It's basically a matter of whether the Soul is the seat of consciousness or not, and therefore whether Raven accesses the brain, or the soul when she pulls her pseudo-possession trick.
Teen Titans seems to lean towards the two being separate (likely unintentionally, well, except in one case...), but your own comments have hinted otherwise.

Personally I expected both parties to be more or less under Illuminati control, but having one be firmly in their camp and the other with us actually gives us the chance to win without fleeing the US, so I think it's easy see why it happened the way it did.
And like always, the quality of writing in general was great, I can't wait to see the Infernal Realm's reaction...

That and I really don't believe the Illuminati and its fellow secret societies have as much a hold as conspiracy theorists think they do. It's really the mass media and the Internet that made them bigger and more shadowy than they really are. That and they always struck me as rather conservative as a group despite their desire for a 'new world order'. In my mind, it meant 'we want to go back to the days when people knew their place in society'. A neo-feudal society in an age of widespread Internet technology, in other words.

The Roosevelts kicked them out of America, and then for a while, J. Edgar Hoover kept them out. It's only until Reagan that they managed to get back into America. The Clintons are somewhat members. Bill lukewarm about all that, Hillary a stronger member and trying to initiate Chelsea. Obama hates them, and was the first President since Roosevelt to successfully cockblock them by winning the 2012 elections against a huge amount of hateful opposition, satanic attempts on his soul and a billion dollar war chest.
And so far, Sander's shaping up to be a powerful foe.

Umbra paused, wiping sweat from his elongated nose. (He refused to call it a snout.)
"I think I got it. This should reach the Worldcore." He muttered to himself, nobody around to hear him. At least, nobody not visibly there.
"And then Spark can get his own portals." He smiled wistfully. "The plans that I can make with that..."
'Right, now let's see what I can do with this...'
A portal opens in the air, and a booming voice echoed through the Portal Testing Area.
"This ain't the Worldcore." The Snivy whined. "Wankers redirecting my portals."
The portal closed, silence returning to the area.
"Pieces of shit making me think I got this right." He grumbled out, working through another set of runes. "...Wait. That was humans."
He paused to ponder on that.
"This wasn't an alternate dimensional portal, so this redirected to an..."
The portal ripped open itself with a loud echoing, tearing noise.
'Already existing dimensional portal connected to the world.' He finished mentally, already crying internally from the revelation.
"Fuck." He groaned tiredly, before the portal grabbed him in a sudden vacuum, the shoulder-vines he was using to anchor himself, and the square shaped piece of dirt that said vines was anchored to. "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU-"
The portal closed again, this time permanently as the origin of the rift went through, displacing him feet away from the floor, but still going the same speed.
*SLAM*

It's sad really, how there all under estimating me, just thinking of me as a dragon and an army, my character is a dragon with an army Corps of magi tech engineers.
But I am also a dragon, if they talked to me, gave me a better deal, I would work with them, and not have to spend the effort to rally the world behind me.
I should quickly hire up a bunch of PR people, get the commercials for Mizzet industries started airing in a week.

There humanity frist types who do not take the collective will of humanity, and the human condition into account, nations might follow there lead, but not all.
THEY kinda would be a good bit wrong, the closest thing to a devil in Ravinca is the demon lord rakdos, not niv.
Even he is somewhere in the grey area on that scale, the guy who made the setting was REALLY good at making sure no faction was good, or evil.
Most of niv's issues come from him living too long, and being sooo bored by it all.
This... if they ask me about how I feel about this, that part of me is GIDDY with excitement, and interested in this.
To the people in the know, that would come across as being FUCKING TERRIFYING.
