The Otherworlder's Skill Grinder (Original)

Time to channel her inner Mihoyo Protagonist and introduce the Supernatural World to the Almighty Bonk of Justice.

Chapter 36: One-sided Battle
[You learned "Blunt Weapon Mastery"]

After seeing everything a while ago, I am convinced. This world is not just a normal modern world. Supernatural beings are living in this world!

I should have expected that since waking up in this world. The people here are unnaturally beautiful, and even if I don't expect anything from that there is still the issue of my friends being dodgy whenever I asked them about the unnatural amount of flower pots from our room and the birds outside the windows of our club. Now that I think about it, I recall those birds also perching on the roofs of the neighbors.

There are also those occasional events when Shiro's presence pops out everywhere within my senses. I shouldn't have dismissed those as my imagination and thought about it carefully!

Now that I saw them using stuff that doesn't make sense unless there are some powers involved, I can't just deny and still say that it was some sort of explainable phenomenon. They have powers, plain and simple.

I don't know about Saki because she didn't do anything, but the other three displayed obvious supernatural powers. Honomi called out and the birds and the rodents suddenly approached, Hayami's plant creation, Shiro's shadow thingy. Even these goblin-looking men (the first time I saw some genuinely hideous-looking people in this world) can also do this darkness shenanigans that Shiro can do.

Right. Supernatural exists.

And if the lack of results from my browsing on the internet is any indication, then the supernatural side seems to be a secret thing for the people. If that is the case, then I can't just spout some nonsense on the public. There might be other supernatural factions out there who might find trouble just because I did something like that.

If the supernatural exists and my friends are a part of it, then I don't have to hide my powers anymore.

So now I find myself swinging the bat that I put in my inventory for self-defense, hitting these goblin-like men who are pouncing at me with speeds that are not possible for their short stature. Prediction gave me cues on where they would attack next and most of my sensing abilities gave me enough time to dodge their attacks.

There are a lot of them but I am steadily decreasing their numbers as I hold my ground here.

[Your Ability "Blunt Weapon Mastery" has leveled up!]

And every time I swing my bat, I blow them away from my position. Though as they fall to the ground, they seem to sink into the darkness. They are not even giving me any EXP even though I am sure I knocked them out with my swings!

One of them got incredibly close to scoring a wound from me if not for my danger sense, and managing to somehow block it with my bat.

[You learned "Parry"]

I tried to swing really hard on the one who sneaks behind me. I heard his bone-cracking before he yelped in pain as he was blown to the wall before he sinks into the darkness instead of being slammed hard on it.

Still, there is no EXP. Even though I know they are knocked out there and have received a heavy concussion with my strike. They might even be in danger of brain damage or cranial damage based on my meager knowledge about blunt trauma.

These guys.... are so bad they don't even give me EXP!

"Hehehe! Getting tired? But it is futile! Regardless of how much you try to struggle, we of the Kurohenge will reach you and you will be soon overwhelmed by us!"

"Tired?" What is he talking about? Does he think I am losing hope just because I frowned because of him not giving me EXP? He seems delusional!

"Don't you see? Even when you try and reduce our numbers, our forces are not depleting! It is because we are infinite! An army that won't reduce regardless of how much you slay our kin!"

"We are an inevitability!"

Another of them spoke behind me before I was forced to dodge as they swing their hook.

My danger sense didn't ping at all when dark spikes suddenly protruded around me and pierces all over my body. Well, it would but I don't feel anything at all other than the slight startle it causes me.

.... Oh, so just because I am immune to darkness, my danger sense won't be activated?

I should really look carefully around now because I don't want to worry my friends who gasp when they see that.

"Still... this is surprising. How come our hold over darkness doesn't affect you?"

How come they say? After learning Dark Resistance through feeling those dark tendrils around my body, I just maxed it out with my AP!

It didn't give me the option to upgrade it into an immunity. Likely because it might need some other abilities to evolve. I have my Parallel Thought and Thought Acceleration helping me peek through the requirements for the evolution while I am fighting these men, and it seems like I need a lot.

Elemental Immunity (Dark Resistance, Light Resistance, Fire Resistance, Water Resistance, Earth Resistance, Wind Resistance, Ice Resistance, Nature Resistance, Lightning Resistance)

I don't know why I still haven't learned Light Resistance, Water Resistance, and Wind Resistance. What kind of light should hit me to acquire Light Resistance? Does dipping in my hot tub not enough to be considered having resistance to water? What about the wind? Do I need to be exposed to some special wind to acquire wind resistance?

My powers won't obviously answer me so I can only wonder like that without learning anything.

Anyway, my mind is wandering elsewhere. I should focus back on the fight right now.

