The New Gods of A Broken World

@ShieldCrown

Name: Mirdan Eladain , The Smith of stars
Former Master: Aros, God of Fire and Metal
Domain: Creation (of things, artefacts, new life, new ideas... The Star-maker is not very choosy)
Appearance: An impossibly tall and strong-mucled First Elven (or other race) of indterminate gender (actually, it can shift) . One of its limbs or eyes is, however always a very intricated prostetic due to an almost forgotten incident in the dim past.
Tends to wear either elaborate garb in red and gold ored and silver or only apron, boots and gloves over nothing.
special Power: The Star Forge. Every 5 Turns, you can make a 10+ Point Artifact for half the cost.

Personality: Definitely high-strung when not creating something, in which case the Star-maker can get quite patient AND obsessive. Benevolent at heart, not the dour type at all.
In short, an artisan.. no, an ARTIST.

History:
While Legend has Mirdan being employed by Atos to make the stars in the sky, hir first comfirmed job was as the teacher sent to teach the First Elves, ancestors of the light and Dark Elves, the arts of the forge and other crafts. From there, Mirdan inherited much of the traits exhibited today by the star-maker.... and a predilection towards the elven races. Mirdan does not dislike ithers and especially likes the hive people and the Forged.... but inasmuch as an servitor identifies with a mortal race, it would be the Elves.

It's conceptual, you can "Restore" anything as long as you have the power.

They can't delve too deep into Domains that aren't theirs, but they want to create a Artifact that doesn't strictly relate to their domain. Like say, you're a God of Light, you can still create an Artifact that, say, manipulate earth and stone.

Ok, thanks. There was something I was interested in creating (maybe not immediately but sometime in the future), but I'm not sure of a few things like how many points it would cost and even what it technically constitutes as. When you have a moment, I'll leave a description of it below for you to consider.

I'll try to my best to keep this as short as possible. Basically, I wanted to create a mask that would bestow immense power onto any mortal that wore it for a limited time.

There's a lot more to it however; to go into detail, I want this mask to turn the wearer into the ultimate warrior: a pinnacle of might on the battlefield, with strength, speed, and durability far beyond any of the mortal races' potential. I'd say superhuman, but since there are races stronger than humans, I'm going for powerful even by Culburn/Dragnoid standards. Additionally, the wearer would gain enhanced regenerative abilities, to the point of regrowing any dismembered limbs within minutes, and become even stronger the closer they come to death. Finally, while it does not bestow magic to the wearer, it creates enhanced resistance to spells, enchantments and curses, essentially being an anti-magic item.

There are stipulations, however. Once the mask is worn, it is impossible to remove by any means until the wearer accomplishes the purpose of why they sought the mask in the first place. Ideally, I'd like it to be within my possession whenever it's not being used; this means it returns to my possession immediately upon the wearer's death, and whoever wishes to wear the mask must have a goal for its use that I deem acceptable. To further assist this aspect, I wanted to grant the mask access to everything in the wearer's mind and pseudo-sentience. Basically, it would have two "personality states": when in combat, it is a tactical adviser and eggs on the wearer to act sadistically. When it's not in combat, however, it taunts the wearer and preys on their insecurities, drawing from its familiarity with the wearer to encourage accomplishing their goal by mercilessly threatening it with insanity and slavery; the purpose of this latter state is to both discourage the wearer from dawdling in their mission and ensure only the truly strong-willed can withstand wielding the mask's power.

Finally, should the wearer prove weak-willed and go insane wearing the mask to the point that they let the mask take over their personality, the mask will kill the wearer, allowing it to return to my possession. I know, it's a lot of detail, but I tried my best not to go too overboard with its powers

I know all this might seem hyper-specific, but I unfortunately felt it was necessary to best describe what I was looking for. I'd completely understand if it was expensive to create, and it's admittedly more an idea I was interested in indulging rather than a part of my long-term plan for the quest.

In particular, I'd like to ask three questions concerning this item.
  1. Would this item technically be an Avatar or an Artifact? I ask because I'm not sure how much sentience an artifact is allowed to have, even if I tried to limit it's intelligence and self-awareness.
  2. How many points would this cost to create?
  3. What domain would it's abilities fall under? I believe it would be Power, but I wasn't entirely sure.

