' uniform. War Forger steps back and shakes her head, then looks at Gladys.

"Alright, you'll be able to control the constructs now. Glint?"

"Yeah yeah, I'm going." Rift Diver finishes her bowl and tosses it into the washbasin before heading out the door.

"If that's everything you guys should probably get going, daylight's burning."

Solus rises as well, conscientiously checking his light armour and sheathes to ensure nothing went loose. "You heard the lady, ready up and move out," he drawls at the room. Then he is the first out the door, following Rift Diver. The earlier relaxation peels off like an onion's layer, revealing grim determination instead.

Achilles checks his ammo and follows Solus.

Akira Thompson
Seeing the others start to move, Akira gets up from her spot near the fireplace and followed them through the door.....

Gladys gives a quick salute to Forger, before heading outside and over to one group of the Militia Golems. "Come, fellows in arms! The enemy awaits us."

As everyone begins walking outside, Rift Diver can be seen opening a portal.

The golems turn to toward Gladys and salute before moving into formation around her.
Gladys and 2 Militia squads have merged!

Mob Activates!
50(Militia base Health) * 10(Number of Militia) = 500 Total Health
10(Militia Base Damage) * 10(Number of Militia) = 100 Total Damage
10(Militia Base Resilience) * 10(Number of Militia) = 100 Total Resilience

500(Gladys base Health) + 500(Militia Mob Health) = 1,000 Total Health
300(Gladys Base Damage) + 100(Militia Mob Damage) = 400 Total Damage
100(Gladys Base Resilience) + 100(Militia Mob Resilience) = 200 Total Resilience

The Phalanx and Esprit de Corps activate!
50(Militia base Health) * 10(Number of Militia) / 2(Non-elves) = 250 Health
10(Militia Base Damage) * 10(Number of Militia) /2(Non-elves) = 50 Damage
10(Militia Base Resilience) * 3(Number of Militia in the front row) /2(Non-Elves) = 15 Resilience

1,000 + 250 = 1,250 Phalanx Health
400 + 50 = 450 Phalanx Damage
200 + 15 = 215 Phalanx Resilience
135 + 0 = 135 Phalanx Magic Modifier

While the Militia arrange themselves into three mostly equal rows around Gladys, Rift Diver stabilizes her portal and turns to the group.

"Good luck."

Solus salutes the Magical girls, one fist pressed to his chest. "We will be swift and deadly," he declares, both to his superior and his fellow troopers. Then he motions for Legionnaire Graum. "Let our new additions take point. They are expendable, we are not."

"There is no need for caution," Lorena spoke, her skeletal guardians besides her as they fell in with the rest of the formation. "We have tree cover and the enemy is unaware of our approach. With their backs and their flanks to the river and us in the front, we must strike all at once before the demons have a chance to organize a response."

"Decade Warwick, if we can spare a moment before engaging I'll be able to-" Diane pauses as if switching a word, "...access my Harmony mode and smite the enemy with my strength."

She gestures to her rifle, "Furthermore, Thompson, Tiro, and myself can all perforate targets from range. A cautious approach could see the demons decimated before your charge connects."

Diane points her chin over at Lorena and her skeletal minions while speaking.

Solus listens with an unreadable expression. The faint twitch of his brow is all it takes to give his thoughts away.

This woman has just been injured, yet she immediately throws caution to the wind again.

He is about to speak when one of the human specialists speaks up.

So at least someone is being reasonable. Solus nods to Specialist Strand. "It sounds like a fine idea. We shall see if we can get that moment for you, Specialist."

The Phalanx, hallmark of the Elven Legion, is the result of training and discipline. The case of a human or angel being unable to join a Phalanx is not some magical restriction; It is simply the case that they have not recieved the training. As the Militia form up around Gladys, she finds that she needn't worry about directing them in the proper form. The Militia have naturally formed into a Phalanx about her; Exemplary discipline for what is presumably Forgers baseline combat golem.

"Very well. We advance through the portal!" Gladys and the newly formed Phalanx advance through Rift Diver's portal. Her eyes sweep the area as they fully emerge, adjusting their formation to account for vegetation and other terrain obstacles as they clear to allow the others through behind them.