"I have a convenient ability that makes it easier to counter my enemies." I have to be vague like that while giving them a smile to look mysterious.

And I didn't technically lie. I acquire powers based on what I did or what I was exposed to. That meant I am self-adapting supernaturally. That can be considered as having the counters to everything I encounter, right?

"Regardless, you are still human. Can you keep up with our numbers?"

"Heh. Stop idling and continue fighting me. You might just find out?" I swing my bat and pointed the tip of it on one of them.

Using provocation and intensifying its effect through Fame Manipulation seems to do the trick as most of them growled at me, and some even gritted their teeth as they trembled in anger.

"You are dead!"

And so we continue our deadly dance. Well, it's more like trying to catch projectiles that are charging at me and slamming them like a ball.

I wonder why my friends are still staying. I already put their fame to zero, so they should use this chance to run away!

Slowly, their concern turned into amazement as the battle continues. No, rather than a battle, it should be considered a one-sided beatdown.

Sure, the men calling themselves the Kurohenge are the ones actively attacking their friend, but they can't even touch Yumeko regardless of what they do. And even if they somehow got closer to her, she simply repels them with her bat and then slam them away from her like she is just playing golf, even though she is using a bat.

Even when these people suddenly emerge from the ground, or suddenly fall above her, she is just slamming them all with skillful swings of her bat, or just a casual flick of her wrist. The strength of her hits doesn't diminish even as she uses them casually.

"Impossible!" They heard one of the small men scream in denial. "How come you are still moving!? You should be already tired by now!"

They also thought like that. It's been an hour since the battle started, though despite that Yumeko is still standing and she doesn't look like she is exhausted. Not even a sweat can be seen on her skin as she just stands there casually.

They are not moving that much and the only thing they are doing is watching because they are concerned for her. These men, weirdly enough, are not even looking at them anymore despite their claim that they are targeting Shiro. They still wonder why, and their only suspicion is that Yumeko might have done something for that to happen.

"I don't get tired. I might have unlimited stamina or something?" The way she says that is so nonchalant, and she looks convincing that they can't help but easily believed her, even when she said that with that tone.

"Even if your body is inexhaustible, your mind can't possibly bear to repeat the same actions!"

Just like what they said, Yumeko simply repeats what she has been doing. She strikes, she parries, she evades, and then she strikes once more. It's a never ending cycle of attack and defense even when it looks like the Kurohenge are not decreasing.

Humans can't possibly those movements for a long time. In fact, she should have slipped up as she repeated the same patterns because humans can't possibly maintain a monotonous action like that. It became so repetitive that the battle is becoming boring to their eyes too.

"What do you know? I'm just built different!" Though the way she shrugs her shoulder and say that casually somehow provokes the goblins once more.

"You!"

And so, another series of attacks occurs, and then Yumeko simply does her usual action. Dodge, attack, parry, dodge, attack, parry. She even seems to be moving more efficiently now. Her movements has become half-movements, and her strikes are becoming more faster and trickier. Her form has become more graceful and her strikes more efficient with less wasted movement.

"Continue attacking me, chumps! No way you are just going to run away after you boastfully screamed that you're going to torture me!" And Yumeko even have the gall to insult them as she continues the monotonous battle.

"I'll kill you! We will kill you!"

And so another hour has passed. Even the skies has turned a bit darker as the moon has been obscured by the dark clouds. Thankfully there are still light through the lamppost, and these men seems like they didn't have enough clarity to try and destroy them to use their abilities effectively.

".... Do we... have to help her?"

".... does she even need help?"

Saki responded to Honomi while looking at them with a relaxed posture. Her hands are behind her head as she looks at them with a grin on her face.

"Look, Yume-chan is beating down his ass! No way he is going live that down!" Saki giggled as she says that.

"We still need to be prepared in case Yumeko-chan needs our help!" Hayami grumbled besides them, though they can see that she also seems content on watching too.

They already know within their hearts. Yumeko can handle this without their help. They are just here as audiences even if they say otherwise.

"ENOUGH!" His scream echoed through the uncrowded streets, and it causes the four to feel their spine shuddering at that screeching voice. "No matter how much you can resist darkness, you can't possibly endure everything!"

After one of those goblins uttered that in anger, an orb of darkness suddenly covered Yumeko. Though it is brief as the dark orb exploded into nothingness with Yumeko's simple swing.

Then a huge pillar of darkness formed around Yumeko, before engulfing her with the sinister pillar that seems to contain all the hatred of the world. That too dispersed when they heard the familiar sound of her bat swinging through the air.

Multiple spikes made of darkness shoots at her everywhere, and they harmlessly bounced off of her body before they shattered. Though the Kurohenge seems to be in rejection as they screamed louder, intensifying the numbers of dark spikes shooting around her.