Waiting List.
And that is Seven Players/New Gods. Anyone else from this point will be put on a waiting list.

Waiting List:

  1. This is an Artifact, as for how sentient an Artifact can be, capable of speech and independent thought. Though that adds a few extra points.
  2. Point wise, I'd say this is a 7 pointer.
  3. Yeah that works, though Artifacts are not limited by the maker's Domain.

IC Thread is up.

You can post IC stuff, omakes, whatever you want to be done in-universe and is not related to game mechanics there. However, you can, also, post actions lists there alongside actions to help people to understand what you are doing (Or PM them to me, to keep everyone in the dark...).

Quttar
[x] Use HOPE BURNS BRIGHT on the molnane civilization
@ShieldCrown
Does this action work
... if you need to ask if your action is okay, either PM me the action, or ask here on the OOC thread.

If we wanted to seek out a specific kind of person, how many points would it cost?

In case the amount varies, the person I am interested in looking for is a mortal that is a paragon of all mortal-kind; peerless in strength, intelligence, and spirit, or the closest approximation to such a being. If it costs less, I'm willing to look for one such being among each of the mortal races.

You just need to look for it, not exactly a hard thing to do.

I was looking and couldn't find any good hexgraph program for mobile. ^^;

So I was wondering, even though Remzotl is the god of the sky can I use shape land to create a mountain or a forest?

Also for Heaven's Wrath, is it limited to real-world weather or can I use more esoteric weather?

You fools..

Seemingly Uninhabitable Desert Wasteland?

Check.

People stuck in giant holes in the ground ala vaults and bunkers?

Check.

Probably Hostile Beast Folk and Other Deadly Races?!

Check.

Spiral Power, Grit, Determination, and Fighting Spirit?!

CHECK.

And said hives have a lot to learn about surviving in water as well.

I like that my forest ended up between an inhospitable desert and an icy tundra. Makes a good rest stop and my chosen people will have a good position to create a civilization on what could be a key point in the trade routes. :D

Magic
Arcane Magic: Art of taking ambient mana, imposing ones will into it and using it create an effect without cause (ignoring whole magic action). Gestures and incantations are optional, but useful to imposing ones will. During the old times, most powerful mages could shape the world just by looking at it.

"Divine" Magic: Drawing power directly from the Empyrean and focusing it into "Miracles" such as healing with a touch, smiting "evil", turning and destroying Undead, banishing Demons, etcetera.

Druid Magic: Art of drawing power from nature and the World itself to command beasts, summon plants, assuming the forms of animals, controlling the weather, and more.

Rune Magic: Specially crafted runes are used to bind mana into a shape. Runes are hexagonigal shapes, with outflow and inflow of magic. You can imagine rune magic as form of creating electric circuits, except with magic. Old runic systems usually had "intake rune", which drew ambient mana into itself, as well as "release rune" that released excess mana from the rune system in order to avoid damage to the rune circuit. Runes are limited to creating effect on whatever they are shaped, and can't affect other things unless they have a pair rune on target.

Necromancy: The raising of corpses as undead servants, but also possesses control over curses of death, plagues, exhaustion, rot, decay, and more of that.

Blood magic : User sacrfices their blood of living being in exchange of using mana bound into it. Old Gods were rather disdainful of this form of magic, but it is quite powerful depending on the sacrifice. However, blood magic has several limitations. First of all, one needs a specially crafted symbol and an incanation, upon which blood is let. Secondly, blood must be fresh, no older than one minute. The amount of blood fed to the symbol (symbol "drinks" the blood, glowing brighter more mana it as imbued itself), before release incantation is said. At this point, all magic is released in whatever form the user has designated in the symbol.

Aww, man I feel bad now for sending at least two hives into a long journey to the sea. I think the fourth hive is going to have the most trouble at going there.
Eh, 50/50 ain't too bad.

BTW, there are a lot more Temples than the ones you can see. They may hold the answers to what happened during the Cataclysm.

I wonder what the compasses with the other two queens who have to make a journey will do while on land. I mean I wanted my artifacts to be tied to sea travel but still useful so I based it on Jack Sparrow's compass.
