[X] [Storyline] Flame and Frost

With two of our friends involved, I'm somewhat invested in resolving it before suspicion has time to fester and make reconciliation more difficult. Seriously, picking two people Ambraea already likes who are possibly becoming enemies over random strangers with bad dreams and the resident trouble maker should be easy.

[X] [Goal] Swords and Heartache

I like Maia, really I do, but she's not the one with a house that we know faces an anathema demon army in an all out battle of sorcery. I'd rather attach Ambraea to Sola, and hopefully avoid the possibility of that dynamic Battle between Tepet and Anathema is her last.

Also, who do we think Maia's brother from the immaculate order is talking about?

She accepts, wincing in pain as she straightens. All she can think is how much she wishes she were back at the Heptagram: At least one person there isn't an enemy, after all.
Okay, ominous. Like, seriously, if Depth is coaching Maia in being some double agent who is ultimately the enemy of everyone but Ambraea, he needs to go. Feed him to Diamond Cut Perfection, frame someone else.
Sola will still be in school when the campaign against the Bull of the North occurs.
Nice, though, I feel like she'd still plan some vengeful retribution that would endanger her life if she doesn't have a very strong reason not to. Hopefully I'm wrong, since it seems we are Courting Maia, which i'm ultimately cool with. It will be cute.

That's what life as a member of House Iselsi is like. But I think he's also trying to say 'don't forget what you are (an assassin's blade who exists to serve the Empress over everyone else) because no one who finds out will.'

Damn, those are some tough calls. Diamond has a fun secondary character vibe to him, more than a romantic one anyway. Sola is awesome, but I can imagine her as a lifelong adventuring buddy or something, and I just like Maia a little more. I'd enjoy dealing with either Amiti or Deiza more, but since Amiti's stuff is supposed to be availible in Year 4, I'll just put that off in the hopes that that year will give me a more clear-cut choice.

That kind of runs the risk of the mistrust towards Amiti that Ledaal Anay Idelle is harboring grows stronger over the year, and may make a resolution where the two of them remain friends more difficult. Between a split between two of Ambraea's hard earned friends and dealing with the troublesome rival, I feel like the two friends deserve priority more.

Yeah, that's entirely valid; again, it's a tough call. But I did want to focus on Deiza at some point, and if I'm not mistaken we've already put that off once or twice. The option won't be there forever. So, I guess...hang in there, Amiti, you're next on the to-do list?

Depends on the voters. Personally I wouldn't count on year four's storyline options being less contentious than year 3 is proving, especially if Ambraea successfully courts any of these 3. I'm expecting something serious from Diamond Cut Perfection next year as well. Probably an Elemental or Demon Rival.

Thanks for writing this story😊

You have so far not had a great deal of contact with Simendor Deiza, but the cadet house scion has not made a good impression so far. Tensions only increase with further contact, and rivalry cuts both ways. Just what are Deiza's motivations for acting the way she does toward her social betters?
So, as the vote clearly develops in favor of this storyline, I'm curious what people are expecting? I'm personally expecting that a few months into their 3rd year, Deiza decides that the best way to clear the air between herself and Ambraea is to challenge/provoke her into a a duel of Sorcery. It's the characters rash impulsiveness, desire to show off, and general lack of social nuance, while providing Ambraea incentive to "Hone" her abilities, setup a climactic conclusion, and give the girls a literal arena to work out all that tension. Thoughts?