Nothing affects her. Even when all of them shoots a beam of darkness, she didn't even flinch. Yumeko is just looking at them, and then yawning (the nerve of her) at them with the most bored expression that she has.

"No.... this is not possible!"

"Are you done?" Yumeko asks that to the small men in denial.

Their confident expression are utterly crushed as they saw Yumeko just looking down at them as if they are insignificant to her and she was just forced to notice them with disgust.

"..... No! Even if we can't kill you now, we are still the Kurohenge! We won't let you rest! Everytime you let your guard down, we will strike and you will slowly find yourself falling to your despair! Kehehehehehe! You can't defeat us!"

Yumeko just silently looks at them with a frown on her face. Though as they watched, it seems like Shiro suddenly realized something as she hits her palm with her fist.

"I see. I remember now." Shiro suddenly said. "Kurohenge is a Youkai depicted on children's tale!" She exclaimed, seemingly looking proud after that realization.

"Wait... are you saying we are facing the Dark Goblins? The one old people usually tells to children to scare them so they go to sleep?"

Shiro nodded at them.

"But... aren't the Dark Goblins wearing the clothes of the poor, and are wielding the farmer's sickle? Why are all of them wearing top hats and suits now?" Hayami asked in wonder.

Yumeko seems to have heard them as she smirks. "Maybe because they are getting in with the times?"

"Who are you talking to!?" One of the Kurohenge screamed in surprise as they look around.

Their eyes briefly pointed at the four girls, before quickly leaving their form as they look around elsewhere. They gasped in surprise as they were totally ignored.

"You can't see them. I made it so!" Yumeko said with a smirk.

"How!?"

The others are also curious about it. Just how is she doing this?

"By the way, if they are a Youkai, that means they lived off of humanity's fear, right?" Yumeko simply changed the subject. With Shiro's nod, she smirks and then turned her attention to goblins. "I see... now I know why you're not decreasing in number."

".... Hehehe, that's right! We lived off of the fear of humanity against our existence! We are synonymous to darkness, so humanity's inherent fear against darkness also empowers us! Now despair, as you learn the futility of your actions!"

Yumeko shakes her head. "It might be bad if I turn the popularity of darkness into zero. I don't know what will actually happen, I just know it will be bad." She said with a shrug.

"What are you saying!?" One of the goblins growled, confused evident in their wide bulging eyes.

"I'm just saying that I will now defeat all of you." She said before her emerald eyes gave them a mischievous stare. "What will happen if you suddenly become forgotten?"

The Kurohenge doesn't know why but they felt like their whole existence is in danger. Even if they can't understand what she is talking about, all of them tried to rush at her with their scythes raised.

"""""STOOOOOOOOP IIIIIIIITTTT!!!!!?!?"""""

Yumeko raises her hand, going to do a flicking motion, before she stops and glances at the four. Then she smirks before giving them a wink.

"The fame of Kurohenge ends here!" She said before flicking her fingers.

The Kurohenge reaches her, swinging all their scythes at her.... but it didn't do anything.

".....!?!?" They can see them exclaiming in shock, but no voice left their open mouth.

And then, the unnatural darkened spots around the streets slowly turned normal, along with it is the body of the petite wrinkly men slowly becoming transparent. Their body turning into particles by the second.

They seem to scream, seemingly trying to grab onto Yumeko, or even grab themselves. Though no sounds are escaping from their screams, or even on their actions.

It only took a second, before they simply cease to exist. And with their nonexistence, the other four felt a vague recollection of just what happened. Even though they know they fought someone, they can't remember who.

While that is happening...

[You acquired 500,000,000,000 EXP]

Yumeko smiled at the prompt that only she can see.

Sorry for the delay, here is the next chapter...

Also yes, she just did the equivalent of genocide to a Youkai species.

If you want to support me, you can go to my Kofi account here.

Thank you for reading this!~♪

Fame Manipulation is very OP against beings that required faith and belief to function.
She could also use it to literally bribe gods. "Yo, Amaterasu, next month I'm going to the seaside. Make sure the weather is nice and sunny and I'll make sure you get a bit more faith."

She is hitting the majority of them with lesser movements, and the way she moves has become graceful enough.
'lesser movements' is a bit odd sounding. I would rephrase that whole sentence...

Her form has become more graceful and her strikes more efficient with less wasted movement.

or something

"Continue attacking me, chumps! No way you are just going to run away after you boastfully screamed that your going to torture me!"
"I see... now I know why your not decreasing in number."
Wrong "you're" x 2

I actually wanted to add this to the chapter, but it's getting too long so I decided to just reveal this here as a slight teaser for the next chapter.

