[X] [Location] An abandoned village

This feels the spookiest combined with their zombie plans.

[X] [Anathema] Wounded Hound, Full Moon Caste Chosen of Luna

While my first instinct was the No Moon - having Ambraea fight against her magical superior and getting to test out her new Evocation - I kinda felt like we just had something like that with Yoxien. Wounded Hound's pure brutality combined with a personal grudge against Ambraea and her family makes him the most interesting choice to me.

[X] [Location] An abandoned village
[ ] [Location] A false messenger

I dithered on this, but I think ultimately it's more interesting for our protagonists to face the ugly side of necromancy used against them, with the kind of callousness that the enemy necromancer is disgusted to stoop to. It'll make telling Amiti the story of this adventure all the more fraught afterwards. And seeing through a Lunar's disguise would be a cool beat, but it's less necessary because...

[ ] [Anathema] Beacon of Truth, Zenith Caste Chosen of the Unconquered Sun
[X] [Anathema] Wounded Hound, Full Moon Caste Chosen of Luna

...ultimately I think Ambraea should fight the enemy who'll yell the most at her about how dead he wants her, and all the horrible things her mother got up to. Beacon would be a natural highlight of the Hunt, being the Solar and the nominal target, but the simple fact that he can't exposit at us effectively mid-fight really hurts his place in the story.

nobody is going to remember that the Sidies did anything. So it'll look like Ambraea, Maia, and Sola did nearly a full-on 3v3 against enemies that normally require a massive numbers advantage to beat.
Interesting point, I'm never quite sure how this works. Will people remember that there was a fifth DB supposedly along with us, or will Grace's persona's presence just sort of edit it out of everyone's memories once she discards the Resplendent Destiny fully?

As long as Grace has that RD, people will remember that Yueh Mei was a cadet house Dynast from House Yueh and that she did the things she did, but the little details of her appearance and personality will fade away until all that's left is a general impression of the identity and the archetype of the Quiver.

If the Resplendent Destiny gets destroyed, or lost, or sacrificed, everyone will forget her entirely as per normal -- a Sidereal can only maintain a certain amount of them at a time, and they can't hold on to all of them indefinitely, so that's not even unlikely.

To clarify this, Beacon finds signing more comfortable and less restrictive for casual conversation with his boyfriend, but he can use Poetic Expression Style to make himself understood through body language at need. His fight would definitely have less shouting, but a lot more mean little smirks or eyebrow raising that somehow convey a whole statement.

lol. I was expecting beacon of truth to manage some manner of communication, but having an entire style dedicated to it that will let him fully engage is very cool.

What did the Empress do with Anathama in the Imperial Manse anyway?
This is a long running "play to find out" mystery box element that's been present in some form for a very long time. The most popular theories are that she needed them to either keep herself young, or to maintain control over the Realm Defense Grid, or some combination of both.

Will we get a Singular Grace pov of the Hearthmate Oath?

I'm guessing Ambraea's going to call on Diamond cut perfection when the actual number of anathema becomes apparent?

"Three of whom are school girls," Nettle says, unimpressed. "I don't need to know her well to know that this shit is too personal for that Tepet bitch. I don't wanna rely on her for more than rushing in and getting herself killed, if it comes to that. Princess Full-of-Herself out there seems a bit steadier, at least."

"You remember that I was raised with her?" Grace says. She executes a series of dodges with her hands clasped almost demurely behind her back, her footwork bringing her around to face Nettle.

"Yeah, that's gotta feel a bit fucked up for you," Nettle agrees, unapologetic. "The third one, well, as long as she's pointed at the right people."

"Erona Maia?" Grace asks, surprised.

"Yeah. You know. Short, cute, boyish, looks at people she's met for the first time like she's been taught to assess them for elimination. There's a difference between someone who'll kill if you push 'em to it, and a killer. Run with the kind of crowd I came up around, and you learn to tell the difference fast."
What would nettle have to say about Amiti and L'nessa were they here instead?

"Sesus girl seems sweet enough," Nettle says.

Grace frowns at her, vividly thinking back to her first meeting with Sesus Amiti. Still deeply uncomfortable with even ordinary sorcerers, being cornered without Ambraea by a strange Dragon-Blood who had maintained nothing like an appropriate social remove, and who had alluded to several highly uncomfortable forms of magic had not been enjoyable. She isn't a servant any longer, but the first impression has not left her. "You don't find her a little... unsettling?"

Nettle shrugs. "Some of my best friends are necromancers, and I've been to some bad fucking parts of the Underworld. Her being a bit weird about it doesn't bother me so much. Shame she seems like she's going to panic and choke the moment something dangerous happens. But, people die on the road all the time. I'm not going to rely on her." She sounds very slightly regretful. When she speaks next, her voice is utterly dismissive: "Or on the V'neef girl, fucking obviously. Buying a nice bow and some armour with mommy's jade doesn't mean she knows what she's doing out here."

"She's still Exalted," Grace says, sounding a little appalled.

"Yeah, sure, that's true," Nettle agrees, "but the problem is, so's the other guy, isn't he?"

late responding to the vote close, but man does this make things interesting. depending on how Gazetteer decided to handly the tie, this could be an especially dramatic showdown, even more so than it was already.

I was really sure that the vote was 11 - 10, for some reason, and so did not notice there was even a tie. I have just kind of written the whole thing with the assumption that Beacon won narrowly, and I am not changing it now, unfortunately.
