    I picked discovery because that's the archetypal heroic story (weak man goes out to confront what is beyond his domain and is therefore rewarded [with riches, food, women, etc] far beyond the cost to himself). I mean, that's Marduk and Horus and Saint George and a thousand other heroes. Thus my desire for whatever special power I get to somehow be to the benefit of civilization.

    That happened to you too? God, I absolutely hate it when SV doesn't alert me!

    Did you check and make sure your alerts settings were good? I remember there was something in particular you had to check to make sure stuff like that doesn't happen (or at least not as often, since it still happens to me occasionally).

    In any case, always good to manually check in just in case.

    ...Y'know I really hope it doesn't happen and I by no means want anyone kicked out, but did you have a contingency plan in case someone fails to respond after a lengthy period?

    I just figured it's unfair to the other players and to the people on the waitlist when a person or two takes weeks at a time to respond, especially if they've lost interest or can't find the time to write.

    After about a week, I let them know I'm cutting them off.

    I have both a functional computer and hex mapping software, I just don't know if I've got the free time to slap one together (especially when it's so prone to change).