Everything you produce will become 2x more bigger or get two copies of what you produced depending on what you chose.

I would 100% go for party, ability compiler, quest, and AP quest, in that order. May your friends grow strong!

She will probably either choose party or mania upgrades, because friends and creating stuff are her thing.

I say EXP Hogger would've been nice to have just for the fact she could've have even more EXP. Other than that I guess she probably chose Party and Dungeon for her friends. Mostly cause it more fun to slay monsters with friends.

Hi, loving the story, it is very charming and cute! I especially love how you handle knowledge skills, being mostly vague and a bit magical. It really helps the pace and tone of the story.

I just read the part where the mc built a computer. I like how you handled it in general. I just want to offer a small correction: what she made is not a 'CPU'; rather, she made a 'Desktop PC'. The CPU is the main brain of a computer, the 'central' processing unit, and is a little chip (< 5cm x 5cm) that is clipped into the motherboard. A PC (Personal Computer) is all the various components (RAM, GPU, CPU, Motherboard, HDD, PSU, etc. ) all connected within the chassis and ready to be used. A Desktop PC is a computer that is too large to be portable (your normal tower chassis for example).

EDIT: I see now that someone already mentioned this... oh well, that is my fault for being impatient.

Chapter 37: Four Perks
"Thank you very much!~"

After that debacle from that nearby street, I finally managed to get to the junkyard and get some of the materials I need. It's not heavy for me so I can carry it. When we get to a place where there is no crowd, I finally decided to put the sack of scraps into my inventory.

I said we because Hayami and the others came along with me. Now that I know that they have powers too, I don't have to think about hiding it anymore.

"So.... you have powers like us huh...." Hayami muttered under her breath.

"I'm more surprised that all four of you are going around and doing heroics. Let me guess, did it start the last week? Or maybe on the last weekend?"

"Uh... wow, you're right... how did you know?" Saki exclaimed.

"Well, you suddenly gave me a weird reason that Saturday, and seeing what you are doing now, I think connecting this to that day is simple." I shrug before continuing. "So, you have powers for a long time now, huh?"

"A month..." Shiro suddenly speaks.

A month? So they just got their powers last month?

"We don't know why, but one day we suddenly got powers. I think it's on the day when we first visited your house."

Visited my house? Are they talking about the day when they suddenly become lethargic and weak that they have to leave my house after a short while?

I think that was the day I found out about those radioactive mushrooms. Does that mean those mushrooms can give power?

What kind of comic plot is that!? What's next, an alien warlord who wants to delete half of the living beings in this universe? Maybe God is a homeless old man staying somewhere on some American street? Or is there a super soldier from the past who was in a cryogenic sleep, and is going to wake up soon?

Wait, this is Japan. And because we are talking about urban fantasy, it definitely has to be magical girls! Or if not, then something like Espers being a real thing here, and magicians being real in the western part of this world... no wait, wrong setting!

"Yumeko-chan, I don't know what you're thinking about but I think you are wrong...." Hayami snapped me out of my thoughts with her deadpan words.

"Right. Even I don't want to use my powers on you... your thought process gives me a headache...." Saki suddenly said to the side.

"Powers? What are your powers, Saki-senpai?"

"Right. I can make mental connections to the others, and hear what they are currently thinking. I tried it on you some time ago, and you're mind is a mess, so I didn't want to try it anymore..." Wait, she can read minds!?

"Uh.... what did you see in my mind?"

"Well, it's not seeing really. More like just hearing what you are thinking." Saki took a contemplating gesture. "The others normally think of one or two things, and I can parse through it as their idle thoughts are pretty quiet while their surface thoughts are more pronounced within our connection. Now yours is really weird! Like, how can you think of a lot of things at the same time!?"

Thinking a lot of things? Well, that is because of my Parallel Thought and Thought Acceleration!

"But it doesn't matter. We already know you are a super genius. We already concluded that something headache-inducing is just an everyday occurrence to you." She didn't give me any time to answer them.

"Okay....." Well, it seems like she is a telepath. Well, talking about their powers. "By the way, are you going to continue this?" Seeing them looking at me in confusion, I spoke again to make it clear. "Using your powers, I mean."

"Yes." I can see the others are looking a bit hesitant other than Shiro who quickly answered.

"I see..."

"Wait, it's just Shiro-san who wanted to do this! We are only coming along because we are worried for her!" Hayami immediately said to the side.

"Hmm.... then what's with the getup?" That is what I am curious about.

"It's to hide our identity!" Honomi said.

"Then Shiro?"

"No need. I can hide in the darkness!"

Hmm.... with the limited time I saw her in action, Shiro seems to have an ability that is very similar to those goblins. Maybe her powers are the reason she is being hunted by them?

No need to think about it... I still felt heavily guilty for what I did!

Okay, Poker Face is helping me here but I am incredibly shocked. I am so shocked when I realized just what happened to those Kurohenge people.

Regardless of how much they are threatening my friends, I didn't mean to actually kill them. If I am planning to do so, I should have used the knife from my inventory. I only used the bat and swing it hard, because I think they will survive that somehow.

When I turned the Fame of Kurohenge to zero, my initial thought is that they will become weaker. I think Youkai thrives in belief, so losing that belief will cause them to become weaker.

I didn't think they will just vanish like that. Moreso, I got a lot of EXP from doing it!

I literally did Genocide, and that's just through manipulating their popularity!

Even if they are an evil race, just the thought of genocide, much less killing is very chilling. I don't care if it's stupid to think about that from an enemy who just attempted to kill us a while ago. I killed someone!

Not just, someone, I killed a whole race!

I was already making sure that won't happen. I put their popularity back by one. It is small, but it is to ensure that they will still be remembered somewhat. I don't know. I just felt incredibly guilty about the thought of destroying a whole race accidentally.

That's not a laughing matter...

I swore to myself to ban the use of Fame Manipulation except in very special circumstances. I must also take note not to use Fame Manipulation to the extreme like turning popularity into zero.

This is a valuable lesson for me. I should take it all to heart and take responsibility!

".... Well, it's fine if you want to do it. I can help you if you want."

They seem to look at me in surprise, though I actually felt like that. I consider them as my very first genuine friends since I am aware of the world. I even include my past life in that!

I want them to stop doing it as it is really dangerous, but I don't have a habit of stopping someone from something they wanted to do. If they want to do it, then they should do so. I'll just try and support them from behind and occasionally tell them just how dangerous it is.

"Are you sure?" Hayami looks surprised as she leaned closer to me.

"Well, it's not like I'll come along with you. I don't want to find trouble for myself. I personally would like it if you stop doing this, but it's not like I control your life or anything." I shrugged. "Just make sure you are safe!"

"Wait... then how will you help us?"

Her question makes me smile. "Well, would you like to use my house as your base? I have a lot of neat stuff there!"

I decided not to say what I can do, but just reveal something for them and let them think about it. I still don't know what the people of this world thought about my own set of powers!

"Wow! That's a large hole!"

They are currently gathering around the large hole I made from my former laboratory. I saw Shiro jumping nonchalantly, and it seems like she just came back. I can feel the radiant expression beneath her gloomy face as she jumps up and down.

"What's in there Shiro? Come on, tell me!" Saki quickly got closer to her.

"Telepathy?"

"No way! I'm already tired of using it a lot of times! Just tell me in your own words!"

I just noticed it but it seems like they have some sort of limit when using their powers. Shiro and Honomi are the weird ones as they don't feel any mental fatigue when using their powers, but Saki and Hayami have some energy limits within them.

"Deep! Dark! Cool!"

"I know you can speak normally, so speak normally!" Saki said, causing Shiro to furrow her brows.

"Very wide and empty!" She simply said.

".... That's it?" Saki seems incredibly disappointed at that.

"Well, I told you. It's under construction." I said to them. "I made refreshments for all of you. So you should take some rest in the living room. I'll be doing something for a moment."

"... Uhmm... can we help you with something, Yumeko-chan?" Honomi suddenly asks to the side.

"No, I can do this easily. I just have to put these scraps from my extractors, refiners, and printers."

".... I still can't believe all of these are made from scraps!" Saki suddenly stood closer to one of my machines. Looking at it with what my discernment thinks of as awe and also curiosity.

"Well, if you just know what to do, anyone can easily do it." Even if I say that, I know that I am doing something amazing.

"You are the only one who can say that!" Hayami quickly rebutted.

I felt amused at them before they finally let me do my own thing.

It's late now so I will just put them all in the extractors so I can get the basic materials from these scrap, then put them into refiners to take off the impurities, and then finally mold them before finally going to the small printers for the sheet of metals, wires, and other stuff.

I can do the assembly tomorrow.

It might sound impractical to use a super generator on an elevator, but I'm not just planning on using it for my elevator. I'm also going to make a large air filtration device, along with a vast off-grid network in the initial stages of the creation of this underground base. This is to ensure that this base won't be hacked, and I am also planning to go deeper than the one I did a while ago, so I literally need fresh air or else I might suffocate or even get poisoned.

I am not masochistic enough to try and deliberately cause my suffocation. That might increase my resistance, but no way I will just do it! If I were like that, I would have already been hurting myself through every means just to acquire every resistance I can get!

As for the materials, I might actually not need to buy something in the future. Even if this sounds distasteful, I truly got a lot of benefits when I defeated that Youkai. I acquired a lot of level ups that I became Level 99, and there are a lot of perks that became available for me.

These are the current available perks I have!

Unlocks the Minimap function.
Acquire two times the EXP when defeating someone.
On a daily basis, a random ability will level up.
Unlocks the Gacha Shop function.
Unlocks the Game Shop and Money function.
Unlocks the Quest function.
Unlocks the Party function.
Acquire two times the Money when getting it through system-based requirements, objectives, or conditions.
Enables you to mark a location from the Minimap with the Minimap giving you the optimal path to get to that location. Quests will automatically use this function to point you to the location to finish the quest if it's needed.
You and everyone in your party will fully recover and all abnormal conditions will be healed after you rests or take a break.
Everything you produce will become 2x more bigger or get two copies of what you produced depending on what you chose.
You will get 2x more from any materials you harvested, extracted, or mined.
You will get 2x more quality from your refinements, upgrades, or improvements you did from every objects.
Create a book copy of any available abilities you have, which can be learned through reading it.
You can use the AP of your party members and upgrade or buy a new ability for them so they can learn it.
Your party members can also use your inventory.
Shows the name of places, people, and other things on the Minimap.
Enables a Minimap function that turns it into a three-dimensional holographic image.
Can be used to mark a person or any living being, or even an object. It will be tracked by the Minimap, and will depend on the user whether to stop tracking it or not.
You will get premium tickets on a daily basis. Also unlocks Premium Gacha.
Unlocks quests that will only reward AP to you or your party members (if you have any) when you finished it.
Creates a perfect replica of the region of your current location, and spawn enemies that depends on the environment of the copied area. User can leave anytime they want.

And it seems like I can choose four perks due to the amount of level ups I got.

First of all is Ability Compiler. If I can give them some of my talents, then I'm sure they will become safer from whatever they are planning to do with their powers. I just hope they won't use it for bad, though I think knowing them for sometime now, I don't have to think of that.

The next two is the Production Mania and the Harvest Mania. If what I'm initially planning failed, then I can use these two abilities to get unlimited resources!

Finally, the last one is the Instant Dungeon.

Normally people would think of picking that for grinding their levels or getting some loots or something. Though for me I have another plan in mind.

It did say it will create a perfect replica of the place where I am currently located, right?

Then, what if I just took everything from that replica? Doesn't that mean I'll just have all the resources I want even without the mania perks!?

Of course I have to make sure of that, but I don't know how Instant Dungeon actually works. It might suddenly engulf the others near me, so I would prefer if my friends leave before I start doing it.

That's why, tomorrow I will be testing this perk out!~

Yumeko doesn't know, but after she turned the Fame of Kurohenge into zero, a lot of things has been affected in the whole world.

In other parts of Iza, Kurohenge is well-known for being these small monsters that catch and torture children who stays up late into the night. They can't touch people who has slept earlier due to the protection of the God of Plentiful Thought & Dreams, Omusoukami no Mikoto. They were also known as the nightmare of hardworkers, as they also hunt those who work till late at night.

They are a tale used to scare children so they will sleep early. This tale has been created for thousands of years, and through it, the Embodiment of Darkness, Kurohashi-sama, has bestowed them their true form. It is with this belief that they managed to acquire a physical vessel, and has become the common minions of different demons from the various legends from Iza.

It is through their infamy and the fear of humanity against them that they're becoming stronger. As they are a mystery, nothing except those that can deny their spiritual essence or their origin can actually harm or kill them.

That also means that losing their fame causes their very existence to vanish. Because their infamy is their source of existence. Their physical body is just something that the god manifested so they can interact with the world.

They can be considered the kin of Kurohashi-sama, which means that their sudden disappearance has affected him greatly.

"Urk!? What happened!!? Where are my minions!?"

In the depths of a certain region from Iza, on a place called the Depths of Hell, a man with long black hair and has dark colored eyes that seems perpetually solemn, looks to be in pain as he gritted his teeth. Clutching the side of his body as he felt like his flesh has been torn forcefully even though he is physically fine.

"Kurohashi-sama... we lost all of the little ones!" A pale humanoid creature with pure green eyes and crimson sclera screamed with their screechy tone.

"The... little one.... they are....?" He tried to think about it, feeling like the word is just at the tip of his tongue, before he shakes his head. Giving up. "Whoever did this, they dare cause harm to me? The encroaching darkness that brings fear to every corner of this land!?" His eyes turned cold as he says that.

They don't know what happened. They don't even recall who lost from them. It's just that they know someone is messing with them, and that they should pay.

"Just the right time! My vessel is coming closer! And the seal will finally be taken off! The revival of this Great Kurohashi is slowly getting closer! Just you wait, whoever you are! I shall find you and make you pay for your transgression!" That he swore upon his breathe, his cold dark eyes looking from beyond.

At the same time, a being from some other dimension also felt it. A humanoid being that has a magician's mask, and has a suit commonly seen for formal illusionists.

"Ugh!? A small part of me has suddenly been torn apart from me?" He exclaims in surprise, before glancing at one of the worlds where darkness exists.

It might have been an insignificant part of him, but it is still affiliated to darkness. This being, an entity that is synonymous to insanity and the depth beyond the darkness, has been affected as a part of darkness just vanished like that.

"Hmm.... surprising... it seems like I have to create some avatar to investigate this matter. The origin of that is.... there!" His eyes beneath his smiling mask lit up in interest.

Not just his eyes, but many eyes formed around darkness that makes up the whole space. All of them being directed on a certain blue planet.

"I am curious just who is it. The one who can delete an aspect of darkness!"

Two major powers, and a lot of minor occurrences that suddenly become curious about the lost of something integral to their tale emerges not just from Iza, but on the world that knows of these creatures somewhat, or are inherently connected to the darkness.

The normal people only thinks it is their imagination, some thinking that they suddenly got an epiphany and put whatever they thought in an internet forum. Others tried to think hard about it, but can't really recall just what are the Kurohenge, before they dismissed it and think of something else.

But those who are part of the supernatural, or are supernatural themselves, have turned their eyes on Yomi City. Feeling that the sense of inconsistency seems to have started there.

So while their fame is deleted, that doesn't meant those that proves their existence are deleted as well. The documents or stories about them are still existing on physical or digital mediums. They just become so obscure due to the Fame Manipulation.

That meant they all died, but they can also come back so long as they got enough popularity, or infamy.

I hope you have fun with this chapter too!~

Very close to level 100 (if you ignore the 22183961092 (that's 22 billion(!!!)) XP still left to go). Will she get anything special for it? Shame she doesn't just get increased stats per level, or maybe it's for the best considering she'd be even more OP if she did.

Tftc! Unless she goes around committing massacres or killing gods, at this point the only way to level up is her daily perk which gets her 20 AP/day as a side effect.

BTW this is from a previous chapter, but I liked how Hayami (GDC president) kept justifying to herself the use of her powers.

"I promised to myself I wouldn't use these powers."

"Well, if I only use them a little to help a friend..."

"Heh, I'm getting the hang of this whole 'fighting for justice' thing."

"I'm good at this and I'm helping people. This is a good thing. I'm feeling good."

"If I was not meant to use these powers, then surely I would not have received them. This is my destiny."

Waking up and seeing that prompt immediately woke me up from my grogginess. Well, I don't feel groggy or lightheaded, likely because of my sleep resistance or something. Though the prompts gave me a shock due to its announcement.

I can choose two perks for every 100 levels!? Wait, not that.... if I am reading this right, does that mean I can only get perks every time I raised my level by a hundred?

That will take me... a hundred days! I can't possibly grind EXP normally unless I go with the most violent option.

And I don't want to be violent!

Well, there is that good bit about getting two new perks, but it felt like a downgrade still with perks being only available every one hundred levels.

Also, what does it mean from Superhuman Level?

No, I should think about the perks first. I can choose two perks right now, and because it will take a hundred levels before I can get new perks, I should think about this carefully.

"You know what? I'll just pick what I want!"

And so I picked Refinement Mania and Random Upgrade.

Why did I pick those? Because it's for fun!

There is no need to think much about it. I'm not trying to munchkin my way into prominence!

Now then, after the perks, I must look at my status first because I'm really curious about what it meant from that last prompt.

"Wait.... what?"

My EXP just turned back to zero. Also, what does it mean from VAL!?

After deciding not to think much about it, I do my usual chores before going to my school. Then I spent some time listening to my teacher's lecture until the lunch break. Kirara invites me once more to eat together, but I told her that I will be busy with club activities. She doesn't mind even though I felt disappointment from her expression.

Anyway, when I go back to our club room to continue the development of our game, nothing seems to have change much. Well, if there is something, it is that they are more open about what they wanted to do after class, unlike the past where they are always dodgy when something relating to their powers got into our topic.

"And so I was planning if I can use my telepathic link to confuse our enemies?"

"Isn't that a good idea? I was also thinking about new applications for my plant powers!~"

"Hmph! My power of darkness grows stronger!"

Somehow, even Shiro is more open since I learned about her powers. She is shamelessly acting edgy and brooding in the corner, even when I can feel how much she is actually enjoying it.

I'm sure when she grows old, she will think about this day and then cringe to herself. I also experienced something like that when I was in middle school on my past life. Thinking that I am special or the world revolves around me or something. Just the reminder how I acted on that time will make me cringe if not for my Poker Face.

"So when is the secret base going to be made? Is it possible for us to help you with something?" Honomi asked that while I was busy smoothing out the few codes that they messed up on their game.

"There is no need. I can take care of it by myself." I simply said while dismissing their concern.

Oh right, speaking of which..

"By the way, here. Something I made so you can be safe." I simply said while handing them a book.

This book is something I made through my Ability Compiler. It is the Sense Danger ability.

So why did I only make one? Well, my powers forgot to explain one important part about the Ability Compiler perk!

I need AP to make a book of my ability!

The AP cost depends on the level of the skill itself it seems. Making Sense Danger costs me 4 AP, which is the same as the level of my Sense Danger itself.

The book seems pretty magical. It is permanent, and reading it didn't really give me anything insightful about the ability, but it seems esoteric enough as the words itself are very profound that I felt like, if I didn't have Sense Danger, then I will learn it by just reading this book.

"What is this?" Honomi asked with a tilt of her head as she took the leather bound book I handed to her.

"It is a book compiling one of my useful technique. The capability to sense danger!" My words makes them perk up at now focus at me. "I think that if you are going to do something dangerous, it would be great if you can detect danger itself so you will know when to retreat."

"We won't retreat!" Shiro somehow frowned after saying that.

"I would really prefer if you don't become stubborn and fight just because you have powers. If something is dangerous, you should run away."

"Yumeko... your sounding like my Mom..." Saki suddenly said to the side, and her voice contains a hint of awkwardness in it.

"What can I do? Even if I know that you have powers, I still can't help but be worried for all of you. You're still middle schoolers, so I think it is inappropriate to actually be thinking about saving the city or something!" I said with a shrug.

"You're such a worrywart!" Saki grinned at me. "No need to be concerned! With us four together, we can defeat any criminals on this city!"

Hmm.... they seem really confident about that.

"Fine. But I will still worry about you all." I said with a shrug.

"Kay. But I'm telling you it's not worth being too concerned. We can handle ourselves!" Saki said with a grin, and Shiro on the side is nodding vigorously at that.

"By the way, this code here is just redundant. I think you are overspec-ing on this part, President..."

"Eh!? No way!"

With my quick derailment, we quickly go back to actually discussing about the game itself.

Occasionally they make mistakes like this despite already being taught professional level programming and other talents needed for our game. It seems like they are more preoccupied on their powers than our game now.

That fact also makes me sad. I really hope they focus more on the game than their own powers.

Well, we still have a lot of time before the Cultural Festival.

After school, the four promised that they will share the book to each other so they can learn Danger Sense. I really hope they read it. I actually don't know how it will affect the others, because when I read it myself it didn't have any effect other than the impression that the book is mysterious.

Now going back to my home, and making sure to lock it, I finally decided that for my whole free time I will be spending it on one of my new perks.

That's right! It's time to test the Instant Dungeon!

First I took the time to clean myself and change into more comfortable clothes. After that, I checked my inventory, seeing all the food and other necessities in there for survival in case I got stuck on some place somehow.

"Okay, I want to get inside the Instant Dungeon. How can I do that?" When I think about it out loud, I suddenly felt an eerie silence took over the whole bustling noises of the city outside.

I look at the windows and saw the lack of car or even the crowd walking on the streets. Though there are something seems to be slowly moving there.

I actually don't care. My initial plan is to see something else.

So I go to where the perfect replica of my computer is located, and then take all of the set to my inventory. After that I think of leaving this space, and in a blink of an eye I suddenly find myself in the same position as the one from the Instant Dungeon, but with my computer still being there despite me taking it off from that replica.

Looking at my inventory, I saw that the computer is still there. Taking it out and putting them side-by-side, even booting up the copy of the computer I got from that Instant Dungeon, I am finally convinced.

"Hehehehe! It really makes a replica of it!~"

I see. So the replica of the place that my Instant Dungeon created on my current location is truly perfect! It actually made a perfect copy of everything from my location, even the furnitures and other stuff in it!

And taking anything from that replica world doesn't affect the real world.

Which means....

"An exploit!~" I exclaimed in excitement.

Finally, I can have unlimited amount of resources without having to pay for it! I can make a lot of things with this!~

Sorry for the long delay, here is the next chapter.

I know it's short, so I apologize for that. I will try to make longer chapters in the future if I can...

I hope you have fun with this chapter too!~~
